Chapter 7: Chapter 6
William only remembers being so angry a few times in his entire life, what he never did was react like he did.
Of course, when he got angry he could get to the point of doing things directly without caring what they thought of him. He always managed to control himself and maintain total control of his body so that no one knew what he was thinking.
But when he remembered the expression his omega put on while everyone laughed and made fun of her…
"(Breathe… breathe)" -the black-haired man would only do one of his repair exercises- "(I have to find something to concentrate on)"
As Aballay walked, he stopped near a dressing room when he heard the name of his... the omega that caught his attention. When he focused his gaze in that direction he saw an alpha male with brown hair, strong features and a decent build inside a dressing room talking on the phone.
"Alison, please leave your enmity with me aside… I just want to know how Erika is… I know she's not… wait, don't hang up!!" -the brown-haired man would sigh exasperated while looking at his cell phone with some annoyance-
"You, what is your name?" -William would ask at the same time he entered the dressing room as if he were the owner, forcing the other alpha to look away from his cell phone and jump back in fright- "I won't repeat it"
"Hey. Elias. Elias Efton. Sir"
"Well Elias… a few moments ago I couldn't help but listen to a conversation that caught my attention… specifically the one you had on your cell phone where you mentioned Erika" -William would get a little closer being face to face with the aforementioned- "So tell me… what kind of relationship do you have with her?" -taking advantage of the fact that he is an alpha of greater authority, he decides to use that to get all the information he can because he no longer feels like playing mind games-
"I'm just an acquaintance… I'm in the band as the guitarist" -the eyes of the now-called guitarist become glassy as he answers with a neutral voice-
The black-haired man would raise an eyebrow slightly, now much more interested.
"Bentral" -William would call his trusted man without breaking eye contact with Elias- "please, locate Albares and make sure he doesn't think that running away while we're gone seems like a good idea until he finishes our conversation"
At the order, without hesitation, Bentral would nod and walk out the door, disappearing after he closed the door seeking to fulfill what he was asked to do.
"Now… tell me everything you know about Erika Belion" -he gestures to Elias to continue and, after a small pause, he does-
"Erika Belion is a 26-year-old single omega with 2 younger sisters whom she takes care of as if they were her daughters. Melina, 6 years old, and Rose, 4 years old. She's fighting with her parents because they're both trash. He likes the smell of tulips and jasmine, his favorite desserts are strawberry shortcake and apple pie. His biggest confidants are Alison Hébert, an alpha, and Emma Bernet, a beta. Both are a couple who occasionally invite a third, usually an omega, to have a special moment. Erika has just run away home alone, so both Alison and Emma went after her to follow her and make sure she arrived safe and sound…"
"Mr. William, what a joy it is to see you again!" -Albares would say, entering with his head held high despite keeping his eyes on the ground and a smile torn by anxiety-
William can't tell if he feels angry or enraged when Albares makes his entrance, with Bentral following just a few steps behind.
"I brought Mr. Albares for you, sir… I'm sorry I can't keep him out but he insisted and came in without warning or asking permission" -he would say the first in a firm tone but the last would be whispered embarrassed-
"Ah, Mr. Aballay, you put on a show in the living room! Quite a show of dominance!!" -Albares extends his hand forward waiting for William to shake hands, but not receiving even a glance he lowers it letting out a small cough in discomfort-
"Great" -William rolls his eyes in disinterest and then fixes them on Elias- "do you have the number we talked about?" -at the question the brown-haired man nodded causing an imperceptible smile from Aballay who took paper and pencil out of one of the pockets of his trench coat and handed them to him- "write them down for me"
While Elias makes the request, William glances at Albares seeing how the anxious smile was replaced by a frown.
Since he was little, William learned to read people exceptionally well, to understand how to detect their weaknesses, habits, reactions, instincts, and any type of information to predict and foresee when someone is lying to him.
And Albares seems even more of a clown than usual. Standing frozen by the shame and agitation of being ignored in favor of someone he doesn't know, just staying in place without commenting because of the fear always present on his face despite his best but pathetic attempts to hide it.
"Sit down" -to his small credit Albares does so a few moments after realizing that he was talking to him, looking on the verge of a fit behind his fixed smile- "you can go Elias… just keep our little conversation a secret… for your good"
"Of course… goodbye Mr. Aballay" -the brown alpha would nod several kisses and then run off slamming the door on his way out, causing a silent mockery from the alpha with greater authority-
William focuses all his attention on Albares, who staggers a little now that he has so much pressure on his shoulders.
"So you were among all the offspring that I silenced… tell me, by any chance you weren't one of the most enthusiastic in expressing your opinion, right?" -at the question Aballay saw how Albares was paralyzed while starting to sweat cold-
"No, o-of course not… I would never show up for such b-barbaric things as denigrating an omega in her most deplorable moment. I…"
"Vulnerable… it's called vulnerable. Not deplorable" -William would stand up from his seat and be in front of Albares who would now look at him with genuine fear- "and how curious that you say that you would never show up for that kind of thing… because I would swear that I recognized your voice in a very particular insult"
"T-there must be some kind of mistake… I s-swear that"
"I could train you very well, puppy… you are a very pretty puppy!!... You were the one who shouted those same words" -what the black-haired man said would chill Albares' bones who would look with despair as Bentral positioned himself on the only exit of the place hearing a loud click- "it seems to me that in addition to collecting what you owe us, I will have to collect what you said so freely… then, how about half a million for each damn word?"
