Chaos and Order - A Multiverse Fanfic

Chapter 485: The Steps of a Conqueror - Haki-Storm!!!

Nearly 400000 soldiers had gathered around the Cloudbreak Spire.

Kai had killed almost as many as this figure, but the soldiers' number kept replenishing over time, maintaining the balance between the Island X and the Apocalypse Alliance.

Among these gathered soldiers of the four armies, most were Troopers, their numbers settling at over 97% of the total.

Captain-level soldiers were at least ten thousand, but, surprisingly, there was no Commander.

All the surviving Commanders had fused to become Abominations, their strength lingering between a Commander and a General now.

In place of Generals, there were eight Super Abominations—fusion of General-ranked soldiers.

General Rayquaza, the first and last of its kind, had been a Mega Abomination.

None of the generals after him survived the hideous transformation.

Still, the Super Abominations were no less strong than General Rayquaza, their might lingering between the levels of a General and…

… The four Supreme Generals—their strength incomprehensible; their fusion—an impossibility.

Now Kai saw them all; like crickets lined up in the valley between him and the Cloudbreak Spire.

Tick-Tack-Tick!

The sound arrived in his ears, the march of a colossal army ringing in his ears like the song of bugs.

He walked toward them, eying the four Beings hovering above the Spire's top in the distance.

It was as if they found it diminutive to come at him together, using their full force.

Suit yourself, he would say to them, if they cared to listen.

Sounga appeared in his hand, the jewel glowing purple.

Step. Step.

Step.

With Kai's every step, the earth rumbled, rotten hands, heads, and figures crawling out.

The more he walked, the larger the Undead Army of the White Serpent Empire became, now matching the vast sight of the Apocalypse Alliance.

From one side, the sounds of war cry resonated, echoing far and wide.

From behind Kai, evil growled, reeking of death and destruction.

Kai looked at Cersei.

They were still holding hands, fingers entwined.

He could feel it, her blood pulsing under the layers of shadow suit and her skin. It was throbbing. Her heart must be pounding, he knew.

And yet, Kai felt nothing.

He smiled, anyway.

That much he could do.

The much he ought to do, right?

The earth beneath his feet suddenly picked up the rumble.

The Troopers and Captains were all charging him at once, their roar shaking the sky; and the sun, an orange-red globe just half an hour away from saying goodbye.

The survivors deserved this march, the honor of trying their blades, spells, and gazes at the White-haired Demon.

No one among them was weak.

Nor did they lack the courage to come at him so openly.

Let them. These brave men and women and creatures… were not enough to make him let go of Cersei's hand.

Hundreds of thousands of undead rushed past Kai.

For courage, they had nothing. For strength, they had everything.

A silent wind whispered in Kai's ears, his hair rising, falling, and stirring wildly.

Today is a good day to kill, the wind said. Today is as good a day as the one when you killed so many with the face of Ryan, slaughtering them in their sleep. No? Didn't you smile when you killed Greta, the girl from Death Eaters? Then why aren't you smiling now?

Kai wished and the wind left him alone, the corners of his lips arching up for the umpteenth time.

Another empty attempt.

Failed again.

The alliance's soldiers bloated the sky like dark clouds galloping toward him.

Then they broke in several flanks, bent on surrounding the three of them from all around.

The undead army broke to meet the flanks, their numbers less, but not less enough to not halt the charge.

"Cough!"

Kai suddenly coughed.

A trail of blood came seeping out from the corners of his mouth; its color black. Corrupt.

A tremor ran down Cersei's body, but she didn't dare to look at him or she would lose the strength.

Selene increased the Soul Chill's output once more, but even she couldn't go past 100% repeatedly.

Kai's pale skin gained a bluer tinge.

With a smile, he erased the mark of corruption, and his waning life force, off his face.

Step. Step.

Step.

Some cried. Some raged. Some growled like the beasts they were.

By the time Kai took the hundredth step, his Undead Army had all but dealt with.

Over a hundred thousand soldiers survived this madness and they had nothing but revenge in their bleeding eyes.

They shouted, the very world shouting along with them.

From all directions, they lunged at the couple, becoming dark clouds.

Then, the dark clouds became the descent of the darkest, moonless, and starless night as the soldiers fell.

It was as if they just wanted to squash Kai and Cersei under sheer weight.

Their eyes looked murderous and loathing enough to make them do something so crazy, at least.

They were packed together so tight that it was hard to tell where the Pokemon ended and where the man began.

The Wights, the blue-eyed undead, were pressed into the magical creatures from Death Eaters' camp, both growling inhumanely.

From above, groups of wizards and witches were falling toward him like kamikazes.

In the middle of all this, a white-robed old man walked hand-in-hand with stunning, shadowy beauty.

A ghost-like serpent kept slithering in and out of the old man, its hisses condescending.

A gust of wind tore its way through the gaps, rushed its way to Kai the fastest, and listed his white-grayish hair.

By the time they fell back, they were already glowing yellow.

Kai's brilliant, old but alive, hazel, reptilian pupils narrowed into thin needles, the aura of a Conqueror oozing out of his every pore.

Cra-ac-ckk-kkkkkkkkkk!!!

Step-Step.

Bolts of yellow lightning cracked, tearing the space apart.

A thunderous boom rang out.

With Kai as the center, a storm of lightning rippled out in all directions, instantly covering a distance of over a thousand metres.

The murderous and hateful eyes rolled back in their heads.

Those who didn't have eyes became still like petrified, lifeless beings.

And the undead began splitting apart, disintegrating into fine dust particles.

The Haki-storm rumbled past the worthless and kept going and going; far and farther.

The storm hit the Abominations first, their knees buckling; as they should in the presence of the Emperor.

It hit the Super Abominations, next.

Hearts shook and the corners of their eyes split apart, tears of blood streaming down their cheeks; as they should at the sight of Rain Slaughterer—the Purple Death.

The Haki-storm had all but faded when it reached the four Beings hovering at the top of Cloudbreak Spire, but it persisted.

A greeting is a must, it seemed to say, before the showdown.

Mewtwo's eyes shone blue and knocked it back.

Odd fellow, Kai remarked, bodies raining down around him like raindrops. So grumpy.
