Chapter 3: Nothing could go wrong, right?
At worst, everyone would be reduced to a puddle of blood if she ran amok. Though she wouldn't care less about others, if she loses herself, even her grandpa will be put in grave danger. Thus, one of the reasons she had only ever used auxiliary skills like array formation and alchemy.
But even then, she was able to climb the ladder and became one of the world's Ten Specialists. Thousand Deaths Bai Xiaotong.
"That stupid name. Thousand Deaths? What kind of era do they think we're living in? Bunch of weirdos."
Bai Xiaotong clucked her tongue in annoyance and shifted her focus back to the clock on the wall, watching it move steadily, almost mockingly.
Another minute passed.
It wasn't the first time, nor did it seem like it would be the last.
She wondered what her grandfather would think if he could see her now, alone in the midst of this lavish, but lifeless, space.
Would he have expected more from her than just a polite smile? Perhaps. Well, she seemed to have a very kind image in the old man's imagination whatever trouble she caused in the past.
"That rude bastard so slow! Did his parents soak him up in turtle blood when he was born?"
Perhaps… Did he get into trouble and die?
"Nah, impossible." Bai Xiaotong rolled her eyes and shrugged off the idea.
A rich military brat, especially the heir of the famous Lei Family, would at least have an A-Rank hunter at his disposal to protect his life.
"Well, if he really encounters a beast coming here from the frontline then I hope he gets at least one limb missing!" Bai Xiaotong snorted. Thanks to him, she was really agitated and starving.
If it was only her, she would've eaten her fill and get done with all of the hassles. But she was here carrying his grandfather's name. Sure, Bai Xiong may not even care about trivial matters tarnishing his so-called reputation, but this granddaughter would!
Bai Xiaotong was worried that by the time she was stuffing her starving self like a pig, the man would suddenly appear and drag the Bai Family's name and criticize her elders due to her poor behaviour.
Though they may appear smiling and gentle, she knew how fickle the older generation who always finds something to quibble on like despicable hyaenas.
But if she had known it would take this fucking long, she would've just gone on and ordered everything on the menu.
"Eating that much won't even take me three hours! If he doesn't give me a proper explanation after this, that brat, I'll assassinate him in his sleep and feed him to the Crocs!"
As for that certain someone, "Sir, are you sure you don't want to go to the hospital? Your heartbeat is abnormally high, but your blood pressure is dropping fast. Someone, call his family in advance!"
While she was seething in rage and murdering the man when she hadn't met in her mind, the waiter walked by, his steps soft and careful almost a tiptoe.
Well, why wouldn't he?
The girl was obviously leaking murderous intent since she had arrived and it's not getting any better.
'Ah, I wanna go home and eat mom's spicy noodles. Why must I be the one to give her this piece of paper just because I lost in rock-paper-scissors?' The waiter weeps internally and bitterly turns to his co-workers who are signalling him to be quick.
'Faster my ass! Why don't you do it if you want? Ah, I hate life and always complain but I didn't say I don't want to live anymore.'
The poor server inhaled deeply and swallowed his courage before mustering all his will to approach the incensed young woman.
While hastily extending his arms with the card, he closed his eyes and choked every word in a crappy robotic tone, "E-Excuse me, ma'am. So... Sorry to disturb you. I——" sensing no movement from the person, the man carefully opens his eyes and as soon as he did, his breathing hitch.
Leaving the rest of the restaurant crew dumbfounded, he instantly regretted coming to work today and quickly sprinted out for his dear life.

Hidden behind the kitchen, the manager slash owner was pacing back and forth with his toes on a cliff.
"Ah, ah! Why does that Miss Bai have to choose our restaurant of all places?"
He was on the edge and was just thankful the restaurant had been reserved if not no sane person would enter the cave of a malevolent dragon just to order a serving of food. He glanced towards the piece of document in his cold hands.
It was property insurance that he signed on a whim without asking when the man from the Bai Family showed him how much it was.
"W-Where in the heart of the city, nothing should go wrong, right?"
RIGHT???
The owner tried to convince himself to stay calm and took out a soul-calming pill to ease his worries. Yet, even then, a hollow sense of foreboding crept inside him.
"Who was it? Who was so stupid to make Miss Bai wait? That tardy bastard who borrowed a lion's liver and still couldn't buy a watch and forgot about his schedule?"
It was told that Miss Bai values her time and never once stepped out of her house in the outskirts ever since she settled in three years ago. Not even the President could make her move.
Just what kind of person is it that she went out on her own and even waited for over three hours?
"That person, does he have a death wish?"
How could he offend that little ancestor outside and drag their peace-loving restaurant into a folly?
Argh!
The man clenched his teeth and harshly bit down his handkerchief while swearing at the unknown person like he was the one he offended, judging by how he was bearing a huge grudge.
"If I ever find out who it was, I'll feed him Carolina Reapers and make him drink freshly squeezed Wasabi tea until that foolish huge guts of him burst!"
When suddenly the door to the kitchen flung open and the first thing the kitchen staff saw was a server yelping and running out of their establishment.
Boom!
"Oh, oh my gosh, what is happening?"
Despite fretting in fear, the manager pulled the person closest to him and ran outside to see what was going on. No. It wasn't because he had an ounce of bravery in his pocket-sized gall, right now he was more worried about losing his livelihood than his own life!
Using the waiter as a shield he cautiously went to the safer side and looked at what was going on but due to the dust, his eyes were covered in a haze.
Coughed.
"Someone, come!"
Coughed.
"Damn it, just tell me what's going on and—" his eyes widened in horror once the dust settled and he saw what had become of his store. A huge dent appeared at the center of his restaurant like a meteor shower had struck it down.
"Ah, my precious floor!"
And if that wasn't bad enough, "No, no!" His heart jumped to his throat and ran crying towards the huge broken glass. "Not the window! I commissioned that from the dwarfs! It's the last one!"
How can he get another now that they've turned hostile to humans?
