Chapter 135: The Three's Strength
"Give us a little bit of credit, will you?" hearing the concern on Diluc's voice, not only the two elven beauties, but also the frail-looking Michael, paused for a while as they turn their heads towards him, a smile of confidence filling their face as they said those words to him, before the mana in the air starts surging and dancing on the spot where the three of them are standing.
The moment that they replied towards Diluc's inquiry, the three of them immediately entered a serious state once again, each and every one of the three preparing in a different, yet similarly intimidating ways.
The elven princess, clearly being a mage, waves her dainty hand making the surrounding's ambient mana dance around her joyfully, deep, mossy green magic circle along with a light green magic circle surrounding her as she does so, two elemental mana, wind and wood, moving excitedly with her every move.
Seeing that her cousin is preparing a big attack, the young elven duchess smiles as she starts her preparation as well, whatever it is that she is planning to use being quite unique as she places her hand right above the stone below them, clearly wanting to grasp something there.
"Hoh… that little elf has quite the interesting spell…"
"I heard she's a martial artist oriented on the earth element only, I thought that was pretty common but this…"
"Manipulation huh… that's why she doesn't have any weapon in her… I thought she has some sort of spatial storage as well…"
While the preparation that Alea is doing sure is eye catching even to the battle-hardened veterans of instructors, the performance of the young elven duchess just right beside her piques their attention more, as it is not every day that they can witness something like this.
Finally finishing her preparation, Alfia smiles as she manages to grab something from the ground, effortlessly lifting it up causing the 'weapon' she made to cast shadow beneath them as it blocks quite a lot of the sun, the absurd size of the 'sword' she is holding causing some of the older students who are fellow martial artists like her to drop their jaws in disbelief.
"You're fucking kidding me, right?"
"All that strength in that kind of body!??"
"There are monsters everywhere for this batch of juniors…"
Watching as the lady lift up a great sword shaped lump or rock with its blade more than twice her height and width, the audience can only mutter in denial as even some of the students of the higher years had to admit that they aren't capable of lifting such a thing at all, making them wonder just what sort of training this elven lady had gone through in order to reach a physical strength like that.
"Alea, I'll go first, back me up~~" flipping the great sword and carrying it on her shoulders, Alfia declared as she looks at the elven princess now looking at her as well, the smile on both their faces a clear indication that they had done this so many times before, hence why their next course of action comes off as if it is in practiced unison.
Bending her knees a bit before flexing her long legs, Alfia's smile changes as it incorporates a hint of violence to it, a smile that made the ones approaching them feel chills running down their spine, almost as if they are being eyed by a predator that they wouldn't be able to handle easily at all.
"Go~ I have your back~~" looking at the smile on her cousin's face, Alea assured with a nod before continuing on whatever spell it is that she is channeling, her words prompting Alfia to finally let herself explode, leaping up from her spot launching high into the air, the force from her jump leaving a noticeable dent on the supposed to be indestructible spires.
As she watches the cheeky elven beauty reach the highest point of her jump, Alea immediately waves her hand, one of the magic circles hovering just around her glowing as wind elemental mana starts concentrating from her spot towards somewhere around Alfia, something that the young elven duchess immediately sensed as her body nimbly turns in mid-air, her movements almost near instinctive from observer's eyes.
Feeling like her feet hit something, she knows that it is now time to actually attack those approaching them from below, her lower body once again exploding in power as she launches herself like a spear tearing through the air, and from where she stops for a while before she speeds up, a transparent platform can be seen by those with really good and observant eyes.
'Air platforms huh… really impressive…' watching how Alfia launches herself to their opponents, Diluc smiles, nodding his head as he couldn't help but think of just how synced the mind of these two elven beauties could be for them to perform tricks like this without properly communicating at all.
"I'll follow Alfia" from beside the elven princess, another voice comes out, an androgynous, gentle voice seemingly filled with conviction rather than the usual timidness, making the elven princess fail in recognizing who the owner of the voice is for a few moments.
Without even waiting for her reply, a shadow leapt from the spot where the voice previously come from, moving in a swift, nimble and ghost-like manner making him barely, if noticeable at all in the field, his movements fast enough that he managed to catch up to the accelerating Alfia in just a matter of a few seconds.
Seeing the frail young man moving at the same speed at her, Alfia feels quite baffled as she never expected that this usually timid individual has this side to him, the expression on his face completely different from his usual one making her wonder whether this and that person are the same person at all.
"We're near them, be careful" feeling that the opponents are approaching them as well, Alfia warned as the great sword still on her shoulder starts moving slowly, her free hand now on the weapon's handle as well as she prepares to give these opponents a huge surprise the moment they enter her range.
"Mn…" hearing Alfia's warning, Michael merely nods as he finally pulls out the weapon adorning his waist from the moment that the competition starts, a clear, shining white rapier appearing as it unsheathes, blinding the approaching opponent for a bit from the its glare.
"Hello there, fellow freshmen~~~" finally reaching attacking distance, Alfia said with a sweet smile on her face, further stunning the ones looking at her before they realized that there's no time to be amazed in a battlefield like this, prompting them to prepare whatever offensive or defensive they have before this lady starts her attack, something they failed to do as Alfia speaks once again.
"Also, goodbye there, fellow freshmen~~~" she added as she swung the massive sword in a circle, hitting everyone around her with quite the force that some of them couldn't help themselves from vomiting in place, while some even lose their consciousness despite only being hit in the guts, the result of her attack something that will make the audience doubt whether it is really done by a beauty like her.
As brute and barbaric as it seems, especially for an elf, the young elven duchess clearly is enjoying the way she is fighting, testament to that the satisfied smile on her face, along with the melodic little laughter that she is letting out every time she hits an opponent and either knock them out cold or send them to the distance.
In comparison to her ways, it appears that the usually timid Michael's combat style looks more of an elven origin than that of Alfia's with each of his movements seemingly planned and refined, unable to be seen through by the opponents approaching him as he moves in a swift, precise motion, moving in the smallest of ways while dealing incapacitating blow with each of his strikes.
The frail-young man leaps around here and there, hitting either foreheads, nape, or even guts, making his opponent regret why they even decided to pick a fight on this weaker looking one as they thought that it might be even better for them to receive that barbaric attack from the elven beauty than receive such focused, incapacitating and painful attack from this young man.
"There's another wave coming…" feeling like this is getting more and more annoying as another group of participants moves towards their way, Alfia notified as she clicked her tongue, preparing herself to fight once again before she heard a familiar voice reaching them from quite far away.
"Just stand there you two, it's my turn now~~" with her eyes glowing a verdant green as she observes the battlefield, Alea announces with an authoritative, clearly commanding tone in her voice, involuntarily stopping the two on their tracks, with Alfia's expression changing into pity towards the group of people approaching them.
