DC HERO AT MARVEL

Chapter 230: Chapter 230 Fierce Battle! Spider-Man to the Rescue!

Captain America fell from the rooftop.

In the blink of an eye, he was far from the edge, with only a couple more moments before he hit the ground.

However, as a battle-hardened veteran, Captain America had a wealth of combat experience and was adept at adapting to his surroundings.

With a twist of his waist, he quickly moved closer to the building wall.

Bang!!

Swinging his shield, he drove it hard into the wall, carving a deep gash into the building surface and even exposing the steel beams within.

Debris flew in all directions, pelting his face without leaving a single mark.

This move significantly slowed his fall.

When he was still a dozen meters from the ground, Captain America leapt off. The incredible force of his landing left a deep crater in the pavement.

Safe landing.

"Phew!"

Captain America exhaled deeply, his expression grave as he looked up at the rooftop.

At that moment, the citizens of Washington finally caught sight of the man who had recently dominated the news and been the subject of worldwide discussion—the resurrected Captain America.

"Is that really Captain America?"

"He really alive!"

"Wait, didn't he join S.H.I.E.L.D. Avengers? Who he fighting?"

"Look up there, Cyborg and Iron Man are fighting…"

"Wait, is that Wonder Woman standing at the edge of the rooftop?"

"Oh my god, are the Avengers fighting the Justice League?"

The citizens were dumbfounded, their faces filled with shock.

If they could see everyone gathered on that rooftop, they might have been so stunned they'd be left speechless.

At this moment, the conflict between the Justice League and the Avengers had just begun.

Strictly speaking, the entire sequence of events so far had only spanned a few minutes.

It was only now that Washington citizens began to realize an extraordinary battle was unfolding.

Both sides boasted terrifying lineups:

The Justice League, well-established and deeply ingrained in the public minds.

And the Avengers, newly formed yet already spotlighted on the global stage, led by the first true symbol of American ideals.

Passersby cried out in alarm.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, they froze momentarily before scattering in panic, scrambling to flee the area as fast as they could.

Meanwhile, from a safer distance, other onlookers noticed a tall, radiant figure bathed in golden light on the damaged rooftop.

Without hesitation, this stunning figure leapt gracefully from the edge of the building, diving straight down.

"This…"

The onlookers were left dumbfounded.

Of course, they recognized that tall and radiant figure.

There weren't many widely recognized female superheroes.

In the original storyline, Black Widow, who would later become a household name, had only just made her public debut at the Avengers' founding press conference.

Strictly speaking, there was only one female superhero at this time.

And that was Wonder Woman, whose initial appearance had instantly catapulted her into fame across the globe.

Her autobiographical movie grossed over a billion dollars, and she became the dream goddess of countless admirers.

For Wonder Woman to leap down without any preparation—how bold was that?

As expected of a god!

Boom!!

Under the watchful eyes of hundreds, Wonder Woman descended like a meteor. Her speed increased as she fell, producing a terrifying sonic boom that erupted in everyone ears.

Bang!

Moments later, she landed. Her long, perfectly shaped legs didn't even bend as she slammed into the ground, leaving a ten-centimeter-deep crater beneath her feet.

A circular pit, over ten meters in diameter, instantly formed, with web-like cracks radiating outward in all directions.

Gulp.

"That terrifying!"

The crowd in the distance, witnessing the scene, turned pale as they once again grasped what it meant to face a god.

In their eyes, Wonder Woman actions had already surpassed the realm of humanity!

Even aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, where Hill and her team were monitoring the battle through city-wide surveillance, everyone was frozen in shock.

Among them, Coulson let out a long sigh.

He was the first S.H.I.E.L.D. agent to have encountered Wonder Woman.

Back during the New Mexico incident involving Thor, Wonder Woman arrival and her effortless defeat of the so-called "Destroyer," a biomechanical weapon, had made him realize what divine power truly meant.

Even now, seeing her again, the sense of awe in his heart hadn't diminished in the slightest.

"Prepare for support!"

Coulson took a deep breath and was the first to recover, addressing Acting Director Hill.

"We can't count on the Avengers to hold off the Justice League. Batman and his team possess combat capabilities far beyond our expectations. The Avengers need the helicarrier for backup…"

"You're right."

Hill was silent for a moment before nodding. She issued the order:

"Everyone, prepare for deployment. Head to downtown Washington immediately and provide support for the Avengers."

"Yes, ma'am!"

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents wore solemn expressions.

From the footage they'd just seen, they clearly understood that an intense battle awaited them.

At this moment, in downtown Washington, the battleground between the Justice League and the Avengers.

After witnessing Wonder Woman descent, Captain America felt a sinking sensation in his heart, fully realizing the disparity in strength between the two sides.

If he could rally the entire Avengers team, Captain America believed there might still be hope for victory.

But the Justice League didn't just have Wonder Woman—they also had more members than the Avengers!

"This is trouble!"

Captain America exhaled, forcing himself to suppress his shock.

Even with his confidence, he couldn't delude himself into thinking he could defeat Wonder Woman.

The power she had displayed so far was entirely beyond the comprehension of a human like him.

"Divine power…"

He gritted his teeth, gripping his shield tightly as a determined look crossed his face.

"Hmph!"

Wonder Woman let out a cold snort, her gaze indifferent, exuding an air of superiority.

"The struggles of mortals!"

Whoosh!

She moved again, her figure like lightning, slamming into Captain America once more.

He was sent flying over a hundred meters, smashing through a dozen streetlights before plowing a deep trench into the ground, utterly defenseless.

On the rooftop.

Having entrusted Captain America to Wonder Woman, Batman—Anton—was utterly confident in her capabilities.

While Captain America possessed the strength to stand toe-to-toe with many opponents, he was far from capable of challenging a god-tier opponent like Wonder Woman.

The Super Soldier Serum might have made him a peerless warrior on Earth, but it couldn't equip him to handle someone like Wonder Woman, whose power exceeded the Earth norms.

In Anton eyes, while Wonder Woman wasn't quite at the odin level, she was far beyond Earth-level and brushed close to the odin domain.

After all, in her list of achievements, she had managed to clash head-on with Superman using just a headbutt.

As these thoughts passed through his mind, Anton turned his attention back to the ongoing battles.

The fight between the four Ninja Turtles and Black Widow and Hawkeye was at a stalemate.

The Extremis virus injections granted Black Widow and Hawkeye not only the ability to release temperatures of several thousand degrees but also remarkable regenerative abilities.

The Turtles, with their tough skins and sturdy shells, could suppress the duo but struggled to inflict any decisive damage.

Meanwhile, the battles involving Otto and Rumlow were far from stalemates—they were utterly one-sided.

Rumlow, tasked with handling both Daredevil and Venom, was overwhelmed.

He had been beaten to the point of having his head split open and was in a miserable state.

As the commander of S.H.I.E.L.D. rapid response unit and a Hydra operative hidden within its ranks, Rumlow wasn't weak by any means.

But his sharp tongue had sealed his fate. Handling Daredevil alone might have been manageable, but provoking Venom had been a catastrophic mistake.

Bang!!

Rumlow crashed into the rooftop stairwell entrance, collapsing the structure and becoming buried beneath the rubble.

He remained motionless for a long while, unable to get up.

Facing the combined assault of Venom and Daredevil, even the most advanced equipment couldn't have saved him from this predicament.

As for Doctor Octopus, Otto wasn't faring much better.

He had chosen to target his nemesis, Spider-Man, but hadn't accounted for the sheer number of Justice League members.

Green Arrow, surveying the scene, realized he'd been overlooked and was incensed.

After a moment thought, he decided to poach Spider-Man target.

Let not forget, Doctor Octopus had first appeared on Manhattan Bridge in New York.

Back then, Green Arrow and Cyborg had teamed up to pummel him. Although Green Arrow had only played a minor role in that fight, he didn't mind playing second fiddle again if it meant beating Otto for the second time.

As the battle unfolded, Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus darted around the walls of the building, their rapid movements causing panic among the office workers inside.

The workers quickly recognized the two combatants.

Both had made headlines during their time in neighboring New York.

Spider-Man!

Doctor Octopus!

Spider-Man, a member of the Justice League, was a familiar figure frequently featured in The Daily Bugle and other New York media outlets.

Doctor Octopus, Otto, had recently resurfaced in the public eye, thanks to the buzz surrounding the Avengers.

"What going on?"

"Why are Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus fighting?"

"And just now, there was Captain America and Wonder Woman… Are the Justice League and Avengers really at war?"

"Aren't they both superhero teams?"

"Oh my God, can someone explain what happening?"

The battle between Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus caught the attention of the nearby crowd, leaving them utterly shocked.

At this point, it was undeniable: the Justice League and the Avengers were at war.

Although the rooftop battle had yet to come into full view of the public, what they could see

Wonder Woman vs.

Captain America,

Spider-Man vs. Doctor Octopus,

Cyborg vs. Iron Man

was already enough to confirm that the two factions were locked in a deadly struggle.

Their fierce combat surrounded the unsuspecting skyscraper, threatening to destroy it in the crossfire.

Before long, the crowd witnessed another figure joining the fray.

Green Arrow fired an arrow with a suction-cup tip. Under the watchful eyes of hundreds, he swung to the rooftop of an adjacent building. Drawing his bow, he aimed at Doctor Octopus and released the arrow.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Arrow after arrow flew, striking the joints of Doctor Octopus mechanical arms.

Crack, crack, crack!

Sparks erupted from the impact, lighting up the skyscraper.

The mechanical arms were hit by explosive-tipped arrows, spewing black smoke—not overly thick, but impossible to ignore.

"Damn it!"

Otto expression darkened as he tried to maneuver his slightly damaged mechanical arms to find cover from Green Arrow sniper-like attacks.

But he had grossly underestimated Green Arrow capabilities.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Another arrow streaked through the air.

This time, it carried an acid-tipped head. Upon hitting the mechanical arm, the arrow released a highly concentrated acid that immediately began corroding the damaged portion of the arm.

Even though Otto mechanical arms likely included vibranium in their construction, no metal was immune to the effects of corrosive substances—not even vibranium or adamantium.

Zzzzzzz!

The acid quickly disrupted the circuitry in the mechanical arms, rendering them inoperable. The claw-like appendages at the ends of the arms went limp and unresponsive.

Crack, crack, crack!

Simultaneously, the intense battle caused the wall supporting the mechanical arms to crumble like a fragile paper screen. The arms tore through the weakened structure, leaving Otto without a foothold.

Whoosh!

Otto pupils contracted as he plummeted helplessly toward the ground.

His situation mirrored Captain America earlier fall.

However, unlike Captain America, Otto lacked the agility and adaptability to react effectively.

Compounded by the erratic functionality of his acid-damaged arms, he lost all ability to save himself, and a wave of despair surged through his heart.

"It over!"

Otto shut his eyes, as if seeing the Grim Reaper approaching.

Whoosh!

Just as he was about to hit the ground, a web shot out from above, suspending him between two buildings.

"What?"

Otto opened his eyes and looked up at the sky.

His body swayed from the tension of the webbing, rocking up and down. As his vision steadied, the scene before him gradually came into focus.

There, he saw Spider-Man perched on a webline strung between two buildings.

Balanced in an iconic Spider-Man crouch—something most Europeans could only dream of replicating—he maintained incredible stability, as if walking on air. With a casual shrug, Spider-Man gestured at him.

It was as if he was saying:

Take it easy, buddy!

"Heh…"

On the rooftop of another building, Green Arrow watched the scene unfold and chuckled with a sense of admiration.

Spider-Man act of saving Otto didn't surprise him in the slightest.
