Chapter 62: 25th Floor, Water City
Akira used an ice shield to block the seed bullets that bounced back from the ground, and then used Ghost Flame on the smoke-filled area. Fierce flames erupted like a volcanic eruption.
"…Wuwu——Ooooohhh!!"
A tragic cry sounded, and the body of the moss Huge finally appeared in view.
The charred moss on its body fell down with a clatter, and the outer layer of armor-like roots was almost gone. The eyes that had been flashing red just now were now dim.
"It can even recover its body. It's really a tenacious monster."
Akira condensed a huge fireball in his right hand and was surprised to see new moss growing on the place where the monster had shed its moss.
"It's waiting for my magic. What is it waiting for? Waiting to die?" Akira thought as he looked at the motionless moss Huge.
Feeling that death was near, the vines on the moss Huge's legs pierced through the ground and quickly wrapped around Akira's feet.
At the same time, it tore the vines apart and turned to run away.
"If only I can...if only I can reach that place!" The Moss Huge thought, running and stretching out it's hand towards the forest.
The expanding fireball instantly compressed into a thin sheet, and then began to spin at an astonishing speed.
The high-speed rotating fire disc drew streams of air.
With a crisp "crack" sound, the running moss Huge was caught up by the fire disc and it's body was cut in half.
Akira aimed at the target and clenched his palm. The fire disc containing the violent fire element quickly expanded and exploded.
"Boom boom—"
The place where the Moss Huge was turned into a charred pit. The body of the moss Huge turned into ashes, and even the magic stone shattered. Nothing was left.
"It seems to be an enhanced species that can devour magic stones. Ordinary Moss Huges are not that strong."
Akira had encountered Moss Huges several times after staying with Ais on the 24th floor for a few days, but none of them were so durable.
Akira found no trace of the monster in the pit. After using magic to check, he confirmed that the monster was really dead. Hethen planned to turn around and go to the next floor.
If the monster was still alive and had escaped into the forest, Akira would have to give up his plan to venture to the next floor and continue to hunt it down.
After all, leaving this enhanced species would not be a good thing for others.

"Wow."
A crystal cave appeared in Akira's view. A gentle slope pointed downward, extending into unknown depths.
The cool breeze blowing in from the depths of the cave gently ruffled the tips of his hair. This is a fresh air current that he had never experienced in the "Large Tree Maze".
It leads people without any explanation, heralding that the next chapter of adventure is about to begin.
Akira snapped his fingers, and a ball of fire appeared out of thin air and floated in front of him.
What caught his eyes was a smooth cave with a floor, walls and ceiling that looked like an ice cave.
Going down to the depths of the cave, the sound of water flowing appeared in his ears, and he could gradually see the end of the slope.
Blue light shone in from the exit, and the sound of water splashing becamelouder and louder, becoming clearly audible.
When Akira walked out of the cave, the scene in front of him attracted his attention, and he murmured to himself, "I have come to the right place."
"Such a fantastic scenery..."
The majestic waterfall played a deafening symphony of water.
Crystalline peaks frame magnificent valleys and cliffs.
Accompanied by the mist-like splashing water, the half-human, half-bird harpies, Siren, soared freely in the sky. Their high-pitched cries echoed loudly, and their falling feathers drew graceful arcs in the air.
From here on, it is the Water City.
And the "Great Fall" is no less impressive than the famous waterfalls in his previous world.
It was a magnificent waterfall originating from the top of the 25th floor of the dungeon, a truly spectacular sight. Even a rough estimate put its width at about 400 meters, and its height at nearly twice its width.
Perhaps because of the light reflecting off the crystal, the rushing water took on a charming blue emerald color. This fascinating natural wonder could even make people temporarily forget that this is actually an underground world full of unknowns and dangers.
But while being moved, a terrifying fear would surge in the visitor's heart, the deep fear of the unknown.
Just opposite the waterfall, beneath the crystal clear cliff at Akira's feet, there was a huge waterfall pool hidden.
Once they stumble and fall, even experienced and senior adventurers will die.
What is even more incredible is that this waterfall pool is not the end. The waterfall continues to extend downwards, as if leading to another world.
That's right, this waterfall is just like a staircase, running through the 25th floor and leading to the lower floors, the 26th floor, and the 27th floor.
Of course, you don't really have to jump off the waterfall to reach the next floor. There are safer ways to do it.
Just like the floors above, you have to walk through the maze, with slopes and stairs as numerous as a mountain. Finally, you reach the bottom of the 25th floor, where there is an open cave on the shore adjacent to the waterfall. That is the entrance to the next floor.
From the right to the front, there are cliffs everywhere. There is only a huge circular hole along the left side. There are ten winding roads extending there.
Of course, these roads were not equipped with guardrails. If you slip accidentally, you will fall headfirst into the deep pool of the waterfall far below.
If you are lucky, you will only fall to the next floor, but if you are unlucky, you will be killed by a monster on the spot.
