Break The Silence

Chapter 33: Chapter 33

Jimin sat on a chair, his hands tied with it's arm. His heart thumped against his chest, each beat echoed wildly in his ears. Fear washed over him, he looked at his surroundings, a dark basement room, filled with lit up candles. He felt something sinister, as a strange woman appeared in front him. She had long hair, dark as midnight, she wore a black dress her big doe eyes fixed at him.

*"It's time for the ritual." The woman said in her heavy voice.*

Jimin woke up with a long gasp, he quickly sat upon the bed and patted his chest. Sweat prickled down to his forehead, as the memories of his nightmare flooded in his mind. It was something that he had never seen before.

"Should I tell Taehyung everything?" He asked himself, although Jimin didn't remember what exactly happened that night, but he always was assured that he didn't killed Jisun. He didn't know why this certain thought stick to his mind, but he remembered the days when he had moved into a new home, and he would tell his doll same thing over and over again.

*"They thought I killed Jisun, but you know I didn't."*

Those words always lingered Jimin's mind, never leaving him alone, even when he was locked in the hospital. As Jimin sat on the bed and tried to control his fear, he recalled the days when Jisun first had began to haunt him. He had tried to explain everything to Mr. And Mrs. Park, but they never believe on him, instead, they abandoned him in a mental hospital.

"What if Taehyung leave him too?" The thought Petrified him.

Jimin kept telling himself that Taehyung was different. He believed that, no matter what, Taehyung would never leave him. But still, a part of him was afraid of being abandoned again.

He slipped off the bed, his head still aching from the injury. But for the first time in a long while, he didn't hear any voices in his head. His mind felt clear, not clouded like before.

With slow and hesitant steps, Jimin approached the tall mirror placed in the corner of his room. He glanced at his reflection, and realized that he hadn't seen himself since last eleven years. He grew up a lot, his once healthy skin now became pale and he looked exhausted, dark circles under his eyes and weak body. His heart drowned into the darkness and his face turned solemn.

Jimin let out a heavy sigh, another agonizing memory flooded his mind, and he pulled off his shirt. When he turned around, the scars on his back came into view, marks left behind by Mr. Park.

As far as Jimin remembered, the entire Park family was weird. He always tried to make them satisfy, but everytime, Jimin ended making them angry. He remembered when he would make mistake, how brutally Mr. Park would beat him leaving eternal wounds on his back. How Mrs. Park would take her anger out on him. And Jisun, despite being young, he wasn't just physically stronger than Jimin, but also a crazy jerk, who never missed a chance to hurt him.

Jimin remembered everything in detail, all the abusive behavior he endured, all the harsh treatment he witnessed at young age, then why he couldn't remember what happened that night?. It was a question that began to bother him now.

"Maybe discussing with Taehyung would help me." Jimin decided to talk, to put all his thoughts into the words.

Taehyung and Kyungmi sat together in the dining area, sharing breakfast and light conversation. Jimin watched them from a distance, observing how easily they laughed and talked. There was something about Kyungmi that made Jimin feel at ease, perhaps it was her warm smile or the way Taehyung seemed genuinely happy around her.

At first, Jimin felt unsure about her, but over time, he began to notice her kind nature. She wasn't just Taehyung's friend, she was someone who brought a sense of calm to their usually tense surroundings.

Seeing how much Taehyung trusted her, Jimin decided to let his guard down. If Taehyung liked her, maybe it was okay for him to do the same. For the first time in a while, he allowed himself to relax in her presence, feeling a small spark of hope that things could feel normal again.

"Oh Jimin...Good morning." Kyungmi greeted.

"Good morning." Jimin replied in a gentle tone.

Taehyung looked back at him, his eyes brighten up at Jimin's quick reaction. It's been few days but Jimin had shown immediate progress, that was a good sign. Taehyung gestured towards the seat with his hands, "Come and have breakfast." He said.

Jimin retrieved to the dining table and sat besides Taehyung. He stared at the bowl of warm kimchi stew Taehyung had placed in front of him. His hands hovered awkwardly over the chopsticks resting on the table. Jimin tried to remember how to use them, but his mind drew a blank. His fingers trembled slightly as he picked them up, and he glanced at Taehyung nervously, unsure of what to do.

Taehyung noticed Jimin's hesitation and smiled softly. Without a word, he reached over and gently took the chopsticks from Jimin's hands. "Here, let me show you," Taehyung said, holding the chopsticks skillfully between his fingers. "It's like this."

He guided Jimin's hand, adjusting his grip and showing him how to hold them properly. "See? You just move the top one like this," Taehyung said, demonstrating a smooth motion. His tone was patient and kind, making Jimin feel at ease.

Jimin nodded slowly, trying to mimic the movement. He managed to pick up a small piece of tofu, though it wobbled unsteadily between the chopsticks. Taehyung chuckled softly. "You're getting it. Just keep practicing."

Jimin slightly moved the corner of his lips upwards in to faint smile, as he began to eat. For the first time in a while, Jimin felt a small sense of accomplishment. Taehyung's encouragement made the moment feel lighter, and Jimin gave him a shy smile before trying again.

"You'll learn everything within the time." Kyungmi interrupted, she paused for a moment, making sure she didn't pissed Jimin off.

Jimin looked at her, he nodded in agreement. "I'll try my best." He said.

Taehyung and Kyungmi shared a cheerful glance, she could observed the joy on Taehyung's face. For next few seconds they ate in silence, and suddenly Jimin spoke that surprised both, Kyungmi and Taehyung.

"I think I'm ready to talk about Jisun." Jimin said, he shifted his gaze at Taehyung who looked at him in utter bewilderment.
