Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies

Bai Meiyue watched Bai Feng, who was helping the soldiers in expanding the safe zone, and her eyes flashed with mockery. She wanted to see how long Bai Feng would be able to keep this up.

At first glance, there was nothing wrong with what was happening. Bai Feng was dealing with the zombies along with his team, and the soldiers helped him by backing him up. It was a rather warm scene in the eyes of others. After all, even though the soldiers were not ability users, they were sympathetic and worried about Bai Feng and his team.

Because they didn't want to burden Bai Feng, they were willing to fight alongside him. But!

However, Bai Meiyue, who was sitting inside the RV, sneered when she saw the sight in front of her. Only fools would believe that these soldiers were not using Bai Feng. For someone like Bai Meiyue, who had seen the true face of these guards and commanders in her past life, she knew that they were indeed using Bai Feng.

They were not charging along with Bai Feng, but instead, they were using him by making him charge forward. While they stayed behind and only shot the zombie who attacked them when Bai Feng was not paying attention. They were making use of Bai Feng's skills to expand the scope of their base and that too for a limited supply of resources.

"Nothing has changed," Bai Meiyue muttered as she looked at the soldiers using Bai Feng. Even in her past life, these bases were built using the bones and blood of the ability users. The chiefs and commanders of the safe zone would send the ability users to expand the safe zone. Of course, they would also make a few soldiers accompany them but that was only to make the commoners look at them with admiration.

In reality, these soldiers were nothing but a burden that the ability user needed to bring with them and even protect with their lives.

In the driver's seat, Bai Zhan continued to drive past the crowd of zombies while Bai Jixuan took out the rifle that he brought with him. Every time a zombie came close to their RV, he would shoot it right in the centre of its head.

As they approached the baseline of the safe zone, Bai Zhan raised his hand and made a sign to the soldiers who were guarding the baseline. As soon as he made the gesture, the soldier guarding the checkpoint immediately opened the barricade and let them drive out of the safe zone.

Once Bai Zhan drove past the checkpoint, they ran into Bai Feng, who was sitting in his shiny car. However, neither of them stopped to talk with him.

But Bai Feng, who was standing beside his car, was about to open the door and slide into his car, but then he saw the gigantic RV driving past him. When he saw the countless RVs driving one after another, he stared at the countless doctors and nurses who were sitting inside the RVs.

And at the very last RV, his eyes fell on Bai Meiyue, who glanced at him, but only for a second. Then she turned her head away and didn't look at him again. For a second, Bai Feng was certain that she wanted to say something to him, but when she opened her mouth, she seemed to have thought of something and then changed her mind at the last moment.

Seeing this, Bai Feng opened his mouth to speak, but by then the RV had already driven away. He stared at the RV that had turned around the corner and watched it disappear silently. Once it was gone, he got into his own car and then led his team away. However, as he drove back, his eyes flashed with a myriad of emotions that no one could catch.

As the two of them separated, they had no idea that from here on out, they would be running in opposite directions, for different materials and ambitions, which meant that from here on out, they would have different philosophies and pursuits.

And from then on, the chances of them getting together like they did in the past were going to become almost negligible. Something that they would regret very soon.

Bai Meiyue and her convoy soon arrived at another hospital, which was a bit further from the one where they found Shen Zhen. Although the number of zombies was high, it was still controllable. With her brothers by her side, Bai Meiyue was able to control the situation very easily. It didn't take long for them to clear up the zombies.

Soon they burst inside the hospital, and zombies that were hiding inside the building rushed at them in ones or twos.

Bai Jixuan dealt with them as he had gotten used to shifting into different beast forms. It didn't take long for him to deal with the zombies, along with Bai Zhan, who could now turn his entire body into metal. Thus, he didn't have to worry about being bitten by zombies anymore. All he needed was to charge in front of others and protect them.

Whenever a zombie tried to bite him, it could only gnaw on Bai Zhan without doing any harm to him.

With Bai Meiyue helping them by clearing the zombies with the help of her water serpent, the doctor and nurses charged ahead and started killing the zombies. Even though they were not used to it, they knew that if they wanted to survive, they had no other choice but to face their fears.

Even Shen Zhen gritted her teeth and continued to chop down the zombies that tried to attack her. With them working together, it didn't take long for the zombies in the reception to be cleaned up.

They then moved to other floors and killed the zombies one by one. Once they were done dealing with the zombies, they started to pack up the medical supplies.
