Chapter 155: Chapter 155 ⟴ Questioning Life
Three hours — a full three hours!
Subaru stared at the wall, questioning his life choices.

Kishibe from the Public Safety Devil Hunter Division was also questioning his life choices.
As he sat in the Tokyo Devil Hunters Division office, information about the Shibuya district's Smallpox Deity appeared before him.
The blurry photograph showed a giant mushroom cloud rising ominously.
This clearly surpassed what ordinary Sorcerers were capable of.
"As expected of the one hailed as the strongest Sorcerer in history! The domain radius of one kilometer is terrifyingly vast, and to possess a slashing technique — the most lethal of Innate Techniques." Kishibe put down the photograph and glanced out the window.
Checking his wristwatch again, more than three hours had passed.
"The Gun Devil's flesh should have been secured by now. Why haven't they returned? Did something go wrong?"
With Daiki's spatial ability, who could possibly detain him? He could leave any area in an instant.
Kishibe hadn't yet discovered the limitations of the Spatial Transference — it seemed Daiki could travel anywhere with a mere thought.
Who wouldn't envy such a powerful ability?
"Gun Devil's flesh... What is Makima collecting it for? What deal has she made with the Cabinet Minister?"
The thought of entrusting the world's future to Devils was laughable.
Kishibe stood by the window, lighting a cigarette, his gaze cold and calm.
The strongest Devil Hunter's commanding presence was unmistakable.
As he contemplated the future, the division's door burst open. Bone-chilling gunshots rang out before he could react.
Masked terrorists stormed through the Devil Hunters Division's entrance, wielding guns of terrifying destructive power.
These weren't ordinary firearms.
They were weapons imbued with the Gun Devil's power, capable of tearing through supernatural forces.
Though they looked like regular guns, these weapons could pierce through Cursed Energy defenses — even Shikigami summoned by Onmyōji would fall when shot.
Kishibe, the "Strongest Devil Hunter", instantly tensed as his pupils contracted.
"Devil flesh! Devil flesh! Devil flesh! Tell me where the Gun Devil's flesh is hidden!" An arrogant youth fired wildly into the Division.
Division members caught in the open were riddled with bullets. Even those behind cover fell to the Devil-powered bullets, their eyes frozen wide in death.
"Damn it!" Rage burned in Kishibe's heart.
He flanked around to the group's rear and threw a powerful punch.
Bang!
A cone-shaped white shockwave exploded.
Blood and brain matter burst and splattered instantly. The fierce fist tore through the air with a sharp sonic boom.
"That's enough! Don't think you can rampage just because you have two guns." Kishibe coldly stamped out his cigarette, his leg muscles coiling with power.
His whole body shot forward like an arrow, black coat billowing behind him.
Before the nearest terrorist could pull the trigger, Kishibe had already appeared before him, landing an uppercut that produced a bone-shattering crack.
He seized the gun from his opponent's hands and opened fire on the others.
His fierce counterattack devastated the mob. Even their arrogant leader took six bullets, stumbling back against the wall, eyes fixed on Kishibe as he casually discarded the gun.
"Tell me — who sent you to steal the Devil Flesh from the Devil Hunters Division?" Kishibe calmly turned around, lighting another cigarette against the wind, dismissively turning his back on the fallen youth.
"You..." The wounded youth glared at the man's back with vicious intent.
Seizing his opponent's moment of inattention, he ripped off his left palm.
In that instant, a terrifying Devil aura sent a chill down Kishibe's spine.
The aura of Gun Devil's flesh — mixed with a strange hybrid of human and Devil presence.
The sharp glint made Kishibe straighten his posture, his cold eyes narrowing with focus.
Before he could fully turn around, the devil-human had assumed his strongest stance.
Slash!
The two passed each other like lightning.
Blood sprayed from Kishibe's chest as grotesque cross-shaped blade wounds nearly pierced his heart.
"Hehehe... eating the Gun Devil's flesh wasn't wasted after all! Just one percent let me surpass you, the strongest Devil Hunter — so the Gun Devil's legend must be true, right?" The arrogant youth, no longer in human form, spoke with a twisted smile.
Sharp blades extended from his palms, and his human head had transformed into a blade form that reflected an ice-cold light.
{T/N: The original form of this guy was enchanced, so he probably have a contract with the Blade Devil or something similar.}
Gun Devil! Renowned as the strongest, most brutal Devil in history!
The exact source of information has been lost to time. The Gun Devil's true form had never appeared in human history — from its first appearance, it existed only as pieces of flesh.
Any Devil that consumed Gun Devil flesh would gain enhancement.
It rivaled the Special Grade Cursed Object Sukuna's Finger in the Jujutsu World.
It was even more terrifying than Sukuna's fingers. While most of those were sealed as Special Grade Cursed Objects, the Gun Devil's flesh had no such seals, and its quantity was absurdly large.
It was said that gathering 100% of the Gun Devil's flesh would allow the summoner to resurrect the Gun Devil and control it unconditionally, wielding the strongest Devil without any price!
However, this remained an unverified legend.
Kishibe couldn't believe these reckless fools had dared to attack the Public Safety Devil Hunter Division based on mere rumors.
A disturbing intelligence report came to mind: organizations worldwide were gathering Gun Devil flesh and funneling it to a single powerful entity.
Could they truly be planning to resurrect and control the Gun Devil?
While it was fortunate that Daiki hadn't yet delivered the Gun Devil flesh, the Devils imprisoned in the division's depths posed their own grave threat if released.
Kishibe's breathing quickened as the Blade Man pushed deeper into the division.
Suddenly, a mysterious figure appeared.
With nothing but an icy stare, the figure turned and pointed at the Blade Man from a distance.
An explosive blast tore through the division's depths.
Boom!!
A body hurtled from the division like a ragdoll!
The Blade Man, now bloodied and covered in shattered blades, collapsed into the rubble.
Kishibe watched in stunned silence as the mysterious figure calmly retrieved the Gun Devil's flesh.
The division's survivors emerged to manage the aftermath.

Meanwhile, inside the Busujima dojō, Subaru stood dumbfounded.
Despite her legs being too weak to stand, Saeko had somehow managed to unleash Black Flash.
Though she hadn't fully mastered the multi-dimensional refraction Tsubame Gaeshi, her sword strikes already displayed remarkable sharpness.
Most incredibly, her Cursed Energy had suddenly broken through to Grade 3 Sorcerer level, and her physical constitution had evolved to a new level in this short time!
