Assassin God: Rise of the Strongest Player

Chapter 16: Chapter 16 : Set for Fiery Marsh

Chapter 16 : Set for Fiery Marsh

Stone and his lackeys each felt a sense of overwhelming fear as soon as they heard the wolves howl. Their faces turned pale with fright and they swallowed loudly, almost dropping to their knees.

"We are done for!" one of them lamented.

The other's hand shook terribly as his composure already failed him. "I knew I shouldn't have come here."

"Ah! It's over!"

"I will lose my character again!"

This was an entire U turn from what they had planned.

Stone and his group had planned to follow Nash to wherever he was going, take whatever it was he would find and kill him.

Now, they were the ones that death stared into the eyes.

While they were in a frenzy of fear, Stone managed to catch a glimpse of a figure staring down at them.

He ground his teeth bitterly immediately he realised who it was.

'That damned Neon!'

Nash stared down at the trio with a smile on his face, as if he was their god delivering judgement on their sinful asses.

He had succeeded in bringing the pack of wolves to them and soon, he vanished without a trace, leaving the canine beasts to pounce on their three unfortunate victims.

Stone and his group couldn't help but scream as they died one after another.

******

Nash made his way straight to where he believed the gift box would be, saying a silent prayer in his heart as he hoped to have made it in time.

He turned in several directions until he came to a cave and then he rested easy. He looked around, searching for footprints or just about any signs of an extra presence of life, but he found nothing.

Nash proceeded to enter the cave and go into its deepest part.

In the deepest part of the cave, Nash caught sight of the treasure he was looking for and he exhaled with relief.

It was still there, sitting pretty on a large stone as sunlight from the top of the cave shone down on it gloriously.

Nash approached and was even happier when he realised that it was a bronze chest.

At the same time, he was a bit worried because the higher the grade of the gift box, the higher the chance that it was sealed.

To open a sealed gift box was another mission on its own entirely.

Gift boxes had grades of different kinds from wood boxes to copper, bronze, silver, gold and so on.

Fortunately, this particular box that Nash stared at was not sealed.

He could see the contents inside.

The entire thing was filled with copper coins in a large number, easily stretching beyond a thousand.

On top of the heap of coins were two other items—a ring that flashed with a golden light and a skill book.

Nash was elated.

"Yes!" he screamed. Even if he was not successful with finding an item that offered fire resistance, he was happy with the two items he got here because they looked quite interesting and good.

Nash's heart pounded with excitement. To find a skill book was definitely a thing of luck as many players would have to enter the wild or dungeons for that, or in some cases, learn from an NPC who already possessed the skill.

Skill books were more advanced than skill scrolls because they gave players rare skills or some special abilities.

Nash exhaled and rubbed his hands like someone about to eat a delicious meal.

[Skill book: Art of Potion Making (Low Level)]

Description: This skill book contents the art and teachings of how to make low level life potions. After mastering it, players can produce and refine potions of such quality using the required materials.

'Not bad,' Nash thought as he equipped the skill book immediately.

Learning the art of potion making at this level was going to save him a lot of coins. After all, the recovery potions that were sold in the village were all slow types that built HP back with time like the low level life bread, low level tonic that returned 5 HP per second for 5 seconds.

In addition to that, he also had the ability to refine the potions and increase their efficacy.

The more he thought about it, the happier he got.

This meant that he could make instant recovery potions with his skill.

Slow HP building recovery potions were useless in highly intensive situations where there was no time to rest but that did not apply to potions that built back HP instantly. The difference in advantage between the two was vast and the value of the instant potions was many times greater than their counterparts.

Sitting in a meditative lotus position, Nash learned the entire skill from the skill book.

[You have mastered the art of potion making (low level)]

[Consume a piece of low level tonic and three wolf liver to refine a bottle of low level life potions]

[Low level life potion: Instant recovery, restores 100 HP. (Cooldown time: 15 seconds)]

"The requirements aren't the type that are hard to find. I will make a few bottles first when I get back later," he said before switching to the second item that was floating in his vision.

[Gold Ring]

Level: 1

Rank: Rare

Attributes: +3 fire resistance

Nash was overjoyed at this point. He knew he could find something useful in this place and he did.

Without wasting time, Nash laid the ring into his [Enhancement Wheel] and shortly after, the ring was enhanced, gaining two additional points to its fire resistance attributes.

He had checked on the boxes on their preparation for the [Fiery Marsh] and even if Eileen did not succeed on her end, it did not matter anymore. With this ring on her finger, her fire resistance will be at 5 points.

He then picked up all the copper coins from the gift box, putting them in his inventory.

When he was done, Nash quickly sent Eileen a text, bringing her up to speed on the situation of things with information he wanted her to know.
