Aria Of The Cursed Dragon

The newly arrived Titan roared at the Armored Titan while stomping it's feet in the ground.

The Scout members were frozen in fear by the events that had transpired but the loud roar broke them out of their reverie as they rushed inside the gate while not forgetting to close the gate.

They didn't understand why the Titan's were fighting against each other but they didn't have the luxury to care as the situation was too dangerous for them to delay even a single moment.

And with a last look at the Silver haired Titan they rushed away.

Armored Titan slowly got up from the ground as it faced off against the newly arrived foe...

Few minutes ago....

' Titan shifter ' That was the thought in Siegfried's mind as he saw the Armored Titan.

Siegfried knew he couldn't delay or else those men at the gate would die and the North Gate would fall.

He remembered what happened with Grisha and the gift he had given him.....

Flashback....

" Sieg I need your help " Grisha said in a solemn tone as he had visions about Siegfried and although he couldn't understand what it was about ... One thing was clear , he had to pass the Attack Titan to Siegfried.

" What is it ? " Siegfried also had a serious expression as he was willing to do as much as he could to help his friend.

Even at a time like this Grisha had come to confide in him , which showed the amount of trust the man had in him.

" Sieg as I have told you before , I am an Eldian from beyond the walls who was given the Attack Titan and the mission to take the Founding Titan from the Royal family..." Grisha said in a measured tone as he still remembered the slaughter he committed.

But Siegfried's words did have an effect in comforting him. It's either them or him , it was a matter of survival.

Siegfried listened to Grisha without interrupting him.

" I was successful in completing my mission but being a Titan shifter lowers one's lifespan and I don't have much more time to live .. " Grisha said in a resigned tone causing Siegfried's mood to sour.

" Grisha..." Siegfried wanted to say something but he didn't know what to say.

" It's allright Siegfried, I knew what I was getting into ... And I don't regret it ..." Grisha said with a tone filled with relief as he was able to smile despite his grim fate making Siegfried sport a resigned smile on his face.

" Sieg I wish to pass on the power of the Attack Titan and Founder to you .... " Grisha said in a solemn tone making Siegfried's eyes widen in disbelief.

" Grisha!.."

" Sieg please help me out .." Grisha said in a pleading voice.

" Haah! Even if I wanted to ... I don't think I could because I am not an Eldian in the first place " Siegfried said with a bitter sigh as he didn't want to 'eat' his friend and he didn't even think he could inherit the Titan power which was connected to Eldians.

" This ... But the visions shouldn't be wrong..... A-Are you sure there is no other way ? " Grisha asked in a desperate tone as his visions were about Siegfried inheriting the Attack Titan but if he wasn't an Eldian then how , surely he should have a way, if he didn't then all of it would be for vain. He would have to shift his will to his son , forcing it in to him would be a cruel decision as a father and he didn't think Eren would be able to protect Carla or Mikasa if he inherited the powers and he had already lost one son in trying to force his ambitions.

" I..." Siegfried gritted his teeth as there was a way , he didn't know if it would work but Grisha would die.

" I don't want to kill you Grisha..." Siegfried clutched his face as his words contained a hint of pain.

Grisha who heard Siegfried's words just smiled as he truly felt fortunate for having a friend like him.

" I don't have much longer to live Sieg .... So let me die by my own terms .." Grisha asked in a pleading tone which caused Siegfried to sport a complicated expression before he let out a resigned sigh.

" Fine " .....

...

" W-Wow.... I didn't expect you to not be human at all " Grisha said in awe and wonder as he gazed at Siegfried who had horns , wings and a tail.

A True demon.

But he wasn't afraid because he knew despite the appearance this was the same Siegfried he knew.

" Are you sure about this ? " Siegfried asked once more because although he knew even without him doing anything Grisha would die , he still didn't want to take his life.

" 100%! let's get it over with ..... Sieg I truly am grateful to have met you ... " Grisha said with a smile as he closed his eyes with a relieved smile.

Siegfried gritted his teeth as he placed his hand on Grisha's shoulder and activated his Devour ability.

His hand sank inside Grisha's body as the latter's skin started became pale and whither at an astonishing pace.

And before long Grisha's body was reduced to nothing as everything was devoured by Siegfried.

Siegfried opened his eyes as he gazed at the stars above with his eyes filled with sadness.

He stretched out his palm as a white ball of light formed on it.

Siegfried gazed at it for a few moments before gently tossing it up.

" Goodbye friend...." ...
