Chapter 93: Conquering It All!
"Good shit," Knox remarked. "If only I could find a few more fat pigs like that one to loot."
Just then, a softness smashed into him. He turned around to see what it was, only to facepalm at the sight of a pink ahoge hair happily dancing atop a crazy girl's head.
"Darling, I just knew you loved me~!" Cela squirmed, her ample curves pressing up against Knox. "You saved me~! You LOVE me~!!"
"No," Knox denied as he pushed away the clingy girl. "I simply didn't want to let you die when I still owe you for that pill you gave me a few years ago. That's all, so don't go and overthink anything."
"Yes, of course, my Love! I won't disclose the fact that you Love me as well!!"
Knox helplessly stared at the pink-haired yandere. "Why do I even bother…?"
"Because you care about me too much to properly quantify~!?"
"You…" Knox sighed, redirecting his focus elsewhere. "The show's over, folks, so unless you want my autograph, you should scurry back home."
His words were meant for all the spectators, which included every single remaining Trial Taker—a number totaling less than 30.
Those were all that remained after the murder spree that had just occurred…
Sensing a bit of killing intent, Knox shifted his golden eyes to the icy-cold, beautiful woman garbed in the Water Deity Sect's attire.
"You want to have a private one-on-one session or something, lady? If so, then just give the word, and I'll open up my schedule. However, if not…" His expression froze over. "I suggest you vacate yourself from my sight. If not, then I might just lose control of my urges and devour you for everything you're worth."
"Scum…!" Nala growled, using unparalleled restraint to hold herself back. "If you let me go today, then I swear you'll regret it!"
Knox chuckled. He dismissively waved his hand, motioning to the world beyond. "Listen, I really want to care, but I just don't," he laughed. "Maybe if it was the me of before, I would've taken the threat you pose to me seriously, but now… well, your hatred for me is inconsequential. If you keep to yourself, I won't bother you. If you dumbly try to attack me, I'll just kill you and be done with it."
Nala simmered in rage, but what more could she do beyond scowling and growling?
She saw it. Everyone saw it.
Knox's strength. A level of power that defied common sense. One that shouldn't ever belong to a cultivator in the Core Formation Realm.
Little did they know that Knox's main source of power originated not from his Technique Comprehensions or his Saint-ranked Prospects.
No, what truly made him a monster were his—
Attributes!
With most of them being in the billions range, not even Late Soul Formation Realm experts were his match. Moreover, the gap between him and such cultivators only widened when he activated all of his abilities and unique qualities.
Sooner or later, none within the Soul Formation Realm would be his match. And by then, he'd no longer have to worry about the forces that opposed his continued existence in the Elemental Nations.
'They've surely heard of me already,' Knox internally thought while flashing a suggestive smirk in Princess Maya's direction. He did the same thing for his fiancée—a sneaky woman who really believed she could stay hidden from him. 'And with how many enemies I've made for myself in the Nations, it surely won't take very much for them to coerce the others who yearn for my possessions. With a collaboration like that, I very much doubt that it'll be possible to easily escape the Secret Realm's entrance area.'
So, to avoid a potential death-flag route, Knox had only one choice before him.
Become strong enough to single-handedly fend off the most powerful entities in the Elemental Nations!
A ludicrous notion that would, at the very minimum, require him to possess Battle Power of the Half-step Soul Transformation Realm.
To advance to that from his current standing in the peakmost stages of the Late Soul Formation Realm seemed like a simple feat, but it was anything but.
In all honesty, Knox had no idea if he could actually pull off something so crazy.
But the least he could do was give it his best shot!
'It's either that or death and possible torture,' Knox lamented. 'And as much as I'm sure the System will appreciate the 'Character Development' garnered from getting my shit rocked, I think I'll pass.'
[Booo!]
'Shut it.'
[Meanie, blegh!]
Knox zoned out his annoyingly personable System, instead doing his best to do what the 2nd Trial demanded of him.
Building up a Kingdom so as to become the most powerful one in the King's Grounds by the end of the five-month-long period!
Working toward that goal and then some, Knox ceaselessly conquered territories—doing so while also comprehending more of his two Half-Saint Rank Techniques as well as progressing his cultivation.
— ~ 5000 or so years later (From Knox's perspective) ~ —
"My liege!"
The boisterous shout of a large, imposing man pierced through the silence of halls so massive that entire cities could fit inside them. An immortal-like young man sat on a throne located at the very end of these halls. On all sides of him were millions upon millions of soldiers, each bowing their heads in reverence.
"What is it, Bemon?" came the voice of the young man on the throne. "Time is running thin, so make it quick."
"Yes, my Liege!" replied Bemon. "I've come to report the invasion of the Hallowmen from the Misty Peninsula! They've brought with them their whole army, which includes hundreds of Soul Formation Realm and countless Nascent Soul Realm cultivators!!"
"Ho?" Knox raised a brow, holding the armrest of his throne a little harder. "In all my time as ruler of this Empire, I've brought us to the very pinnacle of this world. The Eastern Region, the Floating Continent, the Center Continent—I've conquered it all!"
His booming voice created premonitions of a mighty figure standing atop the world. A phenomenon that left his subordinates and minions gawking and silently praising to themselves.
