30 Years in Whitebeard’s Crew, I Became Invincible

A single bullet.

That was all it took for Kaido to see his long-dead parents for the first time.

Even with his Observation Haki suppressed by Roy, his survival instincts kicked in, granting him a fleeting glimpse of the future.

A split-second premonition.

Just like Luffy at the Marineford War, he foresaw his arms being severed by Mihawk.

At the critical moment, Kaido stopped.

He forcibly halted his own attack mid-swing.

The bullet from Roy's pistol pierced through Kaido's kanabo. This time, Kaido's weapon could no longer withstand the pressure.

It shattered.

The bullet then struck one of Kaido's horns, breaking it clean off.

The only witness, Ashura Doji, watched the scene unfold, utterly shaken. His worldview had been turned upside down.

Someone had actually become strong enough to nearly kill Kaido.

He realized, if Kaido hadn't stopped in time, that bullet would've gone straight through his head.

Roy was a little surprised. What he saw in the future was Kaido's head getting pierced, yet the guy stopped.

"Looks like your instinct kicked in. I'm impressed you managed to stop yourself," Roy said in surprise.

Kaido's breath came ragged. "...That nearly got me."

"Let's end it here for today. Killing you now wouldn't benefit me much. But as the loser, you'll have to pay a price." Roy smiled faintly.

"LOST?! The Fight isn't over," Kaido roared, eyes filled with defiance.

Roy stepped on Kaido's chest, pressing the gun to his head. At this close range, if Kaido made even one move, Roy could shoot and kill him before he could react.

"A loss is a loss. Don't make excuses," Roy said coldly.

With the gun barrel against him, Kaido realized he couldn't move, and couldn't fight back. Roy's Conqueror's Haki had coiled around him, binding him like a chain. Their Haki intertwined. The black lightning crackling across his body wasn't his anymore.

Zzzzt!

Black lightning surged across Kaido's body as the Conqueror's Haki rendered him immobile.

"My runaway son will stay in your crew. You don't need to 'look' after him, but if something happens, I will come back and kill you," Roy said calmly.

"What's your goal?" Kaido asked, gritting his teeth.

"You'll find out soon enough." Roy deactivated his Haki and jumped off Kaido's chest, picking up the broken horn.

"I wonder if this'll be good for holding liquor."

"It's not a bad idea."

Right in front of Kaido, Roy casually wrapped the broken horn in cloth and slung it over his shoulder.

Kaido could only watch as Roy took the trophy. Just as Roy said, he had lost.

For Kaido, this was humiliation, one he would never forget.

Back on Onigashima, Izo had already been defeated. The rest of the crew was also taken down.

The All-Stars and Tobiroppo had captured them all.

"Should we wait for Kaido-sama to deal with them?" Jack asked, holding his ivory blade.

"Play it safe, we wait for his return. Who knows how long that freak fight will last? We don't even know how many Whitebeard Pirates are out there," Queen said.

"Are these guys dead? None of them are waking up." Ulti kicked one of their unconscious Beast Pirates crew.

"Big Sis, they fainted, stop bullying them," Page One said.

"Oh? Little Pagey, you got a problem with me lately?" Ulti snapped.

"N-No! Just saying, Big sis, calm down."

"These things, we can't just execute them casually, or we'll start an all-out war," Who's Who said.

"If you're this cautious, the Whitebeard Pirates must be that strong," Black Maria commented.

"You've never been out to sea?" Drake asked her.

"I don't like traveling, I prefer staying here. But yes, Whitebeard's crew is strong, right?" she replied.

Drake silently noted that down, intel on the Beasts Pirates. He would relay it later.

"They're stronger than the Beasts Pirates," Drake said bluntly.

"What did you just say?" Jack glared at him.

"I'm stating facts. If both Whitebeard and Roy came at us together, do you really think we could win?" Drake asked.

"Hmph!" Jack snorted, staring at Izo and the others, clearly itching to kill them.

"Kaido-sama has returned."

King stood up and looked toward the entrance. Kaido flew in, but he looked horrific. One of his horns was broken, his body covered in blood, and a gaping wound in his chest, an absolutely terrifying sight.

"Kaido-sama…"

Everyone was stunned. None of them had ever seen Kaido in such a pitiful state.

Kaido landed, glanced at his subordinates, and said nothing, just walked straight into the main building.

"Are you alright, Kaido-sama?" Black Maria asked nervously.

"Kaido-sama, what happened to that guy?" Jack asked.

"You looking for me?"

From behind Kaido, Roy leapt down.

"Big Bro!!"

Izo shouted, and the others let out a sigh of relief.

Seeing Roy completely unharmed while Kaido looked like that, the outcome was clear; even if no one died, the result was crushing.

"You guys look rough," Roy said, walking over and breaking the Seastone locks on them.

"Let's go. Time to head back," Roy said.

"What about Loxus?"

"Leave him here. He lost, there's a price to pay. Let him stay."

Roy looked back at Rosho, who turned away and avoided his gaze.

"Kaido, he's yours now. He's your subordinate from now on," Roy said calmly.

"Tch. I'll make him a true pirate, one that will kill you," Kaido said through clenched teeth.

"Keep dreaming," Roy replied.

"Give me back my damn horn," Kaido demanded.

"This is my spoil of war. You're a dead man, Kaido. I spared you. What's wrong with taking a little souvenir?" Roy said.

The moment those words left his mouth, the All Stars and Tobiroppo were shaken, their faces pale with disbelief.

Kaido lost!!

It was like a thunderbolt from a clear sky, leaving them utterly shocked.

Loxus felt numb. He had witnessed Kaido's overwhelming power, yet he lost to his father?!

"Impossible. There's no way Kaido-sama could lose to you!" Ulti screamed in denial, charging at Roy.

"Big Sis!!"

Page One tried to stop her but failed. Ulti transformed into a dinosaur and lunged.

BANG!

She was floored instantly at Roy's feet, head bleeding.

"Is she always this brave?" Roy asked, unfazed.
