Ben 10&The justice league:The Silent mirror

Chapter 4: chapter 4: The truth

🕒 Metropolis High School – 1:13 PM – Science Class Period

The bell rings. Students begin moving between classes. Raven walks quietly down the hallway, avoiding eye contact as usual. In the background, Kyle is laughing with Wally and Jon by their lockers.

Jon (grinning):

– Don't tell me you forgot the homework again!

Wally (chuckling):

– I'm counting on you, man. Besides, I had nightmares… and not the fun kind, Jon.

Kyle (slightly concerned):

– Nightmares? Since when?

Wally:

– Not sure... Started like two weeks ago. No real reason. Maybe they'll just fade away.

(In the background, the music subtly shifts… a faint ringing begins in Raven's ears.)

She suddenly stops, eyes widening. Her hand goes to her chest.

Raven (whispers):

– …This feeling… it's not natural…

---

🕳️ Meanwhile – Ground Floor – Abandoned Storage Room

A dusty old door, locked with a rusted padlock. But a faint black smoke is seeping from beneath it.

The door creaks open… by itself.

From within, whispers echo in an ancient tongue:

– "Vatarish… Malekthon… D'raxxel…"

A thick shadow begins to emerge, slowly forming the shape of a monstrous being.

Its glowing red eyes flicker as it walks, burning the floor beneath its feet. Lights in the hallway flicker and die.

Suddenly, the fire alarm blares.

Panic erupts. Students scream and scatter in every direction.

But the creature moves with purpose—straight toward Raven.

---

🚨 Chaos Breaks Out

> [Screaming, sirens, chaos… the sky outside seems to darken unnaturally.]

Kyle (with urgency):

– Wally! Get the others out of here—now!

Wally (nervous, but focused):

– Got it! Time to suit up!

He presses his ring. In a flash of lightning, his costume forms and he speeds off, guiding students to safety.

Kyle removes his glasses, rips off his shirt, and takes to the air.

A shadow-beast has fully emerged, its body shifting like living smoke, eyes burning like coals.

Its roar shatters nearby windows.

Jon (stunned):

– That thing… is not normal.

Meanwhile…

Damian quickly slips away from the crowd, unnoticed. From his bag, he pulls a black mask and a few compact weapons. He presses a hidden button, activating a lightweight armored suit.

Damian (coldly, to himself):

– This thing isn't natural… but if it bleeds, it can die.

He readies a short energy blade and a few smoke bombs.

– Let's try something painful.

---

The creature ignores everyone else. Its focus is locked on Raven, still frozen among the fleeing students.

Jon (alarmed):

– It's targeting her!

Kyle (pointing):

– Raven! Get back!

But she doesn't move. Her chest rises rapidly. She senses something inside her—something ancient and terrifying—begin to awaken.

Raven (whispering to herself):

– Why… why me?

The beast lunges forward, but Kyle intercepts it mid-air. They crash, but the monster throws him against the wall like nothing.

Jon fires a heat blast. Damian slashes at the shadow with his blade.

No effect.

The creature advances. Raven stands still, paralyzed.

Raven (choked):

– No… stay back…

Suddenly—a burst of violet energy erupts around her, throwing everyone back.

Arcane circles appear beneath her feet. Glowing symbols burn into the floor. Her eyes turn pitch black.

A voice—deep and echoing—speaks from within her mind:

> – "At last… you awaken, heir to the throne."

A giant shadowy bird unfurls from her body. Its wings crackle with dark energy. It dives straight at the monster, tearing into it.

The creature screams in agony, its form beginning to disintegrate.

Jon (in awe):

– What is that…?

Damian (watching, shaken):

– She's not normal…

The creature tries to flee, but the dark bird slashes again.

The shadow screams one last time and vanishes, leaving behind only black ash and strange glowing runes.

Raven collapses to her knees, breathing heavily. Everyone stares in silence.

---

🌆 Later – Rooftop of the School – After the Fire

The sky is gray. The distant city lights flicker in the background. The aftermath of the battle is still visible below.

Kyle, Damian, Wally, Jon, and Raven are alone, recovering.

Wally (nervously, glancing at Raven):

– That thing… it only looked at her. Didn't even notice the rest of us.

Jon (trying to calm things):

– Like it knew her. Like… they've met before.

Kyle (serious, quiet):

– It wasn't attacking the school. It was attacking her.

All eyes turn to Raven. She sits silently at the edge, staring into the distance.

Damian (stepping forward, accusing):

– When were you planning to tell us? Before or after someone died?

Raven (calm, heavy tone):

– I wasn't planning to say anything.

Because you wouldn't believe me…

Just like I didn't believe it, at first.

Silence. Damian stands still, his glare mixed with doubt.

Kyle (more gently):

– We're not blaming you. But we need to know what we're up against.

She takes a deep breath. Then, finally speaks—honestly.

---

🟣 Raven (soft but steady):

– My mother's name is Arella.

She was just a normal woman—until she got involved with a cult…

A cult that worships a being from another dimension.

His name is… Trigon.

Damian raises an eyebrow. Clearly his first time hearing the name.

Damian (dryly):

– Sounds demonic.

Raven:

– Not a metaphor. He's a demon.

And I'm… his daughter.

The air goes cold.

Wally and Jon exchange shocked glances.

Kyle stays calm, but clearly rattled.

Kyle (quiet):

– Was that him?

Raven (shaking her head):

– No. That was just a scout.

Something he sent… to test Earth.

To test me.

Wally (in disbelief):

– So… we fought a preview? Not even the real deal?

Raven (half-smiling, bitterly):

– It was enough… for me.

She looks downward. Then continues, her voice softer.

Raven:

– When my mother found out what the cult planned, she ran.

She took me to a place… called Azarath.

A world far away—peaceful. Full of people who suppress emotion…

So they don't summon darkness.

Kyle listens, intrigued.

Damian stays silent, watching closely.

Raven:

– I learned things there. Things no one here would understand.

How to control my feelings.

How to silence the voices.

How not to feel... because when I do—people get hurt.

He always finds me.

Sometimes… he sends things. Just to remind me he's watching.

Damian (still skeptical):

– So you came here… to hide?

Raven (looking him dead in the eye):

– I came here to stop him.

Before he turns me into something like him.

Kyle (quietly, firmly):

– Then we're in this together.

But if something worse is coming… we need to be ready.

All of us.

---

🌌 Later That Night – Inside the School – Silent Halls

The hallways are dark. Their footsteps echo.

Kyle, Damian, Jon, and Raven move cautiously through the abandoned upper floors.

Damian (checking a locked door):

– I told you. Something happened here. That energy… it wasn't normal.

Kyle (softly):

– I feel it too. Like something… waiting.

Jon (concerned):

– Raven? You okay? You seem… off.

She doesn't answer. She lags behind, eyes half-closed, like she's hearing something no one else can.

She stops in front of an old classroom. The wall looks normal—but she feels something.

Raven (whispers):

– A voice… it's calling me…

She touches the wall.

Suddenly—

The air distorts. Shadows ripple. A red symbol appears on the ground beneath her feet.

Dark shapes slither up from the floor.

Kyle (alarmed):

– Raven! Step back!

But she doesn't.

Her eyes glow red. She trembles, whispering:

> – "I am… the gate..."

Damian (grabbing his weapon):

– No, no, no… this is bad.

A shockwave erupts, throwing them all backward. Desks fly. Windows shatter.

Jon (shielding himself):

– We can't fight her! She's not in control!

Kyle (approaching cautiously):

– Raven! You're not alone! We're here, okay? Hear me!

But she screams—not in pain, but fear.

Raven (crying, glowing):

– I don't want this!

I don't want to be a gate!

I don't want to be like him!

One final explosion of energy rips the room apart. Then—silence.

She falls to her knees.

Breathing hard.

Then collapses.

Kyle rushes to her, kneeling beside her.

Kyle:

– Raven? Can you hear me?

She doesn't answer.

Eyes closed.

Pulse faint—but alive.

Jon (panting):

– Something was fighting inside her… like she was holding it back.

Damian (coldly):

– If we weren't here, she could've destroyed this place… or worse.

Kyle (serious):

– This is beyond us now.

We need to call the Justice League… now.

They look at each other.

The red sigil on the ground glows… one last time.

Somewhere far away… someone is watching.

And smiling.
