Break The Silence

Chapter 30: Chapter 30

Kyungmi stepped out of the car and looked at the hospital building. The chaos from last night had finally settled, but the place still looked like a storm had swept through it.

After the short circuit, the hospital lost power, and now workers were busy fixing everything.

Inside, most of the patients were out of control. Deep guilt washed over her, but for a moment, Kyungmi felt petrified of Jisun, as the memories from the last night flooded back in her mind.

Taking the hesitant steps, Kyungmi approached Dr. Lee's office. She gently knocked on it, and stepped inside. "Good morning, Dr. Lee." She greeted.

Dr. Lee stood by the window, gazing at the outside view. "It's not a good morning for all of us." He said, turning back to look at her.

Kyungmi observed the deep regret on his wrinkled face, she could see that something shocked the old man. "I know, and I'm sorry whatever happened last night, but we needed to take Jimin out of this hospital." She said in an apologetic tone. "I know you're not going to believe even if I reveal anything about whatever happened in Jimin's room last night, but I'm confident that we made a right choice." Kyungmi continued, without hesitating.

Dr. Lee listened her patiently, then he exhaled a cold sigh, as with heavy steps he grabbed his chair and settled himself. "I know, whatever happened last night." He said in a low tone.

Kyungmi froze, her breath catching in her throat. Her eyes widened in disbelief as Dr. Lee's words sank in.

"You... you know?" Kyungmi stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. She felt a chill run down her spine, a mixture of shock and fear tightening her chest.

Her mind raced with questions. How could he know? Did someone tell him? Was he there? She struggled to steady her voice. "But... how? Who told you?" she stopped herself, unsure of what to say next.

Dr. Lee's calm yet somber expression only deepened her unease. "I saw the CCTV potage of his room." He revealed. "The saddest part is, it took me eleven years to understand that Jimin wasn't diagnosing from any psychological disorder but Jisun was haunting him." He said, his voice cracked through the guilt, he felt for Jimin.

Kyungmi took few steps closer to the table, her face contorted with sorrow, but deep down a part of her felt satisfied. Although it took eleven years, but now the truth had began to reveal, Jimin was now free from the prison and secured under Taehyung's authority.

"It's unlucky that even Jimin's parents refused to understand him, and abandoned him in the hospital, but I'm glad that he got Taehyung." Kyungmi said, her expression defining her pain.

"Therefore I decided to give Jimin's authority to Taehyung." Dr. Lee revealed. He pulled the drawer and took the authority papers out, which he had signed earlier in the morning. "I can't changed the past, but this is the only favor I can do for Jimin." He said, extending the papers towards her.

Kyungmi's face lightened up with joy, she quickly checked the signed papers and carved a little smile. "Thank you so much, you don't know how a big favour you did to us." She expressed her gratitude.

Suddenly, Kyungmi grew concern about the consequences. "What about the management?" She asked worriedly.

"They don't care about Jimin, I tried to talk to them about Jimin twice or more, but they showed no interest, and if anything happens in the future then I'll take the complete responsibility." Dr. Lee replied.

"I'm so grateful for you Dr. Lee." Kyungmi greeted once again. "I'm sure Taehyung would feel same." She said.

Dr. Lee smiled. "Tell him, not to leave this hospital, we need doctors like him. " He said. "And of course, you as well. "

Kyungmi softly chuckled, she bowed Dr. Lee, "I'll pass your message."

Kyungmi settled into the driver's seat, her hands gripping the steering wheel as she let out a deep sigh. The weight of Jisun's fear still lingered, but there was a flicker of relief in her chest. She joyfully glanced at the authority papers resting on the passenger seat. A faint smile curved her lips.

Pulling out of the hospital parking lot, Kyungmi moved the car through the quiet streets, heading toward the café where she planned to meet Min Yoongi, the priest. The morning sun pierced through the clouds, casting a warm glow on the frosty roads. She tapped her phone's hands-free button and dialed Taehyung's number.

"Kyungmi?" Taehyung answered in a curious tone.

"Taehyung," she began, her tone filled with a mix of urgency and excitement, "I just met Dr. Lee. He signed the authority papers for Jimin. You're now officially responsible for Jimin.." She told.

Taehyung paused for moment, pondering over the news he just heard. He never assumed that the authority issue could be resolved without having any trouble. Kyungmi could almost picture the surprise on Taehyung's face.

"He... gave me full authority over Jimin?" Taehyung finally asked, his voice low, as though he was still processing the news.

"Yes," Kyungmi confirmed, her voice steady. "Dr. Lee said it's the least he could do for Jimin after everything that's happened. He even promised to take responsibility if the management raises any issues."

Taehyung exhaled slowly. "That's... incredible news. I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything," Kyungmi replied with a small laugh. "Just make sure you take care of Jimin, and, oh, Dr. Lee asked me to tell you something. He doesn't want you to leave the hospital. He says they need doctors like you."

Taehyung chuckled lightly. "I'll have to thank him personally. And Kyungmi… thank you. I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without you."

Her cheeks warmed at his gratitude, but she kept her tone light. "Save the thanks for later, I'll be at home in evening." She said.
