Blue Lock: Isagi the egoist

Chapter 42: A Grand Reunion, Re Al the monster-squad

Stepping off the plane, Isagi took a deep breath. The warm Spanish air filled his lungs, tinged with the familiar scent of the Re Ál Madrid training grounds nearby.

I'm back.

But this time, it was different. He wasn't just a trialist, a guest, or a player thrown in to gain experience.

He was here as a fully contracted pro.

A car awaited him just outside the airport, the tinted windows rolling down to reveal the very man who had orchestrated his journey here—Ray Dark.

A tall, gaunt man in a sleek black suit, Dark exuded an almost menacing aura. His cold, calculating eyes met Isagi's, scanning him like a predator assessing his prey.

"Welcome home, Yoichi."

Isagi smirked, stepping into the car.

"Took you long enough."

Dark chuckled, an eerie sound that sent a shiver down even the toughest players' spines. But Isagi wasn't just any player.

As the car glided through Madrid's streets, Dark leaned back, eyes glinting with something unreadable.

"You're officially a full-time member of Re Ál Madrid. No more trials, no more 'temporary placements.' You'll play with the main squad—live, breathe, and fight as one of the Galácticos."

Isagi felt his heart pound.

This wasn't just a dream. It was real.

"You'll be playing alongside Leonardo Luna."

A familiar name. His old rival.

Luna had always been a genius—but that wasn't the most shocking part.

"And soon, you'll have even more familiar faces."

Dark's smirk widened.

"We're making moves to sign them."

"The World Five."

Isagi's breath caught for just a second.

No way…

Dark listed them off like a shopping list—

Pablo Cabasos – The midfield magician.

Adam Blake – The defensive titan.

Leonardo Luna – His old rival and playmaker.

Dada Silva – The relentless powerhouse.

Loki was exempt as he was deadset on not playing with Isagi and liked it in France.

If Re Ál Madrid actually secured all of them, they wouldn't just be unstoppable in La Liga—they'd dominate world football.

Isagi could barely contain his excitement.

With a team like that… we'll never lose.

Re Ál Madrid didn't hold back when it came to their players. His new house—though temporary—was a lavish, modern mansion with everything he could ever need.

As he explored his new home, he thought about the U-20 World Cup.

I'm only here for now… but once the World Cup is over?

This will be my kingdom.

His reign was only just beginning.

The next morning, Isagi stepped onto the sacred grass of the Re Ál Madrid training facility.

The second he entered, a voice called out—

"Oi, bastard! Took you long enough to get back here."

Turning, he met the familiar smirk of Leonardo Luna.

Luna approached, hands in his pockets, eyes sharp.

"Heard the news. You're officially part of the team now."

"Of course I am." Isagi grinned.

Luna laughed.

"Then let's see if you got better, Señor Egoista."

⚔ Challenge 1 – Penalty Shootout

Five shots each. No second chances.

Isagi stared down the keeper, his eyes sharpening.

First shot—goal.Second shot—goal.Third shot—goal.Fourth shot—goal.Fifth shot—goal.

Luna hit four out of five. Isagi had a perfect record.

⚔ Challenge 2 – Freekicks

From the edge of the box, then from distance.

Isagi's shots were insane. He had refined his Two-Gun Volley and his unpredictable shooting techniques to the point where Luna couldn't even believe his eyes.

Luna? He was good. But he wasn't Isagi-level good.

"Damn it... what the hell did you eat in Japan?" Luna muttered.

"Just pure determination," Isagi smirked.

⚔ Challenge 3 – 1v1s

This was where Luna shined the most. A genius playmaker with silky dribbling—he could destroy almost anyone in a 1v1.

But Isagi wasn't just anyone.

He shut Luna down again and again.

Isagi's Omnivision and Meta-Predator Eye were too much. He read every movement before it even happened.

Luna finally collapsed onto the grass, panting.

"Yeah… you're a monster now."

Isagi only grinned.

Just as the duel ended, two more figures entered the field.

One—Pablo Cabasos, the maestro of midfield. The other—Dada Silva, the unrelenting striker.

"Isagi, amigo! Fancy meeting you here!" Cabasos grinned.

"Tch… just don't get in my way, just keep in mind that Defense is my Domain." Dada huffed with no real heat or bite behind his words.

Reuniting with these two felt right.

This was going to be the deadliest team on the planet.

But the celebrations didn't last.

The coach blew his whistle.

"Enough chatting! Time to train!"

And so began the most intense training session Isagi had ever experienced.

The drills were brutal. The intensity was suffocating. Players collapsed one by one, their bodies pushed to the limit.

But Isagi?

He thrived.

His stamina was almost inhuman.

While others gasped for breath, he was already preparing for the next drill.

This is nothing.

This was where he belonged.

And soon, the entire football world would know it.

As the sun set over Madrid, Isagi stood at the edge of the field, looking over the stadium.

This was only the beginning.

The U-20 World Cup is next.

Then?

I'll take over the world.

He clenched his fist.

Re Ál Madrid had found their next king.

And his reign was about to begin.
