Chapter 17: Jade Abalone
Adria sunk into one of the chair, a hand comb g to rest on her eyes, as her lips made way for a sigh.
She was extremely exhausted.
After what Author had said, she left immediately, not giving him anymore chance to have spoken… and now, she was at her house, she needed to celebrate her new departure, away from everyone, and everything.
But first… her mother.

Author, clenched his fists, his hand beginning to hit his head constantly… no matter how much he tried to do it… he could never bring himself to hate her, even if she killed his mother.
Author closed his eyes, taking in a deep inhale, and remembering the text his mother sent, it was engraved into his mind, like a burning stone.
Every time... He found himself thinking about it. That day… if he had reported her… would be have felt better? Would it have made this unbearable pain he now feels less? The question was… why does he now feel a void…? in a place that it's not meant to be?
"Crap…" he whispered, with his fingers digging into his hair.
The truth was… he couldn't bring himself to hate her… the woman he'd loved since forever.

Adria is now stood frozen in the mirror, her eyes still unable to believe what she saw.
Was this now her? Each and every day she slept, she wished to wake up to a white light shining brightly in her eyes, signifying her death.
But no… she truly was stuck here… in this life she knew nothing of. Adria closed her eyes, and sighed… her mother had arrived at her house a week ago… she got settled in not too long, and she herself equally wondered what happened to the Veronica she knew.
Adria noticed quite a few things about her mother.
Like one time when she had set what to boil, and completely forgot about it, or the one time she forgot how, and when, she came to the house.
Was it because of stress? Adria thought while falling flat on the bed, her eyes fluttering shut, and failing to open again.
The next day arrived as quick as it could come, the morning sun shining on her face, making her let out a soft, yet tired moan to it, her eyes squeezing, and seconds later, a hand coming to block the sun light.
Why was the curtains open again?
Adria got up stretching a few times, before jumping out of the bed.
That was right, she had a party to throw… one for her finally accepting her date here and boy, was it going to be good.
She walked into her closet room, it was empty, and dusty.
The place looked like it had been abandoned, and she needed to hire people to clean it up. That, she could do when out.
Adria stepped into the bathroom, her eyes still slightly weighing with sleep.
She had to accept the reality that she was now, Adria Cadell, the CEO to Paradise valley, and the one who was going to use this opportunity to set things right.
Adria came out few minutes later, the bathroom steaming with steam, and a towel around her body.
A bath always did the job. Adria thought while heading to her box, unzipping it and pulling out a lovely blue dress, shopping would equally be nice… Adria, had no sense in fashion.
The cloth dropped, reviling the disgusted look she had on.
Few were good, but not all were to her liking.
Adria threw on the clothe, looking at her reflection through the mirror, and trying to force a smile on, for some reason… it never worked.
"Mother!" she turned, and adverted her eyes away, grabbing a coat and her car.
It was sad Javen had to take a brake… the door opened and Adria headed down stairs.
"Yes?" Samantha came out of the kitchen with a smile, and that made Adria pause for a bit.
"I'd be heading to somewhere… before I come back, few workers would be here to clean here up… please be ready." Samantha nodded, and headed back into the kitchen.
Adria raced to her car, opening the door, and zooming off to a shopping mall.
It was small, but it screamed high class.
The bell above the door, sprung into loud noises as she opened the door, making it known she was here.
The person behind the counter immediately wore a smile on, the fresh smell, of perfumes passing through her nostrils.
"Welcome. How may we help you?" She smiled and Adria remained silent, trying to find a dress she liked.
Her eyes scrolling through many different colors, and styles.
"Is there anything to your liking… Ms.?"
Adria finally stopped at a beautiful red gown, it was sleeveless, yet looked like the holdings was at the chest side, there were no signs of mistakes on it, and it was made to perfection.
Adria turned with a smile.
"I'd take this one."

At last, the party came… and all was invited.
Adria looked as stunning as ever, and all eyes were on her.
"what is the occasion? If I may ask?" Dakota showed up from her back, his hand already holding a glass of champagne.
"I see you already held yourself." Adria fixed her gaze on him.
"You look…" he paused for a moment… admiring her body figure with a cocked brow. "Beautiful."
Adria felt her inside tingle by that word… not of flattery, but if disgust.
Before she could reply to him, the sound of two pair of heels matching up to her, caught her attention.
She turned, and came face-to-face with a blond, she was beautiful… and looked as friendly as she could get.
"Adria… it's lovely to see you back on your feet again." Her face nearly squeezed in confusion.
"Ah," the girl chuckled and placed a hand on her chest. "I equally got the news from doctor Harper, he said you lost your memory?"
Adria chuckled too, nodding at the question. "Have we met?" She turned fully now, her attention fixed mainly on her.
"Where are my manners. My name is Jade… Jade Abalone, it's lovely to meet you, or though we've already met."
