Was it tied to technical milestones? Public reception? The innovation of a fully 3D arcade fighting game? Or was it something completely abstract, a cosmic roll of the dice?

Zaboru closed his eyes and exhaled slowly, letting the possibilities swirl in his mind. If there was a pattern, it was one only the universe knew—and it wasn't in the mood to share answers just yet.

Zaboru then leaned back, reflecting on the first ability he ever received after reincarnating into this world. This ability elevated all his physical and mental capabilities to superhuman levels. His endurance skyrocketed. His strength increased dramatically. His mind operated with faster speed. Most impressively, he no longer needed a full night's rest—just two hours of sleep was enough to keep him fully energized. It was as if his body and mind had been fine-tuned into a perfectly efficient machine. From that moment on, Zaboru became an unstoppable force at the helm of ZAGE.

Next, when the ZGB was released, he received another ability called Aura of Influence, which has 3 different effects:

Concepts click faster, mistakes are reduced, and progress becomes rapid—even with complex or abstract topics. Whether he's mentoring a rookie developer or training a seasoned pro, Zaboru's guidance feels like unlocking hidden potential in others.Aura of Influence – Z Persona: Whenever he uses the Z-Helmet, other people might perceive him not just as Zaboru, but as the larger-than-life figure known as Zabo-man. This dramatic shift in perception has led to theories suggesting that Zaboru might not be a single individual, but a collective of person. When he wear the helmet, his aura changes so significantly that he seems like a completely different person.Aura of Influence – On My Lead: This aura spreads Zaboru's intense work ethic to everyone at the ZAGE offices. When active, it inspires employees to work harder and stay focused—without causing burnout or health issues. It doesn't function like brainwashing; instead, it amplifies motivation. However, if someone is feeling especially lazy or unmotivated, the aura's effects may be significantly reduced.

The last ability he gained came after Zaboru initiated the ZAGE World Expansion meeting. He acquired Game Scanning Eye, a power that lets him see people's stats—their aptitude in both developing and playing games. However, Zaboru rarely uses it, wary that it could cloud his judgment. The ability's criteria are ambiguous, and Zaboru firmly believes in the potential for growth and change in everyone. Because of that, he prefers not to rely on it when evaluating others.

Following the release of Tekken, Zaboru gained a new ability called Emulator Mind. This power lets him emulate a fully functional PC inside his mind, allowing him to debug, code, and create software in a virtual environment. The emulated PC can mimic any machine he chooses—if he wants it to operate like his office PC, it will replicate it perfectly. Within this mental workspace, Zaboru can work at accelerated speeds, writing and testing code far faster than in the real world. Once finished, he can manually transfer everything he developed in the Emulator Mind into a physical PC.

"This really might be a game-changing ability," Zaboru thought, recalling his long plane trips to the USA—hours that usually went to waste. When traveling alone, he typically spent the time sketching to sharpen his dexterity and drawing skills. But now, with this new power, he could simply close his eyes and appear to sleep while his mind worked on building a game. Thanks to Deep Memory Dive, he wouldn't forget a single detail of what he created. Inside the Emulator Mind, he could move and think at accelerated speeds. Lines of code didn't need to be typed—they formed instantly, driven by the pace of his thoughts. His Enlightenment ability only amplified that speed, pushing his mind to process at an even higher level.

Zaboru decided to test the ability for the first time. To activate it, he had to close his eyes and fully relax, allowing his consciousness to shift into the Emulator Mind. However, he quickly discovered a significant drawback—any external disturbance immediately broke the immersion. To confirm this, he conducted a simple test using an alarm clock. As soon as the alarm rang, his Emulator Mind session was abruptly cut short, yanking him back into the real world.

Despite this vulnerability, Zaboru was impressed. The level of mental clarity and creative control during the short session had been extraordinary. "So it's not really like virtual reality," he muttered, thoughtful. "It's more like a deep meditative state... pure focus. That's actually kind of neat."

Zaboru then chuckled. "Too bad I can't copy everything from Emulator Mind directly into the real world, huh? If I could, and people found out, they'd probably think I was some kind of freak." He laughed again, half amused, half resigned. The truth was, most of his abilities were deeply internal—tools for thinking faster, remembering more, creating in isolation. The only one that ever touched others directly was Aura of Influence, and even that wasn't anywhere near something like hypnosis. It just nudged people, helped them focus a bit more, try a little harder. Nothing mind-bending.

Zaboru grinned. "I wonder what the actual trigger is? Or is it just completely random? Maybe it's the latter." He bit into a cookie, then took a slow sip of his coffee, the steam rising like a quiet metaphor for his racing thoughts. "Still, this ability is seriously dangerous. If I'm not careful, I could lose myself in it. I might become obsessed—some kind of maniac constantly working inside my own head."

He leaned back in his chair, his expression tightening with resolve. "I can't let it control me. I need balance. I need real rest, not just mental overdrive. And I need time with my loved ones. That's not negotiable." Zaboru remembered the hurt in Ayumi's eyes when he ignored her, and the helplessness he felt when his mother was ill. He didn't want to become some hyper-efficient machine chasing success at the cost of everything else. He wanted to remain human—someone capable of loving and being loved, someone who could be present for the people who mattered most.

Zaboru nodded to himself, sealing the thought like a personal contract. "I'll reserve this ability for those in-between moments—when I'm traveling alone, especially on those long USA flights. That's when it makes sense. Otherwise, it stays off."

He understood the temptation. The power was seductive—limitless mental workspace, ultra-fast productivity, no physical constraints. But he also knew his priorities. These abilities were tools, not masters. He would use them intentionally, not compulsively.

And with this resolve, Zaboru knew he'd just added another true game-changer to his arsenal—one that would give ZAGE a sharper edge in development, without costing him his humanity.

"Besides, ZAGE is already picking up speed, and I've noticed that technology in this world is advancing rapidly in certain sectors," Zaboru mused. "But that's fine. It's not like I can control everything—and I don't need to. I have to let go of the things beyond my control. If someday companies like NVIDIA and AMD, which I've invested in, fall short compared to their counterparts in my previous world, then so be it. I'll just adapt."

He chuckled quietly to himself, the weight on his shoulders momentarily lightened. Then he made a decision: after 7:30 p.m. today, he would take Ayumi and his family out to a great restaurant. It was time to unwind, connect, and simply enjoy life.
