Chapter 185: Chapter 167 A Family That Sticks Together Fights Together
Summary:
Forever more.
Star panted in exhaustion. "Finally … lost her …"
"COME BACK HERE!" Nope, cause apparently losing this cheeto gem was impossible! Even when they had every possible advantage, the universe had to find some way to screw them over! "COME BACK SO YOU CAN DIE LIKE INSECT YOU ARE!"
"I liked you better when you were a mindless dog!" Star shouted back as she found herself crawling out of the way of Jasper's claws, each one getting more dangerously closer than the last.
She continued trying to figure out the best place to lose her. So far there was Rose and Steven duking it out with Mina, Firstborn was fighting with Marco, Kelly, and Amethyst against the dark unicorn and Tom, the past queens and Omnitraxus were blowing up the skies, and Mom, Eclispa, and Meteora were still trying to work on the magical destruction. Everyone had their plates full, running to anyone else for help would just get in the way.
She really…REALLY hated fighting by herself. "Hey, sense your brain is no longer in a blender…" The gem launched at her in an attempt to bite Star's head. "Sort of, you should know that Homeworld lost, the Diamond's don't want to destroy earth anymore!"
"BREAK EVERYTHING! FIGHT ENEMY! TEAR DOWN ALL THINGS!" Okay, so she really was too insane to be reasoned with. In a very, very, VERY twisted sort of way, her and Mina were pretty much made for each other.
"Ah!" She couldn't use her normal magic and using Dark magic is what made this place twice as difficult to be in as before. She literally had no options. "I could really use some divine intervention right about now!" She knew most of the gods were jerks, but someone had to give her something!"
"Not sure about god's, but here's a package straight from the depths of hell!" Marco voice cried out as she ducked her head as that savage purple unicorn was thrown right into Jasper's face.
"You know, we can pretty much just let them wear each other down before we try and put pudding in Tom's mouth." Kelly suggested, a bit of exhaustion visible on her face. "Was a bit too close to death for comfort there."
"No kidding. Omni almost went full supernova and Steven's in the middle of a death match between Mina and Rose." Star cracked her neck from the soreness. "We should start running before…"
"AAAAAGGGGGHHH!" They watched as Jasper mounted the carnivorous looking horse and pressed her hand against its neck, before ripping it off, letting its purple sludge filled blood leak everywhere.
"... One of the people trying to kill you has been the most help I've had my entire time here." Firstborn deadpanned at the horrifying image before them. "Life is weird …"
"You got that right." Amethyst chuckled as she took out her whip. "Looks like the fight's coming either way. You kids get back, me and Jasper have some unfinished business to take care of."
"I'll join, I have the blade." Kelly said, raising it to them. "I know how to use it."
"Then that just leaves us with … Tom." She watched her ex boyfriend shoot out flames covered in dark energy, sending both her and Marco flying. "Dang it, we're still outclassed and underpowered. Even if it was for the last time, I wish I had my magic."
"Oh, because I wasn't sure if you wanted to see this or not." Marco pulled something from under his hoodie, revealing…Eclipsa's wand? "She sort of let it fall to the ground when you guys started and I figured, why risk it with everything on the line."
She hesitantly reached out, gently grasping it as the umbrella broke off, sparkling light enveloping it in a rainbow fashion, revealing two white wings and her special star. "... Well then, back to the basics." She aimed it at Tom. "Let's tango."
"... Was that meant to be romantic or-"
"Hekapoo kissed you, we will talk about all this stuff later." She wasn't mad at Marco specifically, but she was going to chastise him about not fighting off the kiss…then again, she probably would've been the same if it was with Brunzetta. "You and me against the forces of evil, just like old times?"
"Just like old times." Marco smirked as he flipped in the air as Tom flung more fire at them. "Damn Tom, your aim is getting worse by the second! Pretty sure I can whoop your ass in ping pong now with your sloppy aim!"
"Crystal Dagger HEART ATTACK!" Like muscle memory, the spells came naturally.
Tom took her attack, now bleeding with crystal dagger hearts sticking out of his body as he roared, firing more attacks at the two of them. "RAAAAAA!!"
"He doesn't even comprehend how to dodge!" Marco shouted as they avoided another attack. "We can't get too violent with him, focus on restraint!"
"Got it! SHINY EMERALD SNAKE STRIKE!" She blasted it again as she felt the surge of magic being flowed through her. Despite everything, this was suddenly reminding her of just how much fun she used to have with this thing.
The shiny snakes surrounded Tom as they wrapped around his arms and legs, trying to make them fall. Tom responded by simply lighting his body on fire and burning off his restraints.
"Right, of course, magic fire." She rolled her eyes. "I need to build up for something more durable, you got a plan?"
"... A very stupid one." Marco admitted.
"Marco, honey…every plan we make is a stupid plan." She patted his cheeks kindly.
"Fair enough." He gave her a chaste kiss on the lips, before running in. "Pulling a Steven and Darkstar!"
"WHAT!?" Star took back what she just said, those other plans were crazy, THIS plan was were they official crossed over into dumb!
"Come on…Come on Tom!" Marco flipped out of the way as he charged forward into her ex boyfriend, the sleeves of his hoodie getting torn to patches as his arms started spouting dark burns. "If you're going to go dark and crazy, shouldn't you be doing it with your girlfriend instead of with some dumb unicorn!?"
"RAAGGG!" Tom shouted out, continuing to burn marco, running straight to him as … Tom used claws to hit Marco straight in the stomach.
"MARCO!" She shouted out as she felt her cheeks grow warm and her vision grow bright.
"I got him!" Marco kept shouting as he wrapped his arms around the demon, and turned his face front right to Star. "BLAST HIM NOW STAR!"
She listened to her dumb boyfriend as she waved her wand into the air for what was probably going to be the most important spell of her life. "RAINBOW PUDDING AVALANCHE STORM!" Waves and waves of the brightly colored dessert shot out of the wand and buried the two morons in it. "Marco! Tom! You alright!?" Bit of a rhetorical question, but she needed to know if they were still breathing.
A familiar flaming head burst out, looking absolutely baffled as he gasped for air. "Why am I buried in … is this pudding?"
"Tons of it…tons and tons of pudding." Marco burst out of the pile with a heavy gasp. "Welcome back Tom."
"Did I go anywhere?" Tom looked around. "Why are we still in the magic?"
"Long story, we got teleported, Mewni was invaded by Mina and Omnitraxus, who are causing chaos." She gestured to the mayhem all around them. "So we're destroying it."
"You're throwing a lot at me." The boy admitted.
"Look, I know … it's complex … but you need to help the guys against Jasper." Marco said, looking a bit pale. "Star, go help … Moon and Eclipsa … I need to … see Steven … about some burns and a stab wound …"
"He's in the middle of fighting Mina, you're going to get turned into pudding if you get in the middle of that." Star carried him. "You, my brave little idiot, are going to stay with me until that resolves itself." Hopefully with the magic gone, the magic injuries would disappear too.

Jasper roared out as she punched the puny things. "DIE DIE DIE!" She shouted, spinning and rushing at the weak ones.
"I just wondered if getting stronger means getting dumber." The runt mocked her as it laughed while flinging puny rocks at them. "I mean, she was kind of a good balance of both, but this…this is almost sad."
"I think that's more to do with the magic steroids she's on, it does some serious damage to the brain." The talking bush flipped in the air as the batted the puny PINK sword against her leg.
"SWORD IS PATHETIC!" She kicked the bush, sending it flying like a twig. "NOTHING BREAK ME!" She went to headbut the runt.
"Gotta say, sis, i've actually been wanting to meet back with you after everything that happened." The runt jumped over her body and rolled acrossed. "Been really meaning to play catch up, see how you've been. I've accepted being my rad small self, and you've accepted being crazy. Not what I would've done, but we all grow in different ways."
"JASPER GROW TO STRONGEST!" She shouted, grabbing one of those crystal things and lifting it above her head with effort, before tossing it forward.
"Yep, the world's strongest lap dog!" The bush jumped forward and sliced the rock in half. "...Whoa, didn't even think that would happen! Bismuth really upped her game with this thing."
"Yet it still doesn't cut the crazy lady." The runt grumbled. "We got any backup left?"
"GRAAA!" Jasper was hit by a PINK fuzzy thing that sent her flying.
"LION!" The bush excitedly hugged the PINK thing with a large embrace. "Oh you have no idea how happy I am to see you! I take back almost everything I've ever said about you being a lazy house cat!"
"BRRRR." The PINK thing nuzzled its nose into the leaves of the bush before letting it climb on top of its head.
"You guys got room for one more player?" A puny horned creature flew in with fire. "I think my sanity has been cleared enough for a fight or two."
"Uh, hell yeah!" The runt cracked her head as she formed herself into a slightly buffer but still runty form. "You're in for it now, Jasper! There's no way you're going to win now!"
"ALL OF YOU … WEAKLINGS!" She shouted, rushing forward to crush them under her boot.
"You know, one of the first things we've learned while being with the gems is that it's important to be strong in the real way!" The bush road on top of the PINK thing, which hopped all over the place in PINK portals as they collided with her, brushing claws and that PINK sword against her body.
"SO …. MUCH … PINK …" She could feel power building with rage. "ROOOOSSEEEE!!" She let off an explosive scream, rushing forward to grab the fuzzy thing and slam it into a crystal thing hard enough to make an explosion.
"Man, that's one serious hate boner!" The horned creature shouted as she flung fire at them. "Is this what you guys deal with daily?"
"Eh, I say every two to four days this is what happens." The runt rammed into Jasper's side, making them fall over just a little before getting back up.
"NUMBERS DON'T MATTER! I'M STILL STRONGEST AMONG YOU!"
"She's…got a point…." The Bushy walked up, slightly in a daze as her face was covered in soot marks. "We only have one good weapon against her, and her hide's as thick as they come."
"If we don't have the strength to pierce it, then we need the speed to compensate for the lack of power." The horned creature looked at the runt. "You can do that rolling thing too, right? I add my firepower and shoot you at her like a cannonball with Kelly's sword."
"Alright then, cannon combo here we go!" The runt turned into a ball, spinning as they bounced to the Bush. The horned creature built up flames as Jasper prepared to catch these wimps.
"I'M STILL STRONGER THAN ALL OF YOU! NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE THAT FACE!" She charged forward, ready to turn these puny lifeforms into cream.
"YEAH, I KNOW, AND I DON'T CARE!" The runt yelled as it spun rapidly in place while holding the sword, a blazing trail of purple fire following it as it was aimed right at Jasper's chest. "It doesn't matter if I can't beat you alone, I can still beat YOU!"
Jasper stuck her hand out, ready to catch the puny blade…only for it to pass through it and right into her chest and through her back. "I…I…I'M….I'M THE STRONGEST…."
"Strength doesn't matter if you're alone." The bush scoffed as they all surrounded her. "And right now, you're as alone as anyone can get."
"I'M…NOT….ALONE…I….MINA…I…"
"Were you fighting with her?" The runt asked with a raised eyebrow.
"With … letting her … fight …" Jasper's thoughts were so confused as she felt the world fade away. What was she doing? Why…why did it seem like fighting wasn't what she should be doing? Why…why was being not alone more important than being strong?
========================================================================
One problem after another, one right after the other. He should have just warped the boy's head clean off his body and been done with it, but it was fine, he'd be done as soon as these fallen queens fell once more! He skipped time forward, letting him get behind Skywyne's back to deliver a point blank strike. "I should've known nothing good could come out of this family the moment you blew up that entire dimension!"
"Oh please, you didn't do anything because you enjoyed the thought of having a magical atomic bomb on your side." Skywynne scoffed as she disappeared from sight, only to appear moments later and attack him from the side. "The Butterfly's were never more than a tool the Commission wanted to use for themselves."
"If I had the option we would never have to use them at all!" He shouted, flicking Solaria's sneak attack into her own mother. "Who trusts mortals with all powerful energy!? Glossaryck, the asshole who apparently wanted this whole thing to go down!"
"Eh, considering how much of a dick you are, maybe he has a point." Dirhennia's voice whispered in the air, but Omini couldn't see her. "I'd hate it if you were the one trying to keep things in line." Before he could refute, a giant black ball was slammed into his face.
"Where was that spell when we were alive?" Crescenta asked.
"It was inside of my chapter … did you never read it?"
"Did I really do that bad of a job as a mother?" Omnitraxus couldn't even process the fact his own daughter was against him as fireworks blinded his omnidirectional vision.
"Festiva, why!?"
"Well, Daddy, I don't want to do this, I really pushed for the whole redemption angle the new kids seem to be on about, but after everything you did to Meteora, I'm not sure I can even begin to forgive you."
"I gave you the throne and a happy childhood, and this is the thanks I get!?" He brought forth a miniature star, shooting it straight down at the woman.
It was completely blocked and dispersed by what appeared to be a math equation. "Oh yes, a childhood of endless partying with little to no supervision, because that's how you should raise a child." Jushtin rolled his eyes as he sent out a ball made up of the equation for pie and shot it into Omni's arm. "And you're somehow surprised she ends up defying you?"
"Just face it." Estrella painted a bunch of blades, which were launched at him. "You're nothing but an old man sitting on a throne, doing nothing to better our world."
"DOING NOTHING!?" Omni laughed. "Fine then, how about I let out every single paradox inside of my stomach that you Butterflys have caused to fester there for the last few millennia? Skywyne's alone will cause an apocalypse!"
"Oh, please don't. You'll make me angry then." He turned his gaze and saw the little ghost of Celena. " And you wouldn't like me when I'm angry."
"Oh please, you're one of the weakest Butterflys of all! You did nothing and accomplished nothing!" He raised his hand to squash the little bug…only for it to erupt in pink flames as he felt the suns on his skin explode internally. " ACK! HOW!?"
"I'm half demon, a lot of people tend to forget that. Heheh." The little butterfly spotted horns and a fang filled smile that would terrorize even the hardest of warriors. " I'm shy, because I'm afraid of what I would do to others…but today that fear has passed."
Omnitraxus gathered energy. "Enough!" He shot forth a black hole, multiplying it many times over as he used it to form a blade, swinging it to eliminate all it scratched. " You insects have gotten in my way long enough! Your time has passed! Your reign has ended! There's nothing more than in this universe you can offer anyone!"
"We know." Solaria met his blade with her own. "We are past our time, our echoes have lingered in the present long enough. The era of Queens and Magic is over." With each collision their blade made, another one of his galaxies blew up. "But we can offer one thing to the people of today … time!"
"I'm the space time guy! Literally all the time is working for…!" He felt himself struck with a blade right in his chest. Looking down, he saw Skywyne pulling out what looked like an hour hand out of his body.
"I'm the Queen of Hours. I've mastered my magic by working harder than anybody else before me. And believe me, I've spent countless hours dreaming of the day I could finally do this!" She struck him across the chest again, and he felt himself freeze all over. " That…was for looking down on my son."
He tried to raise his hand to create a portal to increase the distance between them…only to find himself falling over instead. "What…what did you…?"
"Quite the interesting puzzle is it?" Rhina laughed as she kicked him across the head. "You are the Space Time guy because you're made up of the stuff. So Skywyne took away some of that time, and now you're trapped here, frozen in the moment."
"You're…you're…dooming the universe…" There was nothing he could do but try and plead.
"Maybe…but if nothing else….we can place our faith that our family can make it right." Crescenta stared down at him. "Because if you can't trust your family to save everyone, who can you trust?"
"Those kids….will just mess it up…"
"Possibly, or they'll be able to make something better. At the very least, we can help them make a better future free from people like you. " The visage of Comet stared from above, giving a disturbing smile as she aimed her wand at him. "Eat schnitzel in hell."
As he felt the exploding pies run over his body, he could only think of one solid thought that kept him from going insane from the pain. 'Curse you…Steven Quartz Universe Demayo Butterfly! CURSE YOU!!!!!!!'
========================================================================
Rose blocked another attack, pinning Mina to the ground. "Don't hold back Steven! You saw it on Homeworld, she can take that level of power you know you have in you." It hurt that this was the only and last bonding experience she had with her son … but beggars can't be choosers, she guessed.
"The power to knock back White Diamond on her face…I admit, that was the only time I was glad to have overwhelming power." Steven nodded as he lit himself pink, scales and horns forming all over his face. "Wait, does that mean you could've done the same?"
"It was only when I lived on earth that I expanded my abilities, and even then I would've been too terrified to try." Rose answered as Mina pushed her off. "Add on to the fact that they could have learned to expand their own powers like Yellow Diamond did …"
"Yeah, that would've made it harder." Steven acknowledged as he hit the woman with a series of punches.
"Both of you are going to die!" Mina shouted, kicking him back.
"You finally realize we're separate people?" Steven asked with a bit of hope.
"I don't care if you both are or aren't! The fact remains you're still a monster loving freak that messes up everything you touch!" She jumped, Rose making a shield to block her rage. "Solaria believed I could be something and you killed her! I lived an eternity for her and you made her go against her word!"
"I messed up nothing! You put your faith in the wrong cause!" Rose roared as she sent an uppercut into Mina's stomach as Steven smacked her down in the ground. "What has three hundred years of hate given you?! Nothing but inane babbling as you wander aimlessly, homeless and alone!"
" That hate is the only reason why I'm still here! It's pushed me further and further forward when anyone else would've shriveled up and died!" Mina growled in the air as Steven and Rose caught her fists, sending her flying overhead. "And I'm not alone! I have Jasper!"
"She can barely stand still without ramming her head into a wall!" Steven countered as he met Mina's fists by bubbling his own hands. "Even if you succeeded and killed everyone, that's just going to leave the two of you alone, lost in your own heads! What kind of life is that!?"
"A life that doesn't have you in it, which is good enough for me!" Mina cackled as she kicked Steven across the head.
Steven countered with a chain of bubbles that launched her back with consecutive explosions. "Remind me why we're trying to talk her down again?" She asked her ever emphatic if naive son.
"She looked like she was having a mental breakdown, and we're suckers for helping people who look like they need it."
"So true, it keeps biting me in the butt more often than not, but I understand." Rose smiled as the two of them sped at lightspeed and punched Mina through one of the crystals. "No matter what happens today…I am proud that you've managed to keep that level of hopefulness and optimism." She was glad Steven was able to carry the best qualities of her and Greg without the growing cynicism.
"Someone's gotta do it." He shrugged. "I just don't get why hope has to be constantly confused for naiveness."
"Becuase the idea of being able to save everyone, to be at peace with everyone is stupid!" Mina cracked the crystal she was embedded in. " If there's one thing living this long has taught me, it's that there's no omelet without cracking a few skulls!" Mina charged forward again.
"Well maybe you can go vegetarian!" Steven shouted, kicking the woman over to her.
"Weren't you against that with the whole Tad thing?" Rose asked as she tried choking Mina. "Also if eggs were never alive, do they count as eating a living animal?"
"I was just trying to banter, don't start deconstructing it with existentialism." Rose never thought she would smile at an eye roll…so this was what being a parent felt like.
"ENOUGH!" The warrior let out a burst of energy that sent the two of them flying back. "One..two..no matter the number…I am sick and tired of listening to your loonency!"
"Then we're all on the same page." Before any of them could blink, Mina was struck from behind and fell over, as Solaria stood over her. "Probably the greatest waste of immortality, right next to the commission."
"Solaria … Solaria please …" Mina cried as she laid on the ground. "She killed you … she left you to die …"
"I led myself to that grave." Solaria spoke evenly as she pointed the sword to her most loyal soldier. "But you…you attacked my daughter…you persecuted my family. I don't give an inkling of a damn about what you do with your life…but the moment you turned your power on my family…that's when you crossed the line."
"But Eclipsa's a monster lov-"
"YOU DIDN'T PROTECT HER!" Solaria yelled out with fiery fury. " Your first instinct when she was released was to kill her, and you dared to do it in my name!"
"She went against everything you stood for! I tried to make sure she grew up safe but she tainted herself!" Mina shouted back. "Rose tainted he-"
"Rose protected my family from you, from the commission, from me, from the twisted ideals I let ruin Mewni!" Solaria struck Mina in the arms, making the insane woman whimper like a dog as she tried to scoot away. "And as much as it pains me, I still have her to thank, for if it wasn't for her son, my daughter wouldn't have a chance to actually live her life!" She raised the sword up.
"Wait, don't…!" Steven called out as Rose got in front of him, preventing him from rushing in there to stop it.
"As long as she lives, your family, our family will never be safe!" Solaria stated bluntly. "Undo the thread the spell would hold, the bindings now unwoven. What fury shapes the soldier's mold, now fades away unspoken. Remove the strength that comes in floods, our essence is restored. Return the power paid in blood, and rest forever more." Streams of energy waft off of Mina, her muscular form fading away into Solaria's blade.
" Wh-what, No! Don't take my power! Don't take my strength!" Mina's weaker and skinnier form showed as the girl struggled to get up. "It's…it's all I have…"
"Why didn't we open with that!?" Steven shouted.
"Only I know the spell, and would you have rather I did it before I stopped Omnitraxus from murdering you?"
"Don't need to be so sassy about it." Steven rolled his eyes.
"So-solaria…please.." Mina lifted her arm up, begging for something. "Don't…don't abandon…"
"I won't. I am here for you..one.." Solaria lifted the sword again, clearly aiming for a head strike. "… last ti-"
Clang
"... Rose." Solaria said with a voice of more restrained rage than when Rose left her to die. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Being the ideal my son believed I was." Rose raised her shield and shoved the sword out of the way. "We have enough blood on our hands already..let's not add to that further."
Solaria looked down on the fallen and crying Mina, before sighing. "You were always way too idealistic for your own good." She spoke, sheathing the blade, looking at her son. "It's a good quality to have, just don't let it go wild too often."
"Thanks, I won't." Steven looked at the sulking Mina.
"What do I do..what do I do!?" She shouted, tears flooding down her eyes as Steven approached her. "What are you going to do to me?"
"Nothing." He stated firmly. "The best thing you should do? Run. Get away from Rose, from the Butterfly's and run, run and never turn back."
After a few seconds Mina slowly stood up, wobbling as she began to slowly trudged with a dazed look on her face, tears streaming as she continued to walk aimlessly.
"Whoa…okay, that was pretty cool." Solaria smirked.
"Coming from you, I don't know how to feel about that." Steven said with exasperation. "Let's just go back and try to help Star."
CRACK
Rose held her nonexistent gem, gasping as she felt something wrong course through her … followed by an immense drain. "It looks like … they finally did it …"
"Yes…it seems they have." Solaria looked at her arms as white cracks formed along her arms.
"What'll happen to you guys?" Steven looked at them, at Rose with concern.
"In the words of Glossaryck … we'll go where we're supposed to be." She smiled. "Who knows … maybe i'll enter a place to truly atone for my mistakes … or be reincarnated as a bird that's more free than any living thing …" Or no existence at all, but why give her son dread at all.
"Whatever the case…I'd like to see my daughter one last time before the end."
========================================================================
Eclipsa watched as the colorless muck spread further and further, things cracking when touched. "So we finally did it." Eclipsa commented as the sky grew gray and her daughter's mewberty form dissipated, along with the Mewman marks upon all their cheeks.
"Magic is being destroyed." Star watched as she picked up the once yellow sludge, now a dark blackish green. "I thought the sight would make me feel happier…but I kind of feel empty."
"We are destroying a dimension …" Moon said, gazing at the decaying landscape as the sky grew cloudy. "That shouldn't feel good in any capacity." Eclipsa disagreed, but stayed silent.
"Wow, I can't believe you actually did it!" Glossaryck, of course, was there the entire time watching them. "I mean, I saw it coming, but it's still a bit a wonder to see it happen all the same."
"Right, of course." Star rolled her eyes. "So what escape plan do you have to annoy us in the future?"
"None." The bluntness took the three women off guard. "A good captain goes down with his ship after all, I may as well go down with mine." He smiled. "If it's any consolation from anything today, I'm proud of you all."
"Coming from….you….that means practically….nothing." Marco said weakly, still spotting the burns he had from his earlier tussle. "Where's…where's Steven…?"
"Right here, just making our way through the complete annihilation of magic." Steven walked up, with all the ghosts of the Butterflys behind him…including her mother and…
"Rose?" Moon and Eclipsa said at the same time.
"I am the shield of the Butterfly's, as if I wouldn't be here." Rose gave that light and hearty laugh that she'd missed so much. "To think, when we talked to Eclipsa all those years ago, it was going to lead to us meeting like this."
"The destruction of magic … never thought I'd see the day." Rhina looked around at the world crumbling around them.
"No, resetting, we're going to bring it back." Steven pulled out a bubble containing the yellow chunk of magic. "And this time, we get to choose who has it and who doesn't." Oh such a sweet boy, naively hopeful until the end.
"So much optimism. You did well raising your children, my little moon pie." Comet Butterfly walked over to her daughter as Moon did her best to keep the tears out of her eyes.
"I…I did the best that I could. They turned out fine in spite of my blunders." Moon gave a bit of a broken laugh. "Mother…mom…I'm sorry I couldn't follow your example, that I wasn't as hopeful as you."
"It's fine, everyone grieves their own way, you did fine with what happened … I mean, you weren't Solaria, so that was a definite step in the right direction."
"I wasn't the only bad queen you know." The woman rolled her eyes, before turning to her. "Eclipsa …"
"Mother…" She could barely look her right in the eye, subconsciously using her arms to shield her daughter from her grandmother. "I…I don't expect you to understand how I feel about monsters…I just want you to know that I am happy with the choices I've made…and I don't regret them."
Solaria gave that same neutral expression she's given almost the entire time, before lightly sighing into a smile. "That's all I could've hoped for. " She then tilted her head as she narrowed her gaze at the bundle of joy in her arms. "May I see her…may I see my granddaughter?"
A small thought in the back of her head screamed at her. ' She'll kill her, just like every other monster' . She wanted to run, she wanted to get Meteora away…but her mom this entire time had helped them. She didn't try to stop them, she didn't join up with Mina to slaughter them all…if people could change their lives…who's to say the same can't be done with the afterlife?
Slowly and hesitantly, Eclipsa uncovered her arms and showed off her pride and joy. "Meteora…this is your grandmother."
"Bah?" The baby tilted their head looking at the spector, before laughing and trying to reach out to the ghost. "Gama! Gama!"
This made her monster hating mother laugh above all things. "She's certainly spirited. She resembles all of Jushtin's baby pictures…minus the fangs and tail.
"I resent that." The male queen laughed, his hands breaking away into ashes. "It looks like we've pushed our time as it is."
"Everyone has their own time to shine." Skywyne chuckled as she started to fade away. " Now let the new generation have theirs."
"Thank you all." Steven turned to them all and bowed, before going to Rose and hugging her, surprising the tall pink woman. "Thank you for being there for me."
Rose broke out in a river of tears, gripping the boy as the cracks of light appearing on her skin glowed brighter. "I'm sorry I can't be a part of your life, so promise me, no matter what happens, you will always find a way to be happy." She squeezed even tighter. "Tell Greg I'm proud and relieved he's able to love again."
"... Yeah, that would be awkward to give news from a dead ex to an engaged man." He mumbled. "I can promise the happy part though."
"Fair enough." Rose chuckled as she faded away, turning into pink light before dissipating entirely.
"Yep, you've inherited both sides of cute awkwardness." Star laughed as the rest of the Queens began to follow suit. "Of course you guys fade away when I'm just beginning to like you all."
"That's how the ball rolls." Dirrhennia shrugged as she disappeared.
"Of course you go out on a pun." Crescenta rolled her eyes as she faded. "Leave it to vanishing from two planes of existence to finally get a sense of humor."
"Goodbye everyone, it was lovely to meet you in person." Sywyne waved as she vanished.
"Wonder if this means I'll get my own room now?" Jushtin questioned as he disappeared.
"I wonder if i'll be a loaf of bread after this is all over." Comet smiled as she faded. "Warming people's stomachs."
"I'll settle for being a butterfly." Celena chuckled. "Oh, a pegasus would be a nice alternative however."
"Just another puzzle to figure out I suppose." Rhina laughed.
" For once I actually changed something momentous." Estrella pondered as she faded. "I don't know how you kids do this all the time."
"I suppose it's luck working both for and against them." Her mother rolled her eyes before smiling at her as she began to dissipate. "Keep smiling Eclipsa, never have regrets." She rarely did.
"I think that was everyone." Star smiled, before the Unicorn that helped them before trodged by … with a cracked and decaying body covering her. "No …"
"I hope you find peace … Mother." With that, the unicorn turned to dust in the wind, blowing off into the distance.
"I just killed my own daughter…..What have I done?" Star looked at her hands horrified.
The ground rumbled, a loud groaning noise as things began to crack further and further. "We don't quite have the time to comprehend …" Eclipsa spoke. "We're in a collapsing dimension."
