Chapter 11: Chapter 11: What? This Comic Was Drawn by the Lucas!?
Time flowed differently in the comic world, and for Jozu, it had been several months of grueling training. While Might Guy went off on a mission, Jozu continued to push himself.
On this particular day, Jozu surpassed his physical limits for the 37th consecutive time.
Boom!
An indescribable force surged through his body, lighting his eyes with sudden clarity.
"It's time!" he exclaimed, instinctively forming hand seals. The Eight Inner Gates cultivation formula flowed effortlessly through his mind.
"Second Gate: Rest Gate—Open!"
Unlike what one might expect, there were no dramatic visuals, no earth-shattering energy waves, no flashy effects.
Instead, Jozu felt a deep tranquility. His body became a vessel of perfect efficiency—meridians unblocked, energy flowing freely, and fatigue vanishing like a morning mist under the sun.
"So this is it… the Rest Gate," Jozu whispered, a smile spreading across his face. "With this, I can fight endlessly!"
Motivated, he prepared to tackle the Third Gate next. But before that, he needed to locate the specific training scene within the comic world.
Closing his eyes, Jozu visualized the real world and willed himself out of the comic.
When Jozu reappeared in the real world, Marco had just finished reading The Legend of Might Guy.
"Wow…" Marco muttered, thoroughly impressed by the story and the protagonist's unyielding willpower.
Before he could process his thoughts, a flash nearby startled him. "What the—?!"
Marco spun around to find Jozu standing there, as if materializing out of thin air.
"Hey, Jozu! How did you just… appear like that?!" Marco's expression was a mix of shock and curiosity.
Jozu chuckled. "Oh, right. I forgot to tell you. I've been training inside the comic world. My strength's improved again!"
"What?!" Marco gawked. "You've improved? In just a few hours?!"
"Well, in the real world, yes. But I've been training for months in the comic world," Jozu explained with a grin.
"Months?!" Marco staggered back, clutching his head. "Are you telling me this comic lets you train for months while only a few hours pass here?!"
"Exactly!" Jozu said, clearly pleased. "Now, you've finished the comic, right? I'll teach you how to enter the comic world to practice."
Marco frowned. "Hold on. Teach me how to get in? First, where's my Eight Inner Gates training? I just finished the comic, and… nothing!"
Jozu tilted his head. "Nothing? But the training method should've appeared in your mind after reading it."
"Nope. Nothing."
Jozu scratched his head, puzzled. "Weird. It worked for me…"
He thought for a moment and then decided, "Fine, I'll just tell you the method myself."
But when Jozu tried to explain, the words wouldn't form. It was as if some invisible force prevented him from articulating the training process.
"What the—?!" Jozu clutched his head in frustration. "I can't explain it! The method is in my mind, but I just can't say it out loud!"
Marco crossed his arms, glaring. "Convenient. So I'm just untalented, huh?"
Jozu grinned sheepishly. "Maybe Might Guy didn't find you worthy?"
"Get lost!" Marco shot back, flipping him the bird.
Despite his jest, Marco felt a pang of insecurity. "Wait… is it possible I really don't have the talent for this?"
As Marco sulked, Jozu suddenly brightened. "I've got it! Lucas is the one who drew this comic. Let's ask him for help!"
"What?!" Marco's head shot up, his eyes wide. "Lucas… drew this comic?!"
"Yeah," Jozu confirmed casually, scratching his head. "You didn't know?"
Marco's jaw hung open in disbelief. "You're telling me this unbelievable, life-changing comic was created by our Lucas?!"
Jozu shrugged. "Why not? He is a genius. Who else could create something like this?"
Marco shook his head, struggling to process the revelation. "Lucas… That guy's a mystery. Fine, let's go find him."
As the two set off to seek Lucas, Marco's thoughts churned. If Lucas really was behind this comic, perhaps there was still hope for him to unlock the secrets of the Eight Inner Gates.
