Chapter 18: The Hidden base

The streets of San-Jamb City buzzed with neon lights and sirens, but the black van carrying Kelin and his squad moved like a shadow—silent, smooth, untouchable.

Inside, tension gripped the air like a noose.

"Bytefire," Kelin said over the comms, "Talk to me."

"Got something," Bytefire replied. "Drax just disappeared from the downtown cameras—but for a split second, he was seen entering an old abandoned refinery near Sector 13."

Kelin raised a brow. "Sector 13? That place is cursed."

"Exactly," Bytefire said. "No cameras. No police. No citizens. Only rumors—and Red Cult rumors are rarely false."

Kelin turned to Zade Kross, his expert driver.

"Change course. Sector 13. Don't stop for anything."

Zade grinned, yanked the wheel, and the tires screamed as the van drifted off the highway ramp into the shadows of the forbidden zone.

Meanwhile… At the Refinery

Commander Drax stood on the upper deck of the old oil plant, wearing a black trench coat lined with red cult markings.

Below him were two dozen Red Ballas, armed to the teeth.

He lit a cigar and spoke into his radio.

"The ghost boy's coming. Just like Kate said. Let him in… but make sure he doesn't leave."

In the corner of the refinery, a hidden room held a live camera feed—watching Celin, trapped in his new underground cell.

A countdown blinked on the screen:

19:23:45

As the van rolled into the ruined outskirts of Sector 13, the buildings changed—old, rusted, bullet-scarred.

"Place looks like a war zone," said Lazer Eyes, loading his sniper.

"Because it is," Kelin replied.

Bytefire's voice came through again:

"You're entering blind territory now. All cameras are down from here. You're on your own."

Zade parked the van quietly in a ditch, engine off.

"This is as close as we go without getting seen," he said.

"From here—it's feet, fire, and silence."

Kelin nodded and gave the signal.

Sniper: stay in the van.

Zade: engine hot, ready for escape.

Bytefire: standby for signal boost.

Kelin entered the refinery alone.

Inside the refinery, it was dead quiet.

Pipes hissed. Shadows moved.

Kelin stepped carefully, blade in hand.

Suddenly—CLANG!

A steel door slammed shut behind him.

Red emergency lights flared.

He was trapped.

From the catwalk above, Drax stepped out, clapping slowly.

"Kelin Felin. The Ghost of San Track himself. Brave, but stupid."

Dozens of Red Ballas soldiers emerged from the shadows, guns drawn.

Kelin looked around, breathing steady.

"You want to talk, or bleed?"

Drax laughed.

"You've got five minutes to run before I send your brother's last breath through the comm system."

Kelin grinned.

"I wasn't planning to run."

Outside – Lazer Eyes Reacts

From the scope on his sniper rifle, Lazer Eyes spotted movement.

"They've got Kelin surrounded. Red coats. Heavy gear. He's boxed."

He clicked the mic.

"Bytefire! I need a way in—now!"

Back at HQ

Bytefire was sweating.

"Hold on! I'm hacking into the refinery's old systems... Got it!"

He slammed a button.

All the lights in the refinery went out.

Then:

Boom!

An old pipeline exploded, sending smoke everywhere.

Kelin Makes His Move

Using the chaos, Kelin vanished into the fog like a ghost.

He took down three Ballas silently with his blade, moving low and fast.

"You locked yourself in with the wrong man," he whispered.

He spotted Drax above and began climbing toward him.
