Chapter 15: Ch.15 : Laughter and Pain
During lunch break, Nic headed to the club room. When he arrived, he found only Yui and Violet inside.
"Where's everyone else?" he asked as he dropped onto the sofa.
Yui answered without looking up from her painting. "They were here earlier, but got busy. Vivi and Leona went to basketball practice, and Nia said she's drowning in student council work."
Nic nodded, then glanced over at Yui's canvas. She was painting Violet, capturing her soft smile with striking detail.
"You're really talented, Yui. That painting's incredible," Nic said sincerely.
Yui blushed. "It's nothing special, really. But... thanks."
As the room fell into a calm silence, Nic suddenly felt bored and had a playful idea. "Hey, how about we play rock-paper-scissors, the three of us?"
Violet blinked. "Isn't that just for two people?"
Nic grinned mischievously. "Exactly. That's why we make our own rules. Like this..."
He laid out the rules:
1. If one person loses (like one rock vs. two papers), the loser gets punished by both winners.
2. If all three pick something different (rock, paper, scissors), everyone loses to one and wins against another—so everyone gets punished in turns.
They both agreed, curious to see how it would play out.
Round One
Nic: Scissors
Yui: Paper
Violet: Scissors
Yui gasped and covered her face in embarrassment. "Nic, please go easy on me..."
Nic chuckled. "Don't worry. Your punishment is simple. Kiss me on the cheek."
Still blushing, Yui leaned in and gave him a light kiss, her face turning crimson.
Violet giggled. "And for me... I'm drawing cat whiskers on your face!" she said gleefully.
Before Yui could protest, Violet already scribbled whiskers with a marker. "There! Even cuter," she declared.
Nic nodded. "Agreed. You're even more adorable now, Yui."
Round Two
Nic: Rock
Yui: Paper
Violet: Paper
Nic sighed. "Why does strong rock always lose?"
Yui smiled shyly. "My punishment is... I want to sit on your lap."
Nic laughed softly and welcomed her. "You're such a handful."
Then it was Violet's turn. "I want to... pull Nic's nose!"
She yanked it quickly, and Nic winced. "Oww!"
After a few more silly rounds, Nic excused himself to check on Vivi and Leona at the basketball court.
---
At the Basketball Court
Nic arrived and saw Vivi and Leona resting after their first round. He handed them each a bottle of juice—strawberry for Vivi, orange for Leona.
"Here you go."
Vivi and Leona beamed. "You're so thoughtful, Nic!" Vivi exclaimed, sipping her drink.
"So refreshing. Thanks, Nic," Leona added.
They leaned close to him, drawing attention from everyone on the court. Among the crowd was Jack, who had just returned to school after being sick. His jaw dropped.
"What the hell? Nic is close to Leona now too?!"
Seeing a chance to stir things up, Jack stormed over. His friends, well aware of the situation, stayed quiet, watching the storm brew.
Jack pointed at Nic. "Vivi, you should know better! Nic's not good for you! Look, he's flirting with Leona right in front of you!"
Leona tilted her head, then casually wrapped her arms around Nic. "Oops, Vivi~ I'm hugging your boyfriend. Don't be mad~" she said in a playfully cringey voice.
Not to be outdone, Vivi pouted. "Nic~ You're so mean, cheating on me in public. I'm sooo sad~"
Leona burst out laughing. "Hahaha! Vivi, that voice is awful!"
Vivi smirked. "Yours is worse."
Nic could only cover his face, trying not to laugh at his girlfriends' antics.
Meanwhile, Jack looked completely lost. "What... is even happening?"
Vivi turned to him calmly. "Jack, don't bother us. Leona's also Nic's girlfriend. We both are."
Jack's mouth dropped open. He was speechless. How can a loser like Nic attract girls like this?
Watching Jack freeze in place, Nic smiled and guided the girls back to the bench to enjoy their break. The drama had ended with Nic as the clear winner.

Later that day, Nic was helping Nia carry a stack of books from the library to the student council room. Everything felt normal—until a woman suddenly sprinted past and crashed into Nia. The books nearly fell, but Nic dropped his own stack and caught her just in time.
"Close one," he muttered, steadying her.
Just then, his phone buzzed with a new notification:
"A compatible new girlfriend candidate has been detected."
Nic stared at the screen, puzzled. Before he could say anything, Nia urged him, "Go after her. I'll get someone else to help with these."
Nodding, Nic took off, tracking the moving dot on his screen. After several minutes, he arrived at a rarely used storage room behind the school.
As he got closer, strange sounds came from inside—soft moans, almost... lustful.
"What... is going on?" Nic whispered, confused.
He hesitated, then asked the system, "Why would I date this girl? What would I gain?"
The system replied: "If you make her your girlfriend, you'll receive the Lust Skill."
Nic frowned. "Lust? Isn't that just about... perversion?"
The system clarified: "Lust is not limited to desire. High Lust increases any form of craving—hunger, ambition, drive. It can influence others' urges, or boost your own—combat drive, appetite, desire to act. It's powerful in certain contexts."
Nic nodded. "Got it... But this girl?"
Just as he reached for the door, another alert popped up:
"Someone is approaching."
He immediately backed up and hid. A man entered the room. Nic peeked through a crack as the man handed cash to the girl inside.
"Come on, don't you want to be my girlfriend?" the man pleaded.
The girl, her expression heated and wild, laughed cruelly. "Are you serious? That was a joke. I'm not interested in someone like you."
Furious, the man raised his hand to slap her—but Nic moved swiftly, catching his wrist mid-swing.
"Back off. Get out of here before I report you," Nic said coldly.
The man hesitated, overwhelmed by Nic's presence, then left without another word.
The girl glared at Nic. "Why... why did you ruin my fun?! Damn it, I was ready for that slap!"
Nic stared at her, then smacked her lightly on the cheek. She froze... and then smiled.
When Nic asked for her name, she replied, "Jenny. Now hit me again. I liked that."
Nic sighed and cracked a grin. His eyes turned cold. "Fine. Wait right there."
He slammed his fist into the wall beside her, cracking the cement. Jenny's eyes sparkled with awe. "Whoa... you're so strong."
Nic approached slowly—but instead of hitting her, he began tickling her neck and sides.
Jenny burst out laughing, confused and overwhelmed. "What—what are you doing?! Stop! Hahaha!"
Just when she was completely vulnerable, Nic slapped her again—this time harder. She froze, and tears welled up in her eyes. She began to cry, no longer laughing.
Nic saw the shift immediately. He hugged her tightly, gently patting her back. "You don't need to fake it. I know that laugh was just hiding the pain."
Jenny shoved him lightly. "Ugh... you made me feel that pain again. Damn you... hiks."
To be continued...
