Believe In The Weird and Wild (Star vs. the Forces of Evil x Steven U)

Chapter 159: Chapter 146: A Rosey Trip with a Pale Road

Amethyst walked out of her room, yawning as she was hit with the smell of bacon. "Gonna take a while to get used to this after years of moss." She muttered, walking up to their new kitchen, where Moon and River were cooking up breakfast. "Mornin Butterflies!"

"Good marrow Amethyst." River laughed. "How are you this fine morning?"

"Doing quite fine. For once, the world seems to be quiet with Homeworld stuff constantly popping up." Amethyst answered as she lazily laid down on the hardware floor.

"And Mewni seems to be quiet as well." Moon said as she flipped a pancake. "So I don't need to worry about Eclipsa destroying civilization … or Mewman's destroying themselves."

"And while Earth may be a softer dimension, there's still plenty of wild game to hunt!" River said jovially as he laid out what looked like a dead bear. "Skinned this fine beast yesterday, and filled the fridge with enough meat to last a month." Finally, there'd finally be something interesting inside.

"Well that's a familiar sight to wake up to." Star came in with bags under her eyes. "Nice to see you adapting well, dad."

"Star, please don't tell me you stayed up all night talking with Marco." Moon rolled her eyes. "You may not be a princess anymore, but you still have a curfew I'd prefer you keep."

"No, she couldn't go back to sleep after the dream journey." Spoke … Marco, walking in while starting to fix some coffee.

"... Why are you inside of our house?" River already began taking out a kitchen knife. "Speak wisely, or risk losing your tongue and other vital appendages."

"I did nothing Steven and Kelly haven't done." The boy responded instantly.

"Alright, I know River proposed to me at a young age, but I'm pretty sure relationships never moved this fast." The mother said with a glare, fixing a plate and sliding it to Star.

"If you knew half the drama we went through to get to this point, you'd say 'about time'." Star grumbled as she hit her head on the table. "I didn't know these dream powers were so draining. I barely felt like I slept at all."

"What's this about dreamy stuff?" It probably made more sense than the relationship stuffanyway.

"Star dream jumped last night to find some stuff." Steven came down, looking grumpy. "Then knocked me out before she went back to her own bed."

"I believe the words you're looking for are 'you're welcome'." She responded, biting into some sticks of bacon. "The morning's going to be crazy as it is, the last thing we need is you getting paranoid again from lack of sleep."

"I was not that bad last time." Everyone turned to him with 'really' looks. "... Forget it." The boy pouted.

The warp pad lit up, Pearl walking in. "Alright, another corrupted gem bubbled, and to add to the good news, I finally have a case for my cellular phone." They pulled out … a briefcase.

"I'm half tempted to just let you use that for the hilarity itself." Amethyst couldn't help but snort at the idea. "I'll get you an actual cell phone case later, one that won't make you look like you're going to a business meeting everytime you want to make a call."

"You mean she doesn't act like that normally?" Touche Steven, touche. "Hey Pearl, can we talk?"

"Of course." The gem nodded with confusion, holding the case close. "You know you can talk with me about anything."

"Cool cool …" Star drank a large gulp of chocolate milk, before giving a satisfied and apprehensive sigh. "Did you shatter Pink Diamond?" The briefcase was instantly shattered within Pearl's arms, hands moving to her mouth as the gem's pupils shrunk with more fear than when they fought Mina.

"HAHAHAAHAAA!" Amethyst rolled down on the ground, expecting everyone to do the same, only for nothing to happen. "...Wait, you're being serious here?"

"She jumped in my head, we went introspective on the trial the Diamonds held." Steven said as Pearl continued to hold herself tighter. "There was no Pearl around when she was being shattered, we saw Pearl's shadow hold Rose's Sword … and I heard my mom say 'let us never speak of this again'." Steven turned to the gem. "Did she order you to do it, then keep quiet?"

Pearl kept quiet, turning away from everyone as the tension continued to get more and more intense. "Look, we don't need anything complicated here. If you did it, then we're really not in a different position than before." Marco added on. "It would mean Rose still aimed the gun, she just didn't pull the trigger."

Pearl shook in place, looking more and more tense as her arms looked like they were straining. Garnet opened the temple door. "There's a problem with the Crystal Heart."

"I'm on it!" The skinny gem rushed inside of the temple, running into the door as it closed.

"...You did that on purpose." Star grumbled as she glared at the fusion.

"Steven, Star." Garnet looked at the two with a calm expression. "That war messed with Pearl deeply. She was closer to poofing herself before she said anything." Holy shit … Amethyst never realized how bad it was for her.

"Whatever, like I was going to get any satisfying answers." Steven rolled his eyes and focused on his breakfast plate. "It doesn't matter if it was Pearl or Rose. Pink Diamond is still dead, so the Diamonds want me dead."

"True, I just figured we could get something if we solved the mystery." Star muttered as she ate some pancakes. "So what's on the agenda Marco?"

"Town meeting with Nana." He said as he drank some coffee. "So we can make the adults of this town competent."

"I wouldn't call them incompetent, just incredibly obvious or ignorant to the larger events around them." Moon said as she made another stack of pancakes. "It's been a real struggle finding decent bakers for the shop. If the Barriga teen didn't come back when he did, I would've considered burning it all to the ground." Amethyst would have probably grabbed Jana and Popcorn if that was the case.

========================================================================

Moon sat down with the parents of Steven's friend group, Steven's friend group, and the gems inside of 'Kiki's Pizza', with Mayor Nana standing on a chair. "Now, first on the agenda, tourism."

"Are you looking at a money grab?" Star asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No, because of you kids making Beech Creek the center of interdimensional travel, we have a large tourism budget to work with." The lights were turned off, a projector displaying a large sum of money. "Thus we can use this to focus on actual problems, like restaffing the entire police force."

"This place have police?" The girl with a large sweater and braces asked. "Is it like in gravity falls, where it's just two guys driving around doing their own hijinks?"

"No, they gave Star community service once for blowing up a police car." Marco explained. "They also arrested Mr Universe."

"I'm dating a criminal?" Ms Nocedas asked.

"No, no, I swear it wasn't anything bad! My old manager was just being super petty when I wanted to quit my gig." Greg said in a very frantic and nervous sweat.

"And the new cadets will be trained by Marco Diaz, due to his highly skilled experience despite a lack of supernatural powers." Nana went on. "If you're fine with doing it of course."

"Finally, a way to use my fighting prowess without putting myself in danger!" Her daughter's boyfriend cheered. "I never thought it would be possible!"

"That would be very appreciated." Mrs Diaz spoke while patting his head.

"Our boy is training police officers … they grow up so fast." Mr Diaz cried tears.

"I can help with that." One of the new friends of their children, a boy in a white bear cap, raised his hand. "I've been fighting evil and magic since I was ten. I totally can teach proper weapon use and pain endurance."

"That sounds lovely dear." Nana nodded with a smile. "Now, a new thing I wanted to go over is 'emergency bracelets'." She showed off the device. "Originally it was an Emergency app, but that fell through for a surprising number of reasons." She sighed. "This can be used to signal danger and a location."

"It automatically scans the area for danger." The triangle headed boy said as he and a boy with green hair showed off a chart. "We've come to realize that not everyone has everyone's best interest at heart, so this way, the signal will only go out when something or someone is endangering lives, and not just because someone's scared of another person's appearance."

"Heck yeah, now we don't have to keep searching countless dimensions for trouble." Her son's girlfriend cheered.

"Now this next one is more along the lines of cultural exchange." The Mayor continued on. "Surprisingly, thanks to the videos made by Rholnaldo Fryman and Starfan13, it has become easier for those that live outside of Beach Creek to adjust rather well to the odd occurrences that keep popping up from time to time."

"I am bringing interdimensional peace to all!!" A large boy shouted. "I will be like the Avatar!"

"Great, as if his ego wasn't large enough." Her best employee at the bake shop grumbled.

"But if the stories that Steven Universe and Star Butterfly have told me shown, is that the downfall of any community, large or small, is ignorance, and the unwillingness to accept and learn about one another." The mayor sighed just a little. "Which is why I am hoping those of you who would be interested can help bridge that gap. I propose we set up a special program or school. Not only to understand the more strange and supernatural side of the world, but for those that want to actively engage in the lives of others' worlds."

"We already accepted Star into our lives, we are more than willing to accept anyone else." Mr Diaz smiled.

"And although it took a while for me to accept my children's … adventures … I would be happy to help with that program." Moon gave her own nod.

"Oh, maybe we can set up a class for learning magic too!" The Noceda girl exclaimed in excitement. "Dipper's Great Uncle can totally be a professor, and I can teach all the glyphs that I've learned!"

"Yeah, that would be-" Steven was cut off by a buzz, pulling out his mirror and staring at it, before frowning. "Um, Mrs Nana, me and Star have to go."

"We do?" Her son showed her daughter whatever was on the phone. "We do." She spoke with disappointment.

"Is there anything else on the list pertaining to us specifically?"

"Just a second." There was the sound of a couple of flipped pages. "Oh, the hospital could use a few vials of your saliva whenever you have the chance, in case of emergencies." The shorter woman bowed. "You will be properly compensated with five gallons of water to prevent dehydration and dry mouth."

"Why can't all adults be as understanding as you?" Steven shook the mayor's hand and ran out of the restaurant with his sister.

"I'd be slightly more offended, but I know the context for why they think like that." Moon rubbed her head. "I'm just glad they're willing to have proper support and help now."

"Of course." The mayor smiled. "Now we will schedule for a group session label 'my child is constantly in danger, and I am not okay with that'. Any takers?" Every parent in the facility raised their hand. This was much better company than she ever had on Mewni.

========================================================================

Pearl walked out of the temple door. "Finally fixed." Which was good, as the Crystal Heart breaking down would result in a scorched earth scenario.

"Pearl!" She jumped in place, watching as the Butterfly siblings marched to her. "I get that you're not able to tell us." Her hands twitched to cover her mouth. "But to tease us like this? That's just wrong." Steven complained.

"What are you talking about?" She asked, very confused. "I haven't said anything all day since breakfast."

"We're talking about the text you just sent." Star pointed to Steven's phone. "We need to talk. I want to tell you but I can't." Star read the message. "If you're messing with us because we made you uncomfortable, fine, but don't make this a habit."

"That's impossible, I've been fixing the Crystal Heart all day. If it went off the earth would have a crater the size of the moon." Pearl argued. "And I don't even have a 'phone case' yet, it's been in my gem all day."

"It's your number that texted us, it came from your phone." Steven said as the mirror dinged. "See, it's..texting right now?" Steven said with wide eyes. "What?"

"That's impossible." She argued. "Let me pull it out." Pearl reached within her gem, removing the object and presenting it.

"... How do you make texts on that?" Pearl looked at the object … a block phone.

"Wait, no, that can't be." She reached in, pulling out a miniature cell tower. "Come on." Canoe. Rocket fuel. Bazooka confiscated from Amethyst. "Where is it!?"

"You lost your own phone in your own gem?" Star said, baffled. "Also, your head is like Lion's mane?"

"All gems can store some amount of objects, Pearls just have the biggest capacity." She explained as she threw out a stack of bills, an unopened 'valentines' box of chocolate, and several illegal fireworks that she once again had to hide from Amethyst. "I don't understand, why can't I reach it!?" She would've been the laughing stock of all Pearls if she was still on homeworld.

"Um …what does this mean?" Steven showed off an image … of a single pale rose.

Pearl's eyes widened, her frantic searching stopped, realizing what was going on. "Steven, Star, I need you both to listen very closely to me." She said slowly, reaching down and placing her hands on their shoulders. "I need you to go inside my gem, and grab my phone."

"Wait, we don't need to use magic to do that?" Star asked.

"No, I can place you in and out as long as you leave your phones out here." She said, "When you find it, just text and I'll bring you two out." She explained to them.

"Is this really necessary?" Steven asked. "We can always just buy you another phone. I think that stack of money should cover it."

"There are … things I can't tell you." Pearl said. "No matter how much I try … but inside of my gem is everything that's me." She really hoped they would understand.

"Oh please don't tell me there isn't anything in your brain that'll try to kill us." Star pleaded with the pale woman.

"No, all the inner Pearl's should be pacified…unless the pressure has made them snap again."

"Getting Luz on standby just in case." Steven said as he typed into his mirror. "Going from one mind jumping adventure to another. There's just no break for us, is there?"

"There never seems to be." Star groaned, placing her mirror on the counter and walking to her. "Alright Pearl, take us in."

Pearl bowed, lighting up her gem and levitating the two slightly as she let them in…hoping that today would finally be the day she would truely, for sure, be free.

========================================================================

Star gazed at the infinite white expanse. "I would have thought there'd be … more." Star muttered. "You know, being a super smart brainy type, thought there'd be a lot more math books and equations floating all over.

"Meh, she's super organized though." Steven brought up. "It's probably place somewhere-"

"Oh goodie, more objects." They were picked up by … Pearl. "Lets see, should I place you both under S for your first names, or use your last names as Butterflies." They muttered, walking to a square and sliding it with their leg, flipping through a large variety of objects. "Or should I put you two under my personal items? Or should I place Star alphabetically and place Steven in personal items? He does hold more sentimental value to me." Well that stung just a little.

"Um … who are you?" Steven asked. "I know Pearl said there were Pearls inside of her but it still seems confusing."

"Oh, I'm Pearl's logic and organization." The gem smiled. "I make sure everything stays in place and tip top shape on the surface, and that all the other Pearls are shoved deep down into the subconscious."

"Even Marco would hesitate to recommend the amount of therapy that entails." Star shivered. "Anyways, don't file us. We're just here to grab Pearl's phone and get out of here."

"Her phone?" They blinked. "A simple matter." They slid the square wall, revealing a landline … along with over fifteen phone numbers with hearts on them. "Here we are, phones."

"Is Pearl really that attractive by human adult standards?" Star asked the gem-mind thingy.

"It wasn't until recently that she realized that was the case. Before she just thought they were giving her trash for her to pick up, the role of a Pearl and all that."

"I suppose that's something to ponder." Steven muttered. "Hmm … we're looking for a cell phone."

"Cell phone?" They looked at the objects. "Oh, my mistake, that would be under C for cellular." They began flipping through objects once more. "C c c… there." They smiled … until they found a blank spot. "It's gone … Why is it gone!?" She shouted. "It's not supposed to be gone, it's supposed to be organized and in place and make everything alright and better-" The gem went on a tangent as she paced the white void.

"So even the most organized aspect of Pearl's personality can't help but panic under pressure." Star observed.

"I think this is the source of her OCD nature." Steven mumbled. "... Oh wow, Marco may be rubbing off on me."

"It must have been … another Pearl." They said with fear. "That can't be good."

"Another Pearl?" Star rolled her eyes. "Just how many mini-me's do you have running around here?"

"There's one pearl for every aspect of Pearl's self." The mind gem explained. "If you went inside of Steven's gem you would probably find one for his insecurities, one for his desire to help, one for his sweet tooth, one for his love of you, etc."

"This is getting way too psychological for my taste." Her brother grumbled. "So Pearl was really insistent on getting that phone, so we're gonna need to find the Pearl that took it."

"Oh nonono, you don't want to meet the other Pearls." They looked panicked. "They're a nightmare." Pear wiped the sweat forming on her head. "We should all stay here, where everything is organized and perfect!"

"Oh yeah, we've both technically died before and came back. You don't get any more nightmarish than that." Star argued. "Come on, let's get to it before we force our way through the brain and mess it up."

The Pearl looked around with fear, before sighing. "Don't say I didn't warn you." They were covered in light, being sucked into the gem, as they entered … a sunset covered Beach Creek. The temple looked like it was before they moved in.

"Well at least it's a step up from the void." Star muttered. "So, where's the Pearl this time?"

"Over there." Steven pointed to a crying Pearl next to a rock. "Not so much a nightmare as much as a mess."

"I failed her, I failed her!" The Pear cried out. "First she decides to have a baby, and then I lose that baby! Garnet split up and Amethyst lives with the humans! Everything's awful and I'm left all alone to soak in my misery and defective nature!"

"... You think if we enter her war memories this would be less awkward?" Star asked Steven quietly.

"A million times less awkward." Steven agreed without hesitation. "Watching dad flirt with Luz's mom is much less awkward."

"I'm not even the best at being awkward!" The grieving Pearl continued to be an emotional wreck. "And now I've lost my Cellphone! I'm not good for anything!"

"We should have stayed with organized Pearl." Star said under her breath before walking over. "Hey … Pearl … There's nothing wrong. You have plenty of good stuff going for you."

"Like what?! My greatest love is gone, I didn't raise the son she always wanted, Bismuth is gone, Greg finds someone else while I'm still alone!"

"Hey, you didn't raise me, but you protected me." Steven held onto her. "Multiple times you've looked out for my safety when I'm too stupid to do so … thank you for being you."

"And did you see all those phone numbers? You can bounce back anytime you want." Star patted her head.

"Do you two … really think so?" She asked as she looked up. "You're always talking about how much trouble we bring though, and that we rarely fix the problem at hand."

"Yeah, but we're struggling to fix things just as much." Steven sighed. "I get frustrated, but I know you're frustrated too. We're all on the same boat, and just knowing you're here, just knowing you're in my life helps me a lot."

"Thank you Steven …" They hugged the boy back. "... If I was a good person I wouldn't let you travel any deeper."

"Good and Bad have become relatively flexible within the past two years." Star stated. "We need to keep going."

"Alright then … good luck." They were dragged inside of the gem once more, entering … a land with a blood red sky.

"Is it too late to go back to the emotional mess?" Star's skin began to crawl just by looking at the decaying sight around them.

"Probablyyyyyyy." Steven fell down a cliffside.

"Steven!" She shouted, jumping after him.

"I'm fine, all the gem shards broke my fall….." Steven's eyes widened in fright, backing away at the graveyard they were now standing on. "... So when Garnet said the war traumatized them-"

"We severely underestimated how bad the situation was … again." Star answered, as they gazed around the battlefield.

"She better have not left it on the dresser or dropped it in the toilet." Steven muttered as the two of them made their way. "Seems just as likely as storing it in her repressed war memories." Things were bad when her brother broke out the snark.

========================================================================

Steven and Star looked around, finally finding this mind Pearl. Or at this point, the Pearl inside Pearl inside of Pearl inside of Pear's Pearl … Marco was right, Inception really was a complex movie. "Alright, we met an organized Pearl, and an emotional Pearl." He said. "Which one are you?"

"... It was over in an instant." The mind-mind-mind gem muttered. "They were retreating … we thought we won … we thought we finally stood a chance … then there was a flash of light and … they're all gone." The Pearl muttered. "We survived because they didn't bother looking at the carnage."

"Trauma Pearl, got it." Star summarized as they drew closer and closer to the Pearl, who's gaze was straight but broad, looking so drained and lifeless. "Hey, so you wouldn't happen to have the phone with you, right?"

"Why did I do it…why did I do it?" Pearl didn't look like she registered them at all, hollowly muttering out loud.

"So you admit to doing it." Steven muttered. "Good, problem solved, now give us the phone so we can all go home please?"

Pearl simply looked at them … before they were sucked in once more. Before they could even process it, they were next to a rock formation. "Great, how many minds are we inside of this time?" Steven asked his sister.

"I wanna say … four?" Star noted. "Wait, this place looks familia-" They heard a scream, turning to see … pink shards fall to the ground. Standing over those objects was … Rose, hands clenching tightly on the sword's handle.

"Huh?" Okay, this was getting confusing and just more and more frustrating. "So it was Rose." Steven gripped his hands. "Well, back to square one on that front."

"Wait, this isn't right." Star noticed, looking around them. "There's no gem's near the Palanquin, just like the trial said." Star walked up closer to the Rose Quartz figure. "And if this is Pearl's memory, then where is she?"

An explosion sounded off in the distance, his birth mom's hair flying up as she looked to it … revealing a certain stone on her forehead … "PEARL!?" Steven shouted. "So you shapeshifted into my mom to shatter Pink so Rose could get all the blame!?" Or credit.

"Or did your mom get cold feet and tell her to do this?" Star added in her own guess. "So Pearl did shatter Pink diamond … But with the sword?" Star looked at the blade. "How can it cut when it's not supposed to?"

"Well it's not like we ever stabbed a gemstone, maybe it was just a lie." Steven grumbled. "Just like everyone else in our lies when it comes to family." The teary eyes Pearl-Rose simply shook her head, holding out her hands to reveal … a Pink Diamond. "Huh?!" Steven gasped. "Pink's gem? It's … not shattered."

"What does it mean!?" Star asked. "Where is Pink Diamond?" The Pearl raised her gem at them … sucking the siblings inside. "REALLY!?" Star called out to the world. "How many more Pearls are we going to be shoved into!? What did that last Pearl even represent?"

"Probably regret or something." Steven grumbled. "So what's the deal this time around … inside of a palanquin …" The boy sighed. "We're going to see something even worse, aren't we?"

"Come on, think optimistically." Star patted his back. "If Pink wasn't shattered, then your mom didn't kill her! That takes the big one off the list of horrible things she's done."

"Then why didn't Pearl say anything when Homeworld attacked?" He asked. "If the Diamonds are mad that we shattered their sibling, then we should just show she's alive and-"

"And then we'll be done." A familiar voice, one that used to give him a sense of comfort but now only filled him with a sinking feeling, interrupted. "It's going to be easy."

The two of them looked at each other, before slowly walking around the throne … seeing Rose Quartz and Pearl talking. "There has got to be another way." Pearl pleaded. "I mean, maybe-"

"Blue and Yellow don't care." Rose rolled her eyes, talking as if she knew them personally. "They never have. This is just 'Pink Diamond's' world. It's 'just another colony' to them. But we can end it, right here and now."

"Nope, that turned out to be false." Star muttered.

"You know this is crazy right?" At Pearl's question, Rose nodded with a smile. " Your status, mypurpose. None of it will matter anymore." The tall gem nodded even faster with a manic grin. "This will change everything ."

"I know, isn't it exciting!?" They asked as if they were sneaking out to a ball.

"... I suppose it is." Pearl spoke with a blush, looking away. "But there has to be another way. You've managed to telopart Mewni away, maybe.."

"It was only made possible with Heckapoo, and she doesn't want anything to do with this dimension anymore." That seemed incredibly on point for the shady MHC."And even if we protect the Earth, it won't matter in the long run." Rose stated. "We need to show them that all their enemies won't just run away, that there are consequences to fighting and taking the lives of other beings."

"I know … it's just so much to take in."

"It'll be amazing. I want this planet for the Crystal Gems. I want to be able to live here, with human beings, to live with you for the rest of eternity." The large gem held Pearl's hands affectionately.

"Starting to see why Pearl got a crush on the woman." Star muttered with a gag.

"Yeah … and how she manipulated her into doing this." Steven corrected with a growl.

"... I'm ready." Rose squealed at the declaration with a hug. "I can't believe I'm doing this." Of course not, no one believes when they're doing something like this.

"Well I can't exactly shatter myself." ...…. Steven's brain couldn't quite process that sentence.

"'Shatter myself?'" Star immediately questioned as Rose began to shift. "What the heck is she….going.." Rose's figure began growing taller and slimmer … and her gem flipped … revealing not the round shape he had always assumed it was … but a pointier … DIAMONDshape resting on the flat end.

Steven and Star's bond immediately kicked in, covering each other's mouths as they let out enclosed screams. This couldn't be possible! This had to be a prank, or some kind of mind game … ANYTHING BUT THIS!

Pink FREAKING Diamond walked out of the Palanquin, grabbing some dirt and pressing it tightly, a pink sparkle growing as they showed off … pink shards. "Convincing?"

"Very much so, my diamond." Pearl winced as she watched Pink Diamond swallow the shards.

"Soon it'll just be Rose." Pink leaned down and placed a hand on Pearl's shoulder. "If they learn I survived they'll just drag me back and keep this going forever." She said, "They can never learn that I survived … so this is my last order as a Diamond." They grabbed Pear's hand, using it to cover her mouth. "Let us never speak of this. No one can ever know."

"She … she muzzled her…" Steven looked at the sight, filled with an incredible amount of disgust for what his mother did, recalling every single time Pearl covered her mouth, every single time he tried to ask about his mom, and every single time she's always struggled to say the words.

"The amount of effort that went into taking down Pink scarred Pearl so much she can't even speak of the event without freezing up."

Rose … Pink walked out of the object, Pearl staying behind as she moved over to them, holding out a cell phone. "... I'm sorry I made you come all this way."

Steven barely let her finish as he rushed in and hugged the poor woman, who's spent thousands of years alone with this secret and no one to confide it in. "Thank you."

"I'm just a part of Pearl … the one that wants to make you happy." They spoke. "There's another one that needs this more than me." With a light smile, the Pearl shifted into Rose Quartz, and walked out, unsheathing the sword and ready to play history out like it went.

"Steven." Star walked over, giving him a hug. "You okay?"

"Not really." He said honestly as he typed on the phone, noticing something that the mind pearl left behind … a single pale rose that had been in her hair. "There." A flash of images shoved them out of the multiple Pearls, before they finally were back in their own house.

Pearl looked at them with worry. "Did you find what you needed?" She asked.

"We did … Pearl … we know." Star said as Steven struggled to pick himself up.

"I've wanted to tell you for so long, Steven." Pearl said as a single tear fell off her face.

"Mom…" Steven didn't want to say it, because it only made the horrible reality all the more real…but he needed to accept it. "Mom was Pink Diamond."

"WHAT!?" Oh … everyone was here … at least it would be easy to get off all at once.
