As the portal stabilized, Kuchiki Ginrei and his subordinates emerged one by one. Almost immediately, Ginrei sensed the clash of two immense Reiatsu, locked in an intense standoff that showed no sign of yielding.
Observing the battlefield, his gaze fell upon the numerous corpses lying behind Aaron. Realization dawned upon him.
"Captain, what's going on here?" a subordinate whispered hesitantly.
"Hold your position and prepare for battle!" Ginrei ordered sharply, his words heightening the already tense atmosphere.
At that moment, the two figures locked in confrontation finally made their move.
The clash of their Zanpakutō reverberated, and their formidable Reiatsu twisted and collided like turbulent waves.
Initially, the observers could still follow the movements of the combatants. But as the duel intensified, the two became little more than blurs, their speed and power defying comprehension.
Murmurs rippled through the gathered Shinigami:
"As expected of Captain Yamamoto! Such Reiatsu and speed defy all reason!"
"One misstep, and the prodigy from five centuries ago will surely fall today..."
"The dignity of the Soul Society is unassailable. This is the unchanging law..."
"To think five centuries of effort would culminate in such a tragedy..."
Kuchiki Ginrei, overhearing the speculation, remained silent, his thoughts conflicted. Had he not recently returned from Hueco Mundo with crucial intelligence, he too might have believed Aaron stood no chance against Yamamoto. But now, with the evidence fresh in his mind, a bold, almost impossible theory took shape within him—a theory he struggled to accept.
Urahara Kisuke, observing the distant duel with a faint smile, quietly turned and departed.
On the battlefield, fiery arcs of flame and the sharp crack of air being cleaved filled the sky. The combatants collided over and over, their Zanpakutō ringing out in a deadly rhythm, neither yielding an inch.
Unohana Retsu watched intently, her expression shifting from calm observation to genuine astonishment. "To think their power has reached such heights... The title of Kenpachi pales in comparison to what they've become," she murmured, a sense of loss creeping into her voice.
After what seemed an eternity, the two combatants returned to their original positions, facing each other once more.
Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni, his expression calm but his eyes blazing, gripped Ryūjin Jakka with both hands. "To force me to release my Shikai... You've proven yourself capable. But you're still too young to stand against me," he declared gravely.
Aaron stood not far away, his white battle armor shattered, and his Shihakushō reduced to tatters. His skin glowed faintly red, and small flames flickered at the edges of his sleeves. Calmly extinguishing the lingering flames with his Reiatsu, Aaron met Yamamoto's gaze, a faint smirk playing on his lips, though he remained silent.
Yamamoto's hair, previously tied back, had come loose, cascading like a wild mane. He silently retied it before turning his piercing gaze toward the assembled captains and seated officers.
"Where are the representatives of the Five Great Noble Clans?" he demanded.
Ginrei and other noble representatives stepped forward and bowed. Yamamoto scanned the group before speaking. "Central 46 is gone. Slain to the last. I will not dictate the resolution of today's events. That power lies with you now. Reflect carefully before you act."
His voice grew even graver. "The Five Noble Clans shall oversee the election of new members to Central 46. Chōjirō, prepare my return to the First Division."
Though his words left no room for argument, those present could not mistake Yamamoto's intent to distance himself from this political quagmire. All bowed and replied in unison, "As you command, Captain-Commander!"
As Yamamoto turned to leave, Ginrei hurried to intercept him. "Captain-Commander! I have vital information to report—something connected to Aaron."
Yamamoto paused, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Speak."
Ginrei took a deep breath and glanced at Aaron before addressing the gathered captains. "Following your orders, my squad conducted a thorough investigation of Hueco Mundo. The results are conclusive: less than 10% of Hueco Mundo's Hollow population remains, including the Menos Forest. Gillians, Adjuchas, and Vasto Lorde are virtually extinct."
The revelation sent shockwaves through the crowd.
"Only 10%? Impossible!"
"Could the Quincy have done this?"
"Ridiculous! The Quincy were nearly exterminated five centuries ago!"
"Perhaps the King of Hollows devoured its kin to ascend further?"
Yamamoto's sharp voice cut through the murmurs. "Continue."
Ginrei nodded. "Over the past five centuries, Aaron has single-handedly purged Hueco Mundo. The Hollow population has dwindled to the point that the balance of souls no longer requires intervention there. From now on, purification efforts need only focus on the human world."
The crowd erupted again, but Yamamoto silenced them with a raised hand. He nodded at Ginrei. "A significant discovery. The Five Noble Clans shall deliberate and decide the appropriate course of action."
As Yamamoto departed, tension lingered in the air. The members of the disgraced Tsunayashiro Clan glared daggers at Aaron, but he ignored them, walking steadily toward the remaining noble families.
Thus ended the once-dominant Tsunayashiro Clan's influence, their downfall forever tied to the massacre of Central 46.
In the aftermath, the Five Noble Clans, now led by the Kuchiki, consulted Aaron and ultimately sent him to the Spiritual Arts Academy to oversee its next generation of Shinigami.
The bloody events of that day would go down in history, though Aaron's decision to return to the academy hinted at motives yet to unfold…
