Blue Lock: Isagi the egoist

Chapter 41: The Final Top 23

The atmosphere in the Blue Lock arena was tense—a silence heavy with unspoken battles and unrealized dreams. The vast hall, once filled with the voices of hundreds of strikers, now stood with only 23.

Every face left in the building was a testament to survival—only the elite remained.

Ego Jinpachi's voice crackled through the speaker system—calm, mechanical, and merciless as ever.

"Congratulations. You stand here as the Top 23 of Blue Lock—the absolute upper echelon of strikers in this project."

But the announcement wasn't over—

Ego's voice sliced through the tension:

"To reward the absolute Number One, a door to the highest stage has opened—"

"The top player of this Neo-Egoist League will be granted a place at Re Ál Madrid, the greatest club in the world."

The room erupted into murmurs and gasps—

Re Ál Madrid. The ultimate proving ground. The crown jewel of world football.

A slow, sharp grin carved across Isagi Yoichi's face.

💭 Re Ál Madrid, huh?

His heart raced—but not with surprise. With satisfaction.

💭 So, Dark… You've been watching, haven't you?

Because Isagi wasn't new to Re Ál.

He'd already been there. He had fought alongside pros in Spain—tasted their strength, their mentality.

But then—why did they send him back to Japan?

Isagi's eyes narrowed. The answer was clear—

💭 Ray Dark… That insane bastard.

Ray Dark—the ruthless manager of PIFA and a shadowy hand behind Re Ál's talent scouting.

Isagi knew his style: Break a player down, then forge them into something unstoppable.

So that's why—after the U-20 match—no recall, no contract.

Dark wanted him to suffer, grow, and emerge as a true monster.

🧩 But... Why Not Sae?

Then a flicker of confusion crossed Isagi's mind.

Wait… Sae's also signed with Re Ál, isn't he?

But no—Ego's words were clear. Sae wasn't going.

He glanced over at Itoshi Sae.

Sae's lips pressed into a thin line, his sharp eyes burning with something unfamiliar—resentment… and something more.

Sae should be furious… But he's not.

And then it clicked—

💡 Because Sae wants something more.

Not the midfield. Not the playmaker's throne—

He wants to become a Striker.

Sae's fists clenched.

Re Ál… chose Yoichi. Not me.

But the anger that flared in his chest wasn't just jealousy—it was clarity.

Isagi was chosen because—

He has something I don't. The Ego. The hunger to devour the world whole.

And for the first time in years, the path Sae had buried deep inside his heart…

🔥 Reawakened.

The ceremony ended, and the players began to disperse. But—

A sudden flurry of footsteps—

"I-Isagi-kun!"

Isagi turned—Anri Teieri.

Her cheeks flushed, eyes sparkling with pride and something else—

"You're going to Spain! I—" She paused, flustered, searching for words.

Isagi smirked.

 "Thanks for everything, Anri."

Then, without warning—

💋 A soft kiss on her cheek.

Anri froze, face going crimson—"Wha—!?"

Before she could recover, her phone buzzed.

A new contact saved: Yoichi 😉

"Keep in touch. I'll make you proud." Isagi said with a grin.

As he turned to leave, he glanced back—

 "By the way, Anri—"

 "You're cute when you blush."

Anri's voice squeaked—"Wha—wha—"

At the airport, Isagi stood tall.

The sun dipped below the horizon, and he could almost smell the Spanish grass again.

I'm coming back, Re Ál.

But this time, I'm not an academy upstart.

I'm the one you'll build your kingdom around.

As Isagi's flight took off—

Sae stood, watching the sky.

His jaw tight with frustration, his heart pounding with fire—

Enjoy your head start, Yoichi.

Because next time… I'll take everything.

Thank you, Isagi Yoichi, for rekindling my Flame as a Striker, I shall use this to surpass you.
