Accelerator Vampire

Chapter 11: 11. Appointment

John smiled as he looked at the vampires in front of him. He was proud of them. They were all like his sons. He believed he owed this family to Evelyn. Her last wish was that he would not be alone.

"Come in. Don't stand by the door like idiots," John invited them in, but then began to scold them. "Let me make it clear from the beginning: if you mess up the house, you will have to clean it up. Even when they didn't make a mess, they always helped around the house.

John sat down on the couch, lit a cigarette, and motioned for the young vampires to sit down. Once they were all seated, John began to examine them.

After a long look, John finally spoke. "How much longer are you going to be silent?"

"Where do I start, old man?" Felix continued to call John old. Without answering, John looked at Felix. "You haven't changed at all, you're still as stupid as ever," Felix's smile faded as he heard John's words.

"We've learned new things, John," Axel was about to explain their discoveries to John. John was an intelligent man; Axel often explained his plans to him. Although they sometimes disagreed, they usually shared the same ideas.

"I've been retired a long time, damn it. If you don't tell me something I'm interested in, I'll make sure I kick your asses," John was really bored. Sometimes he regretted not going with them.

"You're retired already, you horny old man," Felix whispered to Maxwell, but everyone heard. Even when not in wolf form, John's hearing was sharp, but Felix had forgotten that.

"Would you like me to show you how a real retiree behaves?" John replied to Felix with unexpected calm. Despite his apparent calm, John was at his limit, which Felix sensed, so he fell silent.

Chuckling, Axel got up and headed for the door.

"Where are you going? I thought you were going to tell us something," John didn't understand where Axel was going.

"I'll be back in 2 minutes," Axel walked over to the RV. After unlocking it, he entered and went to the hidden weapons cabinet. He took out the new daggers he had made. Before leaving the RV, he also took Felix's sketchbook and a thick book. After locking the RV, Axel started walking back to the house with quick steps.

Since it was early morning, the sky hadn't completely cleared. The crimson hue of the sun adorned everything.

Axel entered the house and shut the door. He put the things he was carrying on the table and sat back in the chair he had occupied earlier.

John was curious, but waited patiently. Axel opened Felix's sketchbook and showed him the picture of the Wendigo.

"What is this? Are you showing me a drawing you made?" John had looked at the drawing for a moment, but found it silly.

"The thing in the picture is real, John," Axel got right to the point.

"What the hell is that?" John looked at the Wendigo. It was the first time in his life he had seen such a thing.

Axel picked up the book he had brought with him and began turning the pages. When he reached the page he wanted, he stopped and handed the book to John.

John took the book offered by Axel and began to read the open page.

The Wendigo is a creature found in Native American mythology. It is often associated with people who starve and turn to cannibalism for food. In local legends, the Wendigo is depicted as a creature with a human body, but of gigantic size.

John looked at the picture in the book. Despite the differences from Felix's drawing, it was generally similar.

"Damn, you brats found a Wendigo and didn't tell me?" John began to blame himself for not going with them.

Axel said nothing and handed John the bone daggers. John was amazed when he looked at the bone daggers in his hand. He had never seen this type of bone before.

"What kind of animal bone is that?" John realized that such a strong bone could not be found in an ordinary animal. "Or is it the bone of this thing?" John was fascinated by the bone daggers in his hand.

"I didn't expect you to know so much about bones, old man," despite hearing Felix's words, John didn't care.

Axel noticed John's interest in the daggers. "None of us here really like to use daggers, John. Would you like them?"

Axel knew John was a proud man. Even though John liked the daggers, he didn't prefer such a weapon. "I don't like using daggers either," John admired the daggers but didn't think he would use them.

"Okay," Axel didn't insist.

"Where is this Wendigo creature now?" John wanted to see the creature.

Felix spoke calmly. "It's dead." All eyes turned to Felix.

"I killed it," Axel interrupted before Felix could start babbling, planning to explain everything to John.

"When Axel kills someone, there must be a reason," John knew Axel very well. He always trusted his decisions.

"The Wendigo is stronger than a normal vampire. We couldn't keep it captive," Axel didn't want to kill the Wendigo, but it had to be done.

"If this happens again, call me," John was angry and jealous. He hadn't had adventures like these vampires when he was young. Now he wanted to be like them. He had been at home all year.

"We actually thought about calling you, but Felix didn't want to bother you because you've aged," Maxwell let Felix go.

John looked directly at Felix. Under normal circumstances he would have roughed him up, but he missed him since he hadn't seen him in a long time, so he put up with his jokes. Maxwell's last words were the last straw.

"Let's train tonight instead of tomorrow," John usually trained in the morning. He had used training as an excuse to beat them up when he was angry, but now he felt he couldn't wait until morning.

"Hey John, Maxwell is lying. Don't believe him, you know me," Felix tried to get out of a tight spot, but he had pissed John off too much today. He wanted to try his luck one last time.

"Of course I believe you. Honest people should be rewarded. Tonight I will reward you," Felix realized that John wouldn't believe him and didn't try his luck again.

This martial arts training was more focused on teaching techniques, so no one used too much power. Those with poor technique usually ended up getting beaten. Felix feared this. Maxwell was the best among them in fighting techniques. Axel believed that he didn't need technique in fights, so he had developed himself in areas where he was lacking, instead of learning fighting techniques.

Felix was the worst among them in martial arts, but he was still quite skilled. It wouldn't be easy for a normal vampire to defeat Felix.

Axel got up to go to his room upstairs. He quickly walked up the wooden stairs. When he opened the door, it creaked because it had not been oiled for a long time. He entered and saw his room, which he hadn't seen in a long time.
