Part-144
As he arrived at Dwip's apartment, he could see a light on. He knocked on the door, and a moment later, Dwip opened it. The boy looked tired but determined.
"Here," Dwip said, handing James a document. "This is what I found."
James took the document and scanned through it quickly. It contained a list of four phone numbers, along with some basic information about the owners.
"Where did you get this information?" James asked, impressed by Dwip's efficiency.
He said that because James had never given him this list of numbers.
"I have my ways," Dwip replied cryptically. "Just because you gave me those numbers doesn't mean I'll stop there. I finish what I start properly."
James knew better than to press for details. He thanked Dwip and promised to keep him updated on their progress.
As he walked home, James felt a surge of excitement.
James sat down at his desk, spreading out the document containing the new information. He began to analyze the data, looking for any patterns or connections. As he studied the list of phone numbers and their corresponding NID information, one name caught his eye: Joya Rahman.
A wave of surprise washed over him. He recognized the name immediately. It was the grandmother of Toya, the Old Lady he had helped rescue from the bullies at the market. A strange sense of déjà vu washed over him. Could there be a connection between the online scammers and the incident at the market? Nah, it was just a coincidence.
James pondered the implications of this discovery. On the one hand, he was excited about the potential breakthrough. On the other hand, he was apprehensive about approaching Toya's grandmother. His and Toya's relationship was strained, and he wasn't sure how she would react to him asking for help.
Despite his reservations, James knew he had to try. He couldn't ignore this potential lead. He would have to find a way to approach Toya's grandmother without causing any further tension between them.
As he sat there, lost in thought, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was on the brink of something big. The pieces were slowly coming together, and he was determined to solve this puzzle.
With renewed determination, James picked up his phone and dialed Ryan's number and added Sourov in conference mode. He needed to share this new information with his friends.
When Ryan answered the call, James wasted no time. "I found something interesting," he said, his voice brimming with excitement. "One of the phone numbers is registered to Joya Rahman, Toya's grandmother."
Ryan, surprised, asked, "Who are Toya and Joya?"
James quickly clarified, "Ah, Toya is the new girl in our classroom. You know, the new beauty everyone’s talking about."
Sourov, who was also listening in, exclaimed, "What! A new beauty? How come I didn’t know about this?"
James paused, momentarily unsure of how to respond to Sourov's enthusiasm. He decided to steer the conversation back to the main topic. "Anyway, about the investigation, I discovered that one of the NID cards belongs to Mrs. Joya Rahman, Toya's grandmother."
Ryan and Sourov were both surprised. "That's strange," Ryan said. "What could she have to do with this?"
"I don't know," James replied. "But I think we should talk to her. There might be a connection."
