Cheat Million Love

Chapter 6: Ch.6 : Promise for the Competition

Nic was still on the basketball court, enjoying his practice time with his new team. Suddenly, a group of students from the Martial Arts Club entered the court. One of them, a confident-looking guy, called out to Nia, the student council president, and asked her to return immediately for a special training session.

Nia, who had been talking to the basketball coach, looked surprised—she had completely forgotten about the practice. But before leaving, she smiled at Nic, leaving behind a sweet impression that made him a little nervous.

The guy from the Martial Arts Club threw a sneering comment as he walked away, "Why would the president bother visiting a low-level club like this? Even the boys' team is just filler for the tournament."

The atmosphere instantly turned tense. Nia stopped in her tracks, turned around, and without hesitation, slapped the guy across the face.

"Watch your mouth! That's rude. Apologize now."

The guy froze, holding his reddened cheek. Awkwardly, he muttered an apology and quickly walked away, catching up with Nia who had already turned around.

The basketball team members who witnessed the scene looked both shocked and amused.

But Vivi, who had been quiet all this time, seemed deep in thought. She was reflecting on how the girls' basketball team kept losing tournaments despite her efforts as the ace player—and the same went for the boys' team.

Nic noticed her expression and approached her, gently patting her head.

"Don't worry. I promise, we'll win the next competition," Nic said with a serious tone.

Vivi gave him a soft smile, then hugged him tightly. "I believe in you."

Later That Day – Martial Arts Club

At the Martial Arts Club practice area, some members were gossiping about Nia's unusual behavior.

One of them asked, "President, why'd you go that far? You usually don't care about other clubs."

Nia, who was in the middle of a high kick, paused her practice. With a firm look in her eyes, she said, "Never underestimate our school's clubs. If I catch any of you doing that again, I won't hesitate to remove you from this club."

Silence fell over the room. No one dared to argue and only nodded in compliance.

That afternoon, as usual, Nic walked home with Vivi. But near a large tree along the road, they saw Nia standing as if waiting for someone.

Nic stopped and looked at Vivi with a serious expression.

"Vivi, I have to be honest. I like Nia too… and now, I'm dating her."

Vivi gave a small smile. "I already knew. I could tell from the way Nia smiled at you on the court earlier."

Nic looked surprised. "You're not mad?"

Vivi shook her head. "It's okay, as long as you don't forget about me."

Without saying another word, Nic hugged Vivi tightly. Then they both walked toward Nia.

Seeing Nic with Vivi, Nia looked nervous. But she gathered her courage and spoke.

"I… I'm sorry if this relationship makes you uncomfortable, Vivi."

To Nia's surprise, Vivi just smiled and said, "It's fine. I don't mind."

The three of them walked home together, the awkward tension gradually fading into something more comfortable.

That Night

In his room, Nic grew curious about his magical phone. He opened the "basketball skill" section and found that it could be upgraded by completing a mission.

The mission was simple, but difficult: Make 100 shots from the center of the court.

"One hundred shots? From mid-court? That's insane…" Nic muttered, but his desire to win the next competition pushed him to try.

The next morning, Nic arrived at the court very early. With high determination, he started practicing. Shot after shot, despite the fatigue, he didn't give up. After a long effort, he finally completed the mission.

But his body was exhausted. As he reached for the final ball, he collapsed to the ground. Lying there, staring at the ceiling, his magical phone buzzed.

"Congratulations, Mr. Nic. You have completed the mission! As a reward, your basketball skill has been upgraded to match a professional player. You also received a permanent physical strength buff due to your perseverance."

Hearing that, Nic smiled weakly. "So, all of this wasn't for nothing."

He chuckled to himself, gathered the scattered balls, and got ready for class with a confident smile. The next basketball competition would be his.
