Chapter Five: Awakening and Fateful Decisions

Golden morning rays streamed through the wide windows of the room, gently touching Raven's pale face as she slowly opened her eyes. Her first breaths after waking were shaky, as if she were tasting air for the first time.

"You're finally awake."

Kara's warm voice filled the room. Supergirl sat beside the bed, gently holding Raven's hand. She wore civilian clothes, her golden hair glowing in the sunlight.

"How… how long was I out?" Raven whispered hoarsely.

"Two whole days." Kyle rushed in through the door, his messy hair even more unkempt than usual. "You were… you were screaming in your sleep. We were afraid Trigon was trying to—"

He stopped abruptly as a large hand gently rested on his shoulder.

"Let her breathe."

That voice. Raven slowly raised her head to meet the eyes of the man she had only known from legends.

Ben Tennyson.

He stood there, his brown hair , and green eyes carrying the weight of years of battle. The Omnitrix on his wrist glowed faintly, pulsing with a life of its own.

"Don't be afraid," Ben said, taking a seat across from her. "You're not in trouble. Kyle told me everything."

Raven clutched the blanket with trembling hands. "I… I didn't know I was the portal. I felt him enter my soul like I was just an empty vessel."

Ben nodded slowly, his eyes reflecting distant memories. "In the dimensional war, when I discovered the Omnitrix carried a piece of Kairus… I thought I was becoming just like him."

"And how… how did you stop it?"

"With help," Ben said, glancing at Kara who stood beside the bed, "from someone who kept reminding me of who I truly was." He turned back to Raven. "You're not Trigon. You're the girl who chose to fight her fate. And that's enough."

The silence that followed was heavy, but within it bloomed something new… a seed of hope.

[Justice League Headquarters]

A green flash, and Ben suddenly appeared in the heart of the League's main hall. Giant screens displayed maps of demonic energy spreading like a plague.

"You're late," Batman said without turning from the screens.

"I was reminding a girl she's not alone," Ben replied, taking in the changes around the hall.

The new members were present: Hawkgirl chatting with Green Arrow by the window, Shazam reviewing files with focus, and even Black Adam stood silently in a corner, his gaze assessing.

"Ben?!" Flash (Barry Allen) vanished and reappeared in front of him instantly. "Finally! We thought you were retired forever."

Aquaman laughed as he approached. "Retirement doesn't suit legends like you."

Even Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) gave him a distant nod and a smile. "You're older… and still bragging."

Batman and Ben explainthe situation

"Raven isn't the threat," Ben explained to the team. "She's the victim. Trigon uses her emotions as a bridge."

Superman (Clark Kent) folded his arms. "Then the solution is to isolate her? Send her to the Amazons?"

"Yes," Wonder Woman interjected. "In Themyscira, we can help her master her emotions—and her power."

Hawkgirl jumped into the debate. "And is that fair? Imprisoning her just because her father's a demon?"

"It's not a prison," Ben said firmly. "It's salvation. The more control she has, the fewer monsters will appear."

Batman ended the debate with a decisive tone:

"It's not optional. But we'll need a team to monitor things. It's time the younger ones were prepared."

Superman hesitated. "By younger ones, you mean… Kyle, Jon, Wally, Damian? They're still just kids. Our kids."

Flash seemed to agree—he still saw Wally as too young for such threats.

"Clark," Ben said calmly, though his voice carried the weight of the dimensional war. "If a threat like Kairus rises again, would you want them unprepared? I know it's a hard decision. I'm a father too. But we have to trust them. And we'll step in if things go wrong."

The room fell silent. Even Black Adam, who rarely spoke, nodded in agreement.

The decision was made.

[At Ben's Home]

Raven stood by the window in her room, gazing at the horizon where red clouds loomed in the distance. Kyle stood beside her.

"You're going to Themyscira, aren't you?"

Raven nodded. "But I'll come back. And when I do… we'll be ready."

In her eyes shone a resolve to rewrite her destiny.
