Chapter 26: Ch.26 : The Warning of Deathly
After the incident, Nic sat on the couch in his room while Kiara scolded him.
"Your head is still hurt and you still went after that crazy stalker? Are you seriously not injured anywhere else?" Kiara carefully examined Nic's head, her face full of concern.
"I'm fine, sis," Nic replied casually. "I've been training martial arts at school. Dealing with a guy like him isn't hard."
Kiara narrowed her eyes at him. "His head was bleeding yesterday and now he's acting all calm after beating up a grown man? This is weird…" she thought.
But Nic looked too relaxed to argue with, so Kiara just let it go.
Once she left the room, Nic sighed and recalled what the system had told him earlier: "You've received an immunity bonus to protect a potential girlfriend."
"A potential girlfriend? What does that even mean?" Nic muttered as he messed up his hair. "What if I confessed to Ella? How would Kiara react? No way, that's insane!"
He flopped onto the couch, covering his face with a pillow—unaware that Daniella was standing by the door. She had brought a glass of warm water for him, but stopped when she overheard his mumbling.
Her face turned red instantly. "Nic… likes me?" she thought, heart racing. Trying to calm herself, she knocked, then entered the room as if she hadn't heard anything.
"Here's your warm water," Daniella said, placing the glass near him. Nic only gave a small nod, not noticing her still-blushing face. Daniella quickly left the room, trying to gather her thoughts.
In the living room, she plopped onto the couch beside Kiara, who was watching TV.
"Hey Kiara, just wondering... does your brother already have a girlfriend?" she asked as if casually making conversation.
Kiara let out a long sigh. "A girlfriend? Daniella... my brother is a PLAYBOY! At first, he had five. That was already insane. But when I visited him in the hospital, there were ELEVEN! ELEVEN GIRLS!"
Daniella's eyes widened. "Seriously?! Eleven?!"
"Dead serious! I still don't get how it happened. Maybe he's making up for how people used to underestimate him," Kiara grumbled while hugging a throw pillow.
Trying to lighten the mood, Daniella said teasingly, "Haha, maybe I should join his harem too. Just kidding~!"
Kiara narrowed her eyes. "Wait. Are you serious? You want to be my brother's girlfriend now?"
"What?! No! Of course not—I was just joking, Kiara! Hahaha…" Her voice betrayed her nerves.
Kiara leaned in closer. "Liar! You wanna be his girlfriend and his big sister at the same time?!"
"Kiara, you're insane!" Daniella pinched her arm hard, making Kiara flinch. Ignoring her afterward, Daniella snacked on chips and focused on the TV.

At School
The Unity Club felt strangely empty without Nic. Leona tried to lift the mood.
"Alright, who wants to visit Nic first today?"
Vivi raised her hand. "I'll go with Nia. The rest of you can take turns later so we don't crowd him."
"Great, I'll come with you two," said Leona.
"Are we going by order, or is it free for all?" Olivia asked.
"Free for all. But if one of the senior girlfriends wants to go first, you juniors better step back," Vivi said with a small smile.
Everyone laughed softly, but their cheerful moment was interrupted when a group of 12th graders suddenly barged into the club room. They were members of Deathly, a notorious gang in Solis Academy.
Fanny stood up and glared at them. "Who are you guys? What do you want here?"
One of them, Greg, stepped forward with a smirk. "Just came to leave a message for Nic. Heard your leader's feeling a bit under the weather?"
"If you've got something to say, tell us. We'll pass it on," Vivi replied coldly.
Greg chuckled. "Relax. It's simple. Tell Nic that once he's better, we'll be waiting behind the school during lunch. He's got business to settle."
Leona scoffed but stayed calm. "If you're messing with Nic, you're messing with us."
Greg grinned. "Good. Makes it more fun." He turned and left with his gang, leaving tension in the room.
"We need to let Nic know about this," Leona said.
Nia nodded. "But not until he's fully recovered. He'll know what to do when the time comes."
The girls exchanged glances. No matter what happened, they would stand by Nic.
The mood was heavy as Deathly's threat lingered. Fanny suddenly stood up.
"That's it! I can't just sit here while Nic keeps getting dragged into this!"
"Fanny, what are you doing?" Lily asked nervously.
"I'm gonna confront them myself!" Fanny declared. "Violet, come with me!"
Violet shrugged and stood up. "Sure. I'm tired of their nonsense too."
But before they could leave, Nia stepped in front of them.
"Fanny, Violet, don't do anything rash! Deathly's hard to deal with. Even the student council avoids them."
Fanny scowled. "Let me handle it!"
Leona also stood up. "If they're that much trouble, I could just get them expelled with my parents' power."
Nia looked uneasy. "It's not that simple, Leona. They've got influence in the 12th grade. Expelling them without proper reason will just stir things up."
Fanny gritted her teeth but sat down again after enough protest. Her sister Jenny patted her on the shoulder. "It's okay, just stay put for now."

Grade 12 Lounge
Meanwhile, Deathly's gang was chilling in their hideout, lounging around.
Greg brought up the topic. "So, any of those Unity Club girls actually dangerous?"
Their data guy flipped open his notebook. "Three dangerous candidates. First, Fanny. She's a beast in 11th grade. All the guys are scared of her."
Greg sneered. "Bunch of cowards."
"Second is Violet. She looks like some gothic chick, but seems to have combat experience."
"Probably all for show," Greg scoffed.
"Third is Leona. She doesn't fight, but her family's filthy rich. She's got influence."
Greg slammed the table. "Damn, why's that club full of girls that are either strong or a pain to deal with?"
Just then, the door slammed open and Eliz, the vice leader, stepped in and smacked Greg on the head.
"Shut up, idiots!" she snapped. Everyone stood at attention.
"I'm going to check on Rayn at the gym. Listen up—don't cause trouble while I'm gone. If I hear any of you messed around…"
She flashed a wicked grin.
"…I'll deal with you myself."
"Yes, ma'am!" they shouted in unison.
Eliz left casually, though her mind was racing.
"Rayn got knocked out by a junior? Who the hell is that kid? I'll ask him myself."
---
Meanwhile
Back home, Nic was feeling stiff and bored. He stood and walked toward the living room.
"Hey sis, I'm going out for a bit. Gonna head to the gym."
Kiara nearly dropped her magazine. "What?! You're still injured! You just got home yesterday!"
Nic smiled. "It's just my head, sis. My body's fine."
Before Kiara could respond, Daniella appeared beside him and gently touched his cheek.
"Want me to take you? What if something happens again?" she said sweetly.
Kiara instantly swatted Daniella's hand away and hugged Nic.
"No way! You're not going with anyone!" she clung tightly to him like an overprotective sister.
"Don't get into trouble, don't run, don't lift anything heavy…" Kiara rattled off warnings while shooting daggers at Daniella.
Daniella pouted and crossed her arms. "Geez, overprotective much?"
"What?!" Kiara snapped, still clinging to Nic.
Nic let out a long sigh. "Can you two stop? I'm just going to the gym. I won't cause trouble, promise."
After their little drama ended, Kiara finally let him go. "Call me if anything happens!"
"Yeah yeah," Nic chuckled as he put on his shoes.
---
He strolled toward the gym, rotating his shoulders.
"Ah, finally. Time to move a little. My head hurts, but my body's totally fine."
At the same time, Eliz was also heading to the gym, her steps brisk and her eyes sharp.
"Hmm, what do 11th graders look like?…"
Unknowingly, fate was already drawing them together.
