Chapter 10: Club Fair & ??? Club
I'm also occasionally chilling in JaxWolf4's (Author of Nah, I'd Adapt) Discord Server. It's a chaotic lobotomy mess. Not for the faint of heart.

-Story Start-
Yuuji and Aoi's eyes were greeted with the familiar sight of the spacious Gymnasium, however, it had been rearranged in a rather drastic manner.
Many distinct booths with allegedly older Club Members are there to recruit the eager and new 1st years.
Some 1st years from other classes were already there and signing up.
Aoi's stern gaze fixated on each, folding his arms as he read the names of the clubs aloud:
"Our options are quite vast, my brother." He started.
"The Archery Club. I believe you shall excel in it, your Rhomboids and Trapezius are extremely well-developed. There shall be no competition there for you."
"My aim is decent but not that good," Yuuji mentioned, commenting in between.
"The Basketball Club. Your vertical leap, compact size, and power will serve you to dominate the court."
"I'd probably suck passing to anyone who isn't you." Yuuji nodded.
"Volleyball Club. The same argument for Basketball pertains here."
"Haikyuu was pretty cool..." Yuuji mumbled.
"It was, but Manga is not like real life." Aoi shook his head in lament.
"As for the Soccer Club. I do not recommend it." Aoi deadpanned.
"Why?" Yuuji blinked.
"It is a game only egoists excel at, and I do not wish for us to try and outpace one another." Aoi nodded sagely.
"...Have you been getting your Soccer Knowledge from Blue Lock?" Yuuji sniffed out the irony.
Coughing, Aoi continued, "Cuisine Club. Brother, it may do good for your cooking skills. For you are rather inadequate in that discipline."
"Oi! I make killer Ramen."
"From a cup."
"I know what I said!"
Aoi shook his head, "Then I suppose that is eliminated..."
Lifting his head from his lamentable state, he continued his reading, "Swimming Club. I would pity anyone who attempts to contest you in that sport."
"I'm pretty bad at holding my breath."
"That did not stop you from breaking Records in Middle School, my friend."
"...Think we should just go for the "Going Home After School" Club this time around? I'm not feeling anything competitive or sports right now."
Aoi frowned, questioning, "Have the competitions from Baseball served to wrong you?"
Scratching his head, "Nah, it's just... I hate going up against people you know? It was fun winning with you and the team, but it's just..."
He sighed, smiling awkwardly, "When you see the reactions of the other team... That just gets ya down."
Patting Yuuji's shoulder, with a reassuring smirk, Aoi praised, "That naivete and kindness is what makes you unique, my brother."
Shaking his head, Aoi relented, "Then I shall skip out on the Sport-related Clubs. I expect you to put on a performance worthy of yourself, regardless of which club we join."
"...Didn't I just suggest the going home club?"
"Nonsense! Let us read through all the options before making a decision."
"Ah... Fine."
Nodding, pleased, Aoi resumed, "Now, that leaves us with..."
"Tea Ceremony Club. It would instill some much-needed elegance in you."
"Look who's talking..." Yuuji snorted.
"Now, for the final two options: Student Coun-"
Making a big X mark with his arms, Yuuji stated with certainty, "Rejected! If the Middle School's Student Council looked like they were being slaved around. Then this School's Student Council might as well be literal slave labor!"
Tilting his head, Aoi mentioned, "The Student Council Vice President did not seem all too preoccupied, if he were fooling around with women."
Pointing a finger at Aoi, Yuuji mentioned with vehemence, "Probably an exception! He's 2nd in power! The 1st year grunts are going to be forced to work from after school to 6:00 AM or something!"
Stroking his chin, Aoi stated with a clear note of confidence, "Yuuji. We are the exception."
A broad grin on his face, he continued, "It'll be interesting. Leave the gathering of Power within the Council to me-"
"Re. Je. Ct. Ed!" Yuuji did not have any of it.
Huffing, Aoi stated, "Then, there is the final option... The Art Club."
Aoi had no comment on that one.
Folding his arms, Yuuji hummed in contemplation, considering their options.
"Is going home clu-"
"Rejected." Aoi mirrored Yuuji's prior tone.
Slumping his shoulders, Yuuji mumbled, "Figures..."
Then, an idea popped into Yuuji's head, "Think reading and discussing Manga and Anime fall within the category of "Art"? Since there isn't an actual Literature Club here."
Aoi's figure froze, as his entire being was dedicated to his thinking, suddenly a broad grin pasted itself on his face.
"T-Takada-chan's work is also a form of Art!"
Itadori Yuuji needed no more prompting, for after that sentence, he was sure Todo Aoi would not accept any other club besides the Art Club.
"Alright, I'm signing us up." Yuuji nodded, his tone firm.
Obviously, Yuuji and Aoi weren't the only ones interested in checking out the available Clubs of this prestigious Academy.
"Pfft, do you two always talk like this?" A girl from their class giggled.
Hirata, who stood beside her also gave a chuckle, "You have to admit, they are amusing."
Yuuji's expression turned apologetic, "Oh, my bad! I kinda forgot you two were there... Sorry, Onodera-san, Yosuke."
Waving his hand in dismissal of the apology, Hirata smiled, "It's fine. It was entertaining for us, but I'm guessing you two will be joining the Art Club?"
The two of them nodded, though Aoi's gaze was firm and dissecting on Hirata.
"With how Todo-san has described you, you're quite the athlete. Well, it should be a given with how you were in the Nationals in Baseball. And so is Todo from what I can see..."
Flashing a friendly and genuine smile, Hirata continued, "I'm planning on signing up to the Soccer Club, I'd be glad to have my fellow classmates with me! Mind changing your minds? Of course, it's your choice! I'm trying my chances."
Yuuji turned with an innocent look towards Onodera, a question in his gaze.
Onodera waved her hand, stating bluntly, "I don't care either way, I'm just here to sign up for the Swimming Club since Yosuke-kun and Sudo-san were the only other people to come here besides the two of you."
She pointed at Sudo who was speaking with the upperclassmen, "He's as you can see..."
Then she pointed at the other pair to arrive and discern the Clubs here, "Ayanokoji-san and Horikita-san aren't that approachable."
"That left Yosuke. Itadori-kun and Todo-san... Well, Itadori-kun cancels out your... Oddness." She bluntly and ruthlessly pointed at Aoi.
Who ignored it completely, as he stroked his chin, "We are quite compatible." Nodding at the... Compliment?
Yuuji blinked at that rapid-fire truth bomb that Onodera decided to utter, turning back to Hirata to answer his request, "Sorry, bro. I'm deadset on the Art Club. And with his conviction..."
He pointed at the Takada-Enthralled Aoi, "There's no choice BUT the Art Club, hehe." He chuckled a bit.
Yosuke nodded in understanding, "It's alright, I'm glad some classmates are joining clubs. It's really healthy all things considered. But Todo-san's reason... Takada-san was it?"
At that utter, Aoi's gaze sharpened at Yosuke, as an invisible pressure pressed down on his shoulder.
Chuckling nervously, and lifting his hands in a placating gesture, Yosuke answered the unspoken question with a sweatdrop, "My little sister likes her a lot, so I'm familiar with her."
"Your little sister has good taste," Aoi stated matter-of-factly, his gaze softer.
Yet, it returned with full force, as he locked eyes with Yosuke, dropping a sudden and unexpected inquiry:
"What is your type of woman? If you like men that's fine too."
Onodera blinked at that question, a creeped-out expression on her face, drawling out a:
"Yeahhhh... I'll be going to sign up for my club. Although this would be quite a piece of worthy gossip, I'll respect the Bro Code or whatever! See you later Hirata-kun!"
Hirata sighed, mumbling a thoughtful, "That type of question, huh..."
Yuuji's eyes sharpened in a warning to Aoi, yet Aoi persisted, "Indeed, it is that type of question. I expect an answer."
Lifting his gaze, Hirata responded with the blunt truth, "I have no type nor interest in romance or even women... I don't think that's something that is going to change now or in the future."
Following Hirata's answer, a heavy silence enveloped the three boys.
Yuuji was ready to grab hold of Aoi before he could cause any damage to others and his own reputation - Regardless of whether Aoi cared for it.
His eyes hadn't shifted from Aoi, yet Yuuji couldn't help but pity the girls in the class, who even a blind idiot could notice were infatuated with Hirata, "...I think I can hear the cries of a thousand women."
Aoi huffed, shaking his head and providing his final verdict, "You are a troubled individual. My acquaintance."
"Pardon?" Hirata blinked at the assessment.
"It is as I said. You are troubled, I recommend you meditate on the matter." Aoi repeated.
Turning to Yuuji with a questioning look, Hirata received a shaking of the head. "You can't argue with him. People's type in women is basically how he gets a read on you." Yuuji lectured.
Hirata mumbled, donning a serious expression, "I see..."
A moment later, his smile returned, as he waved goodbye, "I'll be going to see if Ayanokoji-san and Horikita-san might be interested. Good luck with the Art Club!"
"Yeah, thanks, see you later, Yosuke!" Yuuji mirrored Hirata's gesture.
Signing up for the Art Club was no issue at all.
The Vice President present at the booth acted as the recruiter, although a poorly selected one as he wasn't all that talkative.
His purpose was simple, gather the new signees, and bring them to the Art Club Room.
-------------------------------
Yuuji, Aoi, and three other 1st year students entered the Art Club Room and were greeted with...
A rather impressive mixture of varied stations in a spacious room.
To their right, is a collection of seats with canvases ready for painting, a projector pointing at a whiteboard in front of the seats, and a computer connected to it in the corner.
At their front, an actual, honest sculpting station, with marble and everything which is likely hazardous in the wrong hands.
The sculpting station was accompanied by Woodworking and even Ceramics.
And finally, to their left, was a small library with books and pens to practice calligraphy, writing, literature, and otherwise.
Yuuji did his best to keep his jaw from falling to the floor, "J-Just when you think you've seen it all in this school. This is so high budget!" He exclaimed.
Note: What Yuuji failed to notice is the odd art presented.
Extra Note: There are marble sculptures of muscular cats and dogs.
Extra Extra Note: There are also large canvases of drawn Tomboys in Manga format.
"FIRST YEARS!" A loud, struggling shout caught the attention of Yuuji, Aoi, and the other three 1st years.
Turning their heads, they were greeted with the figure of a girl.
The girl's appearance, however, prompted a raised eyebrow.
Long cascading brown hair, azure eyes laced with insanity, a roguishly charming grin, and a generous figure.
All wrapped in a... Boy's uniform?
She looked as if it was tight on the chest, as her face was progressively getting paler.
One of the 1st years, nervously suggested with a worried expression, "Erm, miss... I think you should-"
The vice president, silently approached the girl, unbuttoning the uniform without any change in expression.
The uniform loosened, revealing the white shirt underneath, allowing the girl to breathe.
One of the 1st years, the only boy besides Yuuji and Aoi huffed, "How dimwitted..."
The girl took a deep breath, "Thank you! Ren-kun!"
He grunted with annoyance.
She waved him off, "Oh, don't mind him! He's just a little shy around new people!"
"Get to the point. Our time is precious." Aoi folded his arms with narrowed eyes.
Yuuji whispered, "Did we even plan anything after this?"
"I did."
"Really? Wha-"
"Impatient are we? Well! Gather around! We'll do some introductions!" She gestured enthusiastically.
-------------------------------
Everyone was seated in a circle, except for the two leading members who sat in front of the rookies.
Gesturing to herself, ignoring the stoic looks from the men beside her at her provocative appearance, the eccentric girl introduced herself, "I am this fine club's President! Yoshida Rei! From Class 3-C. Your most elusive! Beautiful! Passionate! And Wise Senpai!"
"Nice to meet you Yoshida-senpai!" Yuuji lifted his arms with good cheer.
Aoi nodded absentmindedly, as he seemed to be scrutinizing everything around him.
"I-I hope we can get along!" One of the 1st year girls smiled nervously.
Whilst the other two 1st years remained quiet.
Yoshida then gestured to the Vice President, "This guy is Aoyama Ren! He's... Umm..."
The now-named Aoyama's expression was as still and indecipherable as prior.
Black-haired, green-eyed, and seemingly dead on the inside wrapped in a lean figure.
Yoshida commented on the obvious conclusion, with a finger on her lip, "He's a bit lacking in character."
Aoyama sniffed slightly, yet his expression hadn't changed.
Patting him on the back, "But! When it comes to Art! He's as passionate as they get! So I hope you can get along with him!"
Aoyama nodded, "Let's get along." He stated honestly.
Narrowing her eyes, Yoshida grabbed him by the back of his neck roughly, much to everyone's surprise, "Oi... Don't you think you've been taking that "Shy and Stoic" Archetype too far?!"
Aoyama stifled out a sentence as Yoshida's strength was not to be underestimated, "Y-You're scaring the 1st years!"
Ceasing her chokehold, Yoshida turned to the seated 1st years, most of whom held a thoroughly confused expression.
She noted, "Nah, only this little cute 1st year has a little fear in her..." She approached the shy and nervous 1st year girl.
Slowly, the 1st year got paler, as Yoshida gently placed her cold and intimidating hand on the girl's face, "And what's your name?" She purred.
"E-Erm I'm Chihiro Shiranami. 1-B." She fearfully mumbled out.
"You'll be a fine member of the Art Club. Chihiro-chan~" Yoshida stated with a sweet and rather ominous edge.
"Mhm!" Chihiro agreed with faux enthusiasm to mask her fear.
Backing away from the spooked Chihiro, Yoshida folded her arms under her breasts with a pleased expression.
Turning to the other frowning girl in the 1st year.
"How about you, Frownie?" She pointed at the patient and nonchalant figure.
"Masumi Kamuro. 1-A." The girl answered swiftly.
Yoshida let out a whistle as she elbowed Aoyama, "Well, well, would you look at that! We've got some good ones this year!"
"Can we be quick about it? I've got work to do." He complained for the first time, ignoring her statement.
Much to her pout.
Aoi's eyes narrowed at that vague sentence, as he shifted his attention from analyzing the room back to the club leaders in front of him.
"How about you, Height, Muscles, and Busy?" Yoshida flexed her arms as she pointed at Aoi, listing all his adjectives.
Aoi replied immediately, "Todo Aoi. 1-D. My type is a tall woman with a big butt."
The women of the group shifted to look at Aoi with mixed feelings, Masumi hadn't hidden her disgusted frown from Aoi.
Yoshida blinked at that introduction.
Humming as she suddenly turned around, heading toward a table.
Finding a measuring tape, she returned to her spot.
Lowering herself, she extended the measuring tape from her feet up to her head, reading the measurement with a serious expression, "160 Centimeters."
Letting the measuring tape go, it flew back to its folded state with a loud plop, as she flashed an apologetic expression at Aoi, "Sorry, buddy. Your favorite senpai here isn't up to the standards!"
Aoi snorted in amusement, folding his arms, "It is fine. It was not meant to be."
Yoshida reassured, for no reason whatsoever, "I also don't like 'em young, so it wouldn't have worked out anyway!"
Shaking her head, she turned to Yuuji, "How about you... Cheerful and Pink-Haired? ...Did you dye that color by the way? I've got to say! I love the color!" She gave a thumbs up.
Chuckling, Yuuji answered, "Thanks! It's natural... I don't know how though... I'm Itadori Yuuji! Class 1-D! Nice to meet you two! I've also got to ask... Are there any other members?"
Yoshida nodded, mirroring his polite cheerfulness, "Nice to meet you! Yuuji-kun! Yes, there are other members, they are just a bit... Preoccupied."
Blinking once more, Yoshida stroked her chin in a contemplative gesture, "How odd... This kid's got some kinda likeability charisma. I responded normally! How could that happen?! I'm immune to societal pressures! I made sure of it!"
"Erm... We can hear you, Yoshida-senpai?" Yuuji mumbled.
"Not now pink stuff! I'm going through an identity crisis!" Yoshidia exclaimed in a panic.
Then, much to everyone's surprise, a slap echoed loudly in the room.
Yoshida's cheek was a bright red, as Aoyama's hand glided past it, having impacted it in a beautiful slap.
A tense silence enveloped the Art Club Room, as Yoshida's possible follow-up both intrigued and concerned the 1st years.
"Thanks! I needed that!" Yoshida gave Aoyama two thumbs-up.
"That's it... I'm leaving. This is a whole club of nonsense. Not Art." One of the 1st year boys huffed in utter irritation, having risen up from his seat with a loud declaration.
Yoshida turned with a saddened frown to Aoyama, "NO! WE LOST ONE! REN-KUN WHAT WILL WE DO?!"
"I don't know." He bluntly mentioned.
"WELL AREN'T YOU JUST A USEFUL VICE PRESIDENT!" She argued, pointing her finger at his chest.
The 1st year's footsteps echoed in the room amid the accusations and arguments of the Club Leaders, as the door opened and closed with a dramatic and loud slide.
With a mood swing so powerful it'd give anyone whiplash, the eccentric Yoshida placed her hands on her hips, "Well, that's one down. But! This was a commitment test! And all of you have passed with flying colors!"
Opening her wide arms to gesture at the entire and loaded Art Room, she exclaimed:
"Sculpt majestic and muscular marble figures with Moi! My goal for my last year here is to sculpt a masterpiece!" She gestured at the Marble Sculpting section.
Her expression turned cheeky and haughty, "Though, if we're being honest, anything I sculpt is automatically a masterpiece, I mean... Look at this!" She gestured at a marble sculpture of an overtly muscular and detailed hamster.
"Nice detail!" Yuuji complimented.
"Thank you~! Ahem! Draw questionable Tomboy Art with Ren-kun with our vast selection of paint and canvases for unlimited uses! I have an in with President Horikita so don't worry about the budget!" She gestured at the right flank of the Room.
"Tomboy art? He doesn't seem like the type." Yuuji mumbled aloud.
"Y-Yeah I agree." Chihiro nodded as well, both of them looking at Aoyama with a puzzled look.
"He's shy, just wait for him to get heated or comfortable around you." She slapped Aoyama's stoic face lightly with both her hands.
He made no outward reaction, as he stood still as a statue.
Coughing she continued her presentation, "Ahem! Write or read up on fine literature! The BL section is on the third row over there by the way!" She gestured at the miniature library.
Hands on her hips, her head held up high, Yoshida exclaimed, "Are all of you ready to take part in the Best Club on the Planet?!"
...
Yuuji lifted his hand, "Umm, I'm just here to discuss and read Manga."
