In an alley not far from Shin'ō Academy, Seinosuke walked slowly behind Ōetsu Nimaiya.
When the two reached the middle of the alley, Nimaiya suddenly turned in the direction they had come from, making Seinosuke nervous.
For him, the seemingly carefree man in front of him always gave off an unfathomable aura.
Seeing the Zanpakutō in Nimaiya's hands, Seinosuke recalled something from the past.
At that moment, Nimaiya suddenly spoke loudly to the empty alley: "The Phoenix Palace hasn't had a guest in a long time."
This strange behavior puzzled Seinosuke.
At that moment, Aaron's figure slowly appeared not far away.
"Teacher!" Seinosuke called out excitedly.
Aaron walked into the alley, lightly patted Seinosuke's shoulder, and said with a smile, "I didn't expect you to be taken in for questioning."
Nimaiya looked at Aaron seriously, cutting him off. "You owe me a favor this time."
"Master Sword God is quite serious today," Aaron replied with a grin.
As a junior, Seinosuke naturally didn't understand their exchange and could only watch silently.
Nimaiya, supporting his forehead, shrugged helplessly and said, "Hey! How did you figure it out? By the way, was my acting that bad? But yes, you do owe me a favor."
At that moment, both Aaron and Nimaiya turned to the silent Seinosuke.
Seinosuke smiled awkwardly at them, finally understanding their meaning. He scratched his head in embarrassment and said, "Thanks to this gentleman today, I might have ended up in an underground prison otherwise."
After exchanging pleasantries, Nimaiya summoned a portal, and the three of them disappeared from the alley.
First Division Meeting Room
The captains stood on either side of Yamamoto Genryūsai, maintaining a tense silence.
They had just received troubling news.
The entire Tsunayashiro family, one of the Four Noble Houses, had been massacred, leaving only their leader, Tsunayashiro Tokinada, alive.
After some discussion, the primary suspect was identified as Aaron.
Once Yamamoto adjourned the meeting, the captains left for their respective barracks.
"Ken-chan! Hurry up! People have been waiting for you forever!" Kusajishi Yachiru called out loudly as Zaraki Kenpachi approached.
As Aizen Sōsuke passed by, he smirked and said, "Vice-Captain Kusajishi seems as lively as ever."
Zaraki scoffed in response. To him, someone like Aizen, who spent his time writing calligraphy, could never understand the thrill of battle.
Aizen, unfazed by Zaraki's attitude, maintained his composed smile and said, "Captain Zaraki, be careful. The situation has been quite chaotic lately. I must return to my division to handle affairs, so I'll take my leave."
At that moment, Yachiru, perched on Zaraki's shoulder, pointed toward the Royal Guard's domain.
Meanwhile, Nimaiya led Aaron and Seinosuke to the Phoenix Palace, where he had a subordinate arrange accommodations.
After dining together, they gathered in the living room.
Following some discussion, Nimaiya gained a rough understanding of recent events.
Turning to Aaron, he asked, "You claim to have killed Tsunayashiro Tokinada, which I do not doubt. However, I recall that the Tsunayashiro family possesses a unique Zanpakutō, 'Nine Heavens Mirror Valley.'
While all sealed states were originally created by me, sometimes there are special cases.
When the first Tsunayashiro patriarch awakened that Zanpakutō, it gained the power to be inherited.
Only someone of Tsunayashiro bloodline should be able to wield it.
As for its specific abilities, I am unsure. Only the Monk of the Royal Guard would know.
But I am curious—what happened to that Zanpakutō after you killed him?"
Aaron smirked and said, "My glutton devoured the Nine Heavens Mirror Valley."
"Hahahaha! You're joking again!" Nimaiya laughed.
At that moment, a figure appeared outside the meeting room.
It was Unohana Retsu.
She entered with a gentle smile, bowing slightly to Nimaiya. "Master Sword God, pardon the intrusion."
"Captain Unohana!" Seinosuke exclaimed excitedly upon seeing her.
Aaron was surprised but smiled and acknowledged her presence with a nod.
"Unohana, what brings you here today? Isn't Hitsugaya handling matters?" Nimaiya asked curiously.
Unohana maintained her smile but then turned her gaze toward Aaron. The smile slowly faded, replaced by a serious expression.
Seeing this, a glimmer of realization flashed in Nimaiya's eyes.
He rose and patted Seinosuke on the shoulder. "Come on, kid. Let's go somewhere else."
Seinosuke, seemingly understanding something, bowed to both Aaron and Unohana before leaving with Nimaiya.
"Is the Tsunayashiro clan leader dead?" Unohana asked, slightly furrowing her brow.
"Yes," Aaron responded softly.
Unohana shook her head. "Although it may not concern you, the entire Tsunayashiro incident is now being pinned on you.
Are you not concerned about being misunderstood?"
Aaron stood up and approached her, silently observing her expression.
As their eyes met, a faint blush appeared on Unohana's usually composed face.
"Thank you, Captain Unohana," Aaron said softly after a long silence.
"Oh…" Unohana sighed lightly, regaining her usual demeanor.
In the blink of an eye, night had fallen.
Aaron watched as Unohana's figure disappeared under the moonlight, his gaze lingering in the distance.
Fifth Division Barracks
Hinamori Momo awoke suddenly, recalling the events of the previous day.
She never expected to have fallen asleep in the captain's office.
Just as she was about to apologize, she realized that Aizen was nowhere to be seen.
Panicking, she rushed outside.
Still thinking about how to properly thank him, she stumbled upon a scene she could hardly believe.
Hinamori Momo stared at the towering wall in front of her, her entire body trembling.
Then, a heart-wrenching cry echoed over the Fifth Division headquarters.
"Captain Aizen!"
