Besto Furendos In A School Of Sociopaths

Chapter 11: Preceding The Day Of Revelations

I'm also occasionally chilling in JaxWolf4's (Author of Nah, I'd Adapt) Discord Server. It's a chaotic lobotomy mess. Not for the faint of heart.

-Story Start-

April 29th.

Class 1-D has settled into a routine.

The dynamics of the 1st day were but a foreshadowing of the current dynamics.

As they stood relatively similarly.

Groups formed within the class that consist of fitting individuals and friends.

All under the invisible force named - Power.

The popular group headed by Hirata and the popular extroverted girls surrounding him.

Flimsy groups formed for a sense of coherence and belonging:

The idiot group - Haruki Yamauchi, Kanji Ike, and loosely Sudo Ken.

No one openly states the status quo - But each member of Class 1-D is internally aware of it.

Aware of their position in the Class.

Then, there are the Unique Individuals, who don't strictly belong to a set group:

Firstly, there are the Loners - Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, Haruka Hasebe, Horikita Suzune, Airi Sakura, and more.

However, given it's still the 1st month of school, it is only natural that it would take the more reserved students some time to fit into a particular group or even form one amongst themselves.

in that group, exists the subgroup of...

Content Loners.

For all intents and purposes, these individuals would appear to be more than desirable and skilled to fit into any group they would have wished for, yet they remain contently within their own set of boundaries.

Rokusuke Koenji and Todo Aoi belong to this subgroup.

Or... They're too busy right now to even consider attaching themselves to any one group or forcibly pulled into one.

Their intentions and thought processes are a clear enigma.

Then... We have the last individuals to take into consideration.

Categorized as the - Social Nomads.

While they may linger with a certain group, they do not stick for long and are welcome to any group within the Class Hierarchy.

They enter and leave at their leisure; their friendly, likable, and charismatic nature allows them free reign to do so.

There are but two individuals within this category:

Itadori Yuuji and Kushida Kikyo.

And today, once more, this dynamic calls to Yuuji:

As homeroom ended once again, following the sliding of the door at Chabashira's exit.

The class broke out into a racket as it inevitably always did.

"Itadori-kun! Yesterday's Karaoke was a blast! We're going at it again, wanna join?" Sato innocently questioned, tilting her head as she gave Yuuji an expectant look.

Blinking, he scratched his head, humming in consideration, "Hmm..."

Turning to Aoi, whose seat was beside him, he questioned, "Are you busy today as well, Aoi? We've gone to the Club this week so Yoshida-senpai won't be mad, right?"

At the prospect of Aoi being busy, Yuuji's expression soured.

Truth be told, Aoi has been increasingly busy with something Yuuji has no clue about.

He hadn't questioned it much, as Aoi simply and assuredly replied: "Do not worry, my brother."

...But at this rate, it's getting annoying.

Yuuji would never go with a group when Aoi was in his lonesome and not "Busy."

But the feeling of shame of leaving Aoi alone had been gnawing at Yuuji, so he must get to the bottom of this.

Now.

Aoi nodded with a decisive tone, "Yes, I have business scheduled." He stroked his chin thoughtfully.

This time, Yuuji was blunt: "What kinda business, bro?" His eyes narrowed in suspicion at Aoi.

"Barber Business," Aoi stated matter of factly, nodding in pride.

Before Yuuji called out Aoi on his bullshit.

He considered for a moment who his Best Friend was.

Aoi was many things.

A liar, he was not.

Yuuji blinked, turning to the rather patient and awkward figure of Sato whom he left hanging, "Did you... Know about this?" He pointed a thumb at Aoi.

Sato was one of those gossip girls, he was certain she probably talked about it if she knew.

"I've heard that some boys and girls from other classes actually getting a haircut from Todo-san. Most liked them, some didn't because of his... Ah, well, not that I've ever considered getting a haircut from him." She sent a subdued glare at Aoi, reminded of his awful and still not improved first impressions.

Shaking her head, Sato pressed forward, "Anyway, Itadori-kun. Are you coming or not? We're leaving now."

He snapped out of his daze, saying, "Nah, I'm not going to leave you guys hanging. Enjoy yourselves; I'm heading out with Aoi today." He gave a thumbs-up.

She huffed in slight annoyance but left to rejoin the group of girls and Hirata waiting at the door.

From afar, Hirata's question lingered, "Why not let Todo-kun join us, he appears to be a man of moral integrit-"

"NO WAY!"

He smiled sadly as they left.

Sighing, Yuuji turned back to Aoi, "You've been a barber this whole time?"

Aoi had no shame in his expression, nay, a smile of pride formed, "Indeed. It was a steady process, but I am still working on getting a good reputation and customer base."

Yuuji's palm met his face with a resounding facepalm as he muttered in disbelief, "I can't believe I had no idea you were doing something like this. Dude..."

-------------------------------

Entering the elevator, Yuuji exclaimed, "So... What's like... The point of doing this?"

He mumbled with a lowered head, "You wouldn't worry about something like this needlessly... It's related to the whole Points thing of the School right?"

The elevator opened to the 1st floor, as they walked forward.

Aoi nodded, "It started as a hypothesis, but I've garnered enough evidence to prove that mere hypothesis as reality."

A tense silence reigned.

Yuuji's voice suddenly cut through it, "We're not getting 100,000 points next month... Right?" He used the clues Aoi had given him to come to this conclusion himself.

Turning to Aoi with a perplexed look, he started, "I've tried to save up points, and I've warned the class that we should be a bit more careful... But. When you had a clear hypothesis, I could have told them the truth... Why hadn't you said anything?"

Shaking his head as they reached the door to his room, Aoi answered with naught a hint of shame in his tone, "My first usage of points, to move seats, had planted the seed. Yet, the Class hadn't questioned the school despite it. Only unconfirmed suspicion and more creative usage of their points."

Aoi's prior act of moving seats was but a catalyst to the inevitable moving of seats of other students.

Those who loathed one another moved to those whom they liked, for example.

As well as other creative purchases using Points.

Like Loans...

Aoi met eyes with Yuuji, "Regardless of the Class situation or if you decide to use all your points carelessly. My brother. I personally assure you that we shall overcome all adversity."

Aoi's words were met with an agonized sigh from Yuuji.

Truthfully, that kind of answer was no surprise for Yuuji.

He's known Aoi for a long time.

The prospect of him caring about the Class never came to the forefront of his mind.

But...

"At the very least you could have told me that, ya know? I'd have relayed it all to the Class." Yuuji tiredly complained.

Swiping his keycard over the door, Room 104 slid open in front of Aoi.

He turned to Yuuji, shaking his head matter of factly, "Doing that, would have set a clear tone for the future, my friend."

Yuuji arched an eyebrow at Aoi's insinuation, so the latter elaborated:

He mercilessly stated, "You would be placed in a messenger position. I would give the answers, you would deliver them. The tone I seek to set is that I help only those who I seek to help. You will not be used as a tool to prompt my movements." Aoi shook his head as he asserted.

Gesturing at his room, which was assembled in a way that made Yuuji's eyes boggle:

The standard small and minimalistic space was assembled to look like a genuine barbershop:

Two vintage-style barber chairs stood proudly before their respective mirrors.

A full range of high-end barber tools sparkled from a neatly organized station.

The kitchen sink, repurposed as a hair-washing station, added a practical yet quirky touch.

"...Is that blood on the floor?" Yuuji mumbled in anxious worry.

Walls were adorned with vibrant posters and images of Takada-chan, giving the room a lively and rather fanatic vibe.

A large sign of - "Takada-Chan Barbery."

A sight that welcomed all guests into the establishment.

With prices below:

Men's haircut: 5,000 Points.

Women's haircut: Prices vary on service but roughly 6,000-10,000 Points.

(15% Discount if you are subscribed to Takada-chan's YouTube Channel prior to entry to the Takada-chan Barbery.)

(Up to 30-50% Discount if I like your Type Of Woman/Man. You must sign a legal document that allows me to incur physical harm upon you without any repercussions prior to answering the inquiry.)

Aoi smirked, "The Class may only hope to get offhanded scraps from our interactions and my whims. The fruit of my labor is only for those I care about and Brother to enjoy."

"W-Why tell me this now, Aoi?"

Aoi snorted, "Because by now, it'll be too late." He shook his head helplessly.

"Be prepared brother. Things will certainly be getting interesting, very soon."

Yuuji stared in disbelief, struggling to process the fact that he had just now discovered Aoi's barbershop.

Especially when he already had an apparent customer base.

-------------------------------

"Is there really nothing I can do for the Class now?" Yuuji frowned from the guest sofa as he observed Aoi cut the hair of some random dude from Class 2-C.

Aoi gave no response, as his eyes were laser-focused on providing great service.

Finishing the haircut, the boy nodded appreciatively, "Thanks a lot! Your prices are a damn blessing man."

Aoi nodded, accepting the transference of points, "Come again. Make sure to subscribe to Takada-chan's YouTube Channel for a discount next time." His eyes met with the boy.

Aoi added, "You may also sign this document for a great discount given you anwe-"

The boy chuckled nervously, gazing nervously at Aoi's hulking visage, "Yeah... I know how that ended for that guy from 3-D. I'm not risking it."

"Very well... I bid you farewell." Aoi waved goodbye.

With that, Aoi lowered his head to his phone, checking up on the group chat named:

"Takada-Chan Barbery Reservations"

He hummed, "We've got twenty minutes until my next customer."

"YOU'VE GOT A WHOLE RESERVATION GROUP CHAT?!" Yuuji pointed in awe.

"...How did I find out about this whole shtick just now?" Yuuji felt a tad stupid.

He never was one to pay much attention.

Put simply, Itadori Yuuji is usually clueless.

Aoi ignored that remark, recalling Yuuji's prior question, "There is nothing you can do for the Class. A warning to save up points with the reasoning that we may not get 100,000 Points next month might dull some damage. But it will ultimately not change the outcome."

"Mistakes and lack of awareness are the fault of the Students. There is no denying it. Optimistically, this will be a lesson for our class, as they improve their finances and behavior." Aoi elaborated.

Yuuji shook his head, "That doesn't matter... I'll warn the Class either way."

"Have it your way, my brother." Aoi nodded.

His fingers rapidly typing at his phone for a good few minutes, Yuuji finally dropped it, "Done..."

He sighed, "You aren't planning on helping the Class no matter what, is it?"

Aoi smirked, "I won't repeat myself, brother. My focus is that both of us and those whom I favor thrive. Any acts that would indicate otherwise? Mere whims or exciting prospects."

Yuuji considered ways of getting Aoi to actually help the Class, cause this is a whole worrying mess.

How much are they going to get next month?

90,000?

50,000?

10,000?

Those thoughts ran amok in Yuuji's mind.

He offered the only way Aoi could ever cooperate, "Should our Classes act in competition with one another? Would you help?"

Yuuji's eyes narrowed dangerously at Aoi.

Yuuji anticipated Aoi's response with a mixture of frustration and resignation.

Aoi's smirk widened as he declared, "That's right, brother. When we're united, we never lose."

"Then let's hope we are pitted against other classes then..." Yuuji scratched his head with a pained sigh.

Aoi's broad smirk hadn't left him, "Certainly, let's. I'm glad your competitive spirit has returned!"

Yuuji's eyes met with the ceiling of Aoi's room turned Barbery, a distant look in his eye, "I still hate the thought of winners and losers. It grates my mind really..." The reluctance in his voice was transparent.

Would such naivete and goodwill serve to be a source of hurt or growth for Itadori Yuuji?

Todo Aoi knows the answer.

"Say... Where did the idea for this even come from?"

"I'm glad you asked!"

Current Assets:

Aoi calculates the Takada-Chan Barbery's Asset Worth using the formula:

128,000 × MIN((26 × (1 + g)^n) / 26, 52)

Aoi carefully considers the formula, which projects the barbershop's growth while factoring in customer retention and potential obstacles.

Aoi understands that the customer base currently stands at 26 students a month, and with an estimated growth rate (g), he anticipates this number could increase by 20-30% each month as the yearly average.

It may be 200% growth next month, but a measly 5% growth the following month, it all averages out to 20-30% a month throughout the year.

This growth amounts to his cheaper competitive prices in comparison with the School's own official barbery.

However, he remains cautious, knowing that growth cannot be infinite given the School's estimated 480 Students.

Aoi has set a cap of 52 customers per month thus far.

Double the current base; believing this is a realistic upper limit given the barbershop's single barber resource.

He also considers potential setbacks, like unexpected challenges from the school's tests or other disruptions or activities that could hinder operations.

By using the formula, Aoi ensures that the estimation remains grounded in reality.

However, given this is only the 1st month Aoi lacks any more data to make a better estimation.

Having discerned the School's true nature, it may be possible that starting next month, he may garner more customers from Class 1-D and 1-C thanks to the cheaper prices.

Aoi aims to attract up to 100 customers each month but remains prepared to explore other options if this target isn't met.

This is only a pessimistic estimation.

Aoi believes even 150~200 monthly customers are not farfetched.

The only hindrance may be that he will have to work a lot harder and faster.

Maybe hire some help...

Current Liabilities:

- TV Financing Deal (10,000 Points Per Month For 10 Months).
