Betrayed by My Alpha, Bound to the King

Chapter 1: Heartbreak

'You're mine, Ayesha. My Luna. My forever.'

Ayesha's cheeks flushed as she remembered those tender words. Alpha Ronan had spoken them last night while their bodies were entwined, as if there were no tomorrow.

She blushed deeply and shyly touched her warm face, trying to calm her racing heartbeat driven by anticipation. Then, she straightened up and subconsciously grasped the fabric of her best dress for the day's ceremony.

Currently, everyone was gathered in their Alpha's grand hall. All waited eagerly since today, Alpha Ronan of Crimson Howl Pack would reveal the woman who would become his Luna.

She could feel her heartbeat pounding loudly as she patiently waited with the pack for the Alpha to ascend the decorated platform for the Luna's Rite.

Everyone said their Alpha never slept with the same woman twice, using and discarding them, and no one remembered him ever paying attention to Ayesha. She was just another face in the crowd. But everything changed on her twentieth birthday when her scent suddenly broke free.

Alpha Ronan was the first to notice it, finding her and claiming her body. He touched her like she was more than an omega, calling for her night after night and bringing her to his bed as if she were a drug he couldn't quit.

"No wonder there are so many lowly omegas gathered here. They probably believe someone like them will be chosen as our Alpha's Luna. Pathetic dreamers!"

Ayesha swallowed hard. She was used to being criticised, so she simply ignored it. What mattered most were Ronan's feelings for her, truly, genuine feelings, and that was all that counted.

Everyone gasped as the Alpha finally made his entrance, dressed in his regal black and gold attire, walking toward the raised platform where the council and elders sat. Ayesha kept her eyes on him, hoping he would notice her in the crowd. She had made sure to be in the front row, after all.

But disappointment settled over her when Ronan didn't look her way. Her heart raced as she whispered to herself, 'Perhaps he's about to surprise me, and he'll look at me once he declares I'm his Luna.'

"Today is a very special day for our pack because our Alpha, Ronan Thorne, will be united with his fated Luna," announced one of the Elders.

Cheers erupted, and Ayesha felt her heart might burst from too much excitement. She didn't blink as Ronan stepped forward to address his pack and introduce his chosen Luna.

"I present to you the Luna of Crimson Howl Pack, Luciana Gray."

The words thundered from inside the grand ceremonial hall like a harsh slap across Ayesha's face. Her body froze in place. Her heart stopped.

'Luciana Gray?'

She hadn't misheard. That was Ronan's voice. Ronan… her Alpha. her lover. The man who whispered, 'You smell like sin… and something I don't want to live without,' just last night.

Her legs moved before her mind could catch up. "That can't be! No!" Ayesha cried out, eyes wide, as she rushed toward the raised platform but was stopped by the guards.

"Back away, omega!" one of the guards snarled.

"Ronan!" she called him by the name he loved whenever they were alone together.

"She must have lost her mind, addressing the Alpha just by his name! Why is she acting up and causing a scene on this joyful occasion?!" one of the council members growled. He turned to the guards and commanded, "Drag that woman away!"

"Ronan, please," she begged, eyes never leaving Ronan, who merely stared at the woman approaching him. Ayesha followed his gaze and saw a woman walking towards him, dressed in a regal gown that matched Ronan's gold and black attire.

"Please," she begged again, eyes back to Ronan, as the guards dragged her away.

"Did she really believe the Alpha would make her his Luna? What a delusional, lowly omega," some mocked as she was being pulled away by two guards.

Then they shoved her outside the hall, and her body hit the ground. "We'll chain and lock you if you don't cooperate! Go away now!" one of the guards grunted.

Tears stung her eyes, but she refused to let them fall in front of them. She slowly stood up, only to be deliberately pushed on her shoulder by a high-ranking she-wolf.

The she-wolf sneered, "Back to scrubbing floors, little bed-warmer. Guess the Alpha got bored."

Ayesha stayed silent. She quickly turned away, quietly slipping down the garden path. She reached the shade of a marble statue and collapsed against it, pressing a trembling hand over her mouth to silence the sobs tearing through her. Her vision blurred from tears, but she didn't mind.

"I trusted him. It was all just... insignificant to him," she whispered, her voice trembling and cracked. Ayesha wiped her tears, pushed herself to stand, and quickly retreated to her brother's small house before anyone could see her like this.

She entered the room and suddenly bent forward, clutching her stomach in pain.

"Aunt Ayesha, are you okay?" Lyra, her five-year-old niece, asked anxiously.

Ayesha turned to her, offering a shaky smile. She nodded slightly, although her body continued to tremble.

"I'm fine, dear," she said, pulling the girl into a hug.

"I already lost Father…" Lyra whispered, "I'm scared I'll lose you too."

Ayesha's heart shattered. It had only been a week since Levi, her brother and Lyra's father, was killed. Ronan explained to her what happened. 'Your brother died protecting our borders. The Alpha King accused him of leaking information to rogues. Levi tried to defend himself, but Alpha King Alaric didn't listen. He killed him. Just like that.'

"It's okay," she whispered into Lyra's hair. "I'm not going anywhere. I promise."

But suddenly, her stomach clenched, and she rushed to the sink, vomiting intensely. Her chest heaved, cold sweat covered her skin, and her mouth burned with the sour taste of acid.

This wasn't just heartbreak; it was something else. She shakily pressed her hand to her stomach, and then it hit her.

"No," she whispered, trembling. She might be carrying Ronan's child…
