Cursed to level 1 with an Ego weapon

I put a couple of bandages on her injuries for the meantime. The potion is going to heal Kathrina's injuries, but I prefer to avoid her losing too much blood before that.

"There was no need to do any of that." She says in a bit of frustration... Then she starts to massage her chest. "My boobs are a bit sore, but I am fine..."

"I did it so that we are even. Nothing else."

And stop that!

After a few more minutes, the man slowly returns to consciousness. The potion was managing to heal him fast, and he got back up with some help.

We explain to him what happened.

"T-thank you for saving my wife and me!" He bows towards us. "W-we cannot repay your kindness, but we will be grateful forever!"

"No problem! That is what the Malkor's Eagles are for!" Kathrina says with a proud stance.

And you drag me in turn.

"We are traveling to the port town to the west." The woman explains. "But we cannot afford an escort."

"We are poor and looking for a chance in other lands." The man continues. "We prayed not to find problems in the way... But we were out of luck."

"Ellen put us in your way! I am sure!" Kathrina smiles. "I am positive your travel will be safe from now on!"

"Thank you. I hope you two get safely to your destination as well!" The woman gives us a soft smile.

I go through my inventory and find a couple of scrolls, one with red borders and the other green. I hand them to the man.

"Here..." I say while I place them in his hands. "The green one will teleport you between 50 to 100 meters forward, so you have an easier time escaping, but be careful, as it is a bit random. The red will make a wall of fire a couple of meters from you. Use them when you have an emergency."

"W-what?" The man's eyes were wide. "N-no! We cannot accept something like this!"

"Y-yeah! Y-you already gave us some of your healing potion! This is too much." His wife says.

How humble.

I do not care enough.

"I have better spells than those two scrolls. Please, I insist."

I do not want to make this more uncomfortable. Somehow, I felt that I was throwing away riches. But those were just gathering dust; those scrolls have been in my inventory since I started the game, and never used them.

"T-thank you! I pray the trifacta to bless you two in your travels!" The man says. "I-if by any chance you travel to the old continent, please, look for us in the city of Lhesperia!"

"I hope you two reach the capital well! Goodbye and thanks for everything!" The woman adds.

"I hope your travel is safe! Let Ellen's care guide you!" Kathrina says.

We part ways. Kathrina and I make our way east while the couple moves west.

After a few moments, we can no longer see them in the distance.

Lhesperia... I know that name too.

The developer released a world map when the game was public. The Old and New continents were the biggest masses of land. We are in the New, the southern part to be precise.

What caught my attention about hearing that name and the Old Continent is that the developer has not added that part of the world. He said he was adding it in a future content patch as a paid DLC, but right now is not even in code or assets.

Maybe I can visit it?

"You are odd," Kathrina says while we walk. "Just handing expensive stuff like that to strangers."

"Says the one that ran us into danger," I answer.

"Hehe..." She giggles with the back of her hand on her mouth. "Well... I admit it is dangerous... But I cannot abandon someone in need..."

One of my ears perked up towards her. Not something I control, it just happens.

"Don't you think that can get you killed?"

"I have found myself in danger in the past because of it... But..." She presses her hand to her chest. She is looking forward to the path we are taking, and I feel something in her eyes... Sadness, like she is remembering something. "Don't you think it's the saddest feeling?"

"What feeling?"

"The feeling when you need someone the most, when you are in trouble and you need someone to save you or give you company... No one comes."

There is a smile on her face, but I can tell it is forced. It falters for a moment before returning there, and she is not in her usual high spirit.

I suppose that, for her crazy and dangerous behavior, there is a reason behind it.

"That is why I jump into situations like that. That is why I came running when I heard you. I don't want anyone to have that feeling."

She shakes her head. I am about to say something, but she moves forward and turns to me. She turns

"Enough with being emotional!" She says. "Sorry for getting weird... But hey, now we ARE even!"

"Huh? Even?"

"Yeah! We saw each other's boobs in underwear!"

I was not expecting that!

But... I imagine ahe comfortable saying that because I am a woman right now. If I were a man, maybe she would not have said that.

At the same time... That gave me an advantage.

"In your dreams!" She sticks her tongue towards me, shattering my hopes and dreams. "I saw you staring at my butt earlier! You are a pervert! That is why you were distracted when I hit you by accident!"

I was caught red-handed this whole time!

I suppose that being a woman did not give me a free pass...
