Born In Ashes: The Enigma

Chapter 17: Despair Level Token

Knock! Knock!

"Young Lord, the training room is ready."

The sound of knocking, followed by Lia's voice, pulled Azrael out of his thoughts.

Without replying, he stood up from the bed and walked out of his room.

As he stepped into the hallway, he saw Lia standing outside with a set of training clothes in her hands.

"Thanks, Lia," Azrael said as he took the clothes from her and nodded in appreciation.

Lia bowed slightly and spoke calmly, "You have lost some weight after that incident. Although these training clothes adjust themselves according to the user's build, please let me know if you feel uncomfortable in them."

Azrael nodded at her words but didn't try the clothes on right there. "Let's go to the training room."

Lia nodded in response and followed after Azrael, who walked ahead with a thoughtful expression on his face.

"Have you brought the thing I asked for?" He asked as they walked down the stairs.

"Yes…" Lia nodded, but after a slight hesitation, she added, "Young Lord, are you sure you want to learn it? You should know that this won't be of much help to you since you are still unawakened. You will only be wasting your time by trying to learn this skill now."

"It's better than doing nothing…" Azrael replied nonchalantly. "I can't train my body for the next few days because I am still feeling weak. Although training in this skill won't help the current me much, it will only benefit me once I awaken next year."

Lia thought about what Azrael said and nodded in agreement.

Upon reaching the ground floor, Azrael walked confidently toward the training area, already familiar with the path since he had visited it earlier with Kael.

The training room was actually located underground, and soon Azrael and Lia arrived at a nearly three meter high, grey colored door.

Without waiting for instructions, Lia stepped forward and inserted a square shape card into a slot located beside the door.

As the card slid in, a low rumbling sound echoed, and the door slowly lifted upward.

The moment it opened, a gust of cosmic energy burst out from the room.

Azrael raised an eyebrow in surprise as he felt the overwhelming presence of cosmic energy rushing outward.

'Although Kael already told me about it, it's still surprising. Once it reaches a certain density, I can actually see the cosmic energy with my eyes.'

Azrael stepped inside and discovered that the training room was massive— nearly the size of three football fields.

It was divided into several sections, including a skill training area, gravity rooms, a cultivation area, and more.

'I really can't use Earth's common sense in this world…' Azrael thought inwardly, looking at the massive and unusual space in front of him, created using space folding technology.

Using his smart band last night, he had gathered a lot of information about this world— both general and specific.

He was currently on a planet called Veltharia, located in the Aetherion Expanse— a massive galaxy nearly five times the size of the Milky Way.

Within the Aetherion Expanse, three hundred and fourteen planets were inhabited by humans, and Veltharia was one of the most prosperous and advance planet—not just in the Aetherion Expanse, but in the entire Human Federation.

From Lia, he had also learned that his parents were currently away from the Aetherion Expanse on business and will return in two or three days.

While browsing the internet the previous night, he found some basic information about his family as well.

Since they lived on Veltharia—one of the most advanced planets in the Federation—it was clear that his family held a high status among humanity.

Though he didn't uncover too many details, he did learn that the Thorne Family was the largest manufacturer of props, relics, and various essential items needed by awakened humans.

'I just hope there is nothing wrong with those two people in this world… Otherwise, with my current pitiful strength, dealing with them would be impossible.' Azrael shook his head to clear his thoughts and made his way toward the changing room.

The training clothes Lia had brought were also made by the Thorne Family and were among the best available.

The moment Azrael put them on, he immediately felt the flow of cosmic energy in his body becoming smoother. Not only that—he realized that with a single thought, he could seal his cosmic energy, allowing him to train his physical body without interference.

There were many other functions embedded in the clothes, but for now, the ability to control his cosmic energy was more than enough.

"From what I saw on the Internet, the main function of these training clothes is to assist during sparring sessions where injuries are likely if something goes wrong. But to spar with my current body when I am still trying to absorb the energy of cosmic energy affinity pill…" Azrael shook his head and exited the changing room.

Once out, he walked over to Lia, who asked if everything was alright with the training clothes.

After assuring her that everything was fine, Azrael stretched out his hand.

Seeing this, Lia said nothing. She reached into her pocket and retrieved a small, blue-colored, diamond-shaped crystal.

Azrael's eyes lit up when he saw the crystal, and he took it from her without hesitation.

'It's a bit different from the one I saw on the Internet last night…' He thought, and as he focused on the crystal, its information flashed before his eyes.
