DC HERO AT MARVEL

Chapter 261: Chapter 261 Kingdom Come Armor

Seeing the energy beam coming his way, Anton focused his gaze and quickly dodged.

Boom!!

The wall behind him exploded, leaving a gaping hole.

Anton frowned slightly under his mask.

Although the cape on his back provided a certain level of protection, it was far from sufficient against the energy beam unleashed by Loki Scepter of Mind.

In other words, using the Arkham Knight armor against Loki—a god from Asgard—was indeed somewhat outdated.

It was time for an upgrade!

[You have 45 million Justice Points. The highest exchangeable item is the Kingdom Come Armor.]

[Do you wish to exchange?]

Without hesitation, Anton decided to confirm.

He had originally planned to farm Justice Points using Victor Von Doom, the villain from the Fantastic Four movie,

but unexpectedly, Doom had been recruited into the Avengers by S.H.I.E.L.D., denying Anton any opportunities to gain points.

As a result, he was still short of the 50 million he needed, with only 45 million accumulated.

Given the circumstances, there was no need to struggle over choosing between the Kingdom Come Armor and the Anti-Superman Armor.

[Exchange successful. 40 million Justice Points deducted.]

The system prompt flashed through his mind.

Anton clenched his fists as his armor rapidly transformed in front of Loki.

"Hmm."

In a blink of an eye, Loki felt an overwhelming sense of threat from the Batman before him—something he had never experienced before.

Immediately, Batman armor began to change.

The golden belt turned silver, adding a bat-shaped emblem.

His entirely black armor swiftly transitioned into another black metal that gleamed with an even greater luster.

The cape on his back also changed, appearing to include metallic components. It looked less like a cape and more like wings.

It worth mentioning that, compared to previous suits, the biggest differences in this armor were the flight apparatus on the back, the equipped laser cannons, and the sharp blades on the wings.

Oh, and the terrifying defensive capabilities of this suit.

After all, in some respects, this was an armor capable of facing Superman head-on.

In the story of Kingdom Come, the struggles of superheroes brought immense suffering to humanity.

By that point, superheroes were more like superpowered individuals.

At the height of the superpowered individuals fiercest battles, Captain Atom exploded during combat, turning the entire state of Kansas into a radiation zone. Nearly a million people died instantly, shocking the world.

Eventually, Superman—who had retired following Lois Lane death—returned, with his divine nature overpowering his humanity.

To rebuild order among superhumans, he adopted exceptionally harsh measures, forcing everyone to choose sides.

Those who refused to comply were deemed enemies as he formed a new Justice League.

Batman disagreed with Superman approach and refused to join the new Justice League.

Instead, he secretly aligned himself with Superman archenemy, Lex Luthor.

Ultimately, a three-way war ensued, during which the Kingdom Come Armor demonstrated power on par with any superhero.

It wasn't until Shazam sacrificed himself that Superman humanity returned.

The apocalyptic battle concluded with a politically correct peaceful resolution, and the story of Kingdom Come drew to a close.

In every version of the story, someone always had to sacrifice themselves.

Typically, it was either Lois Lane or Barry Allen.

In the story of Kingdom Come, Lois died early, foreshadowing Superman return with his divine nature overshadowing his humanity.

However, perhaps out of mercy from the writers, the one to make the ultimate sacrifice in the end wasn't The Flash but Shazam.

Back to the present.

"Hmm?"

Seeing Batman undergo an almost earth-shattering transformation in the blink of an eye, Loki narrowed his eyes, his expression betraying a flicker of uncertainty.

In that instant, the threat emanating from Batman had multiplied exponentially.

Loki could see that the armor had been switched, but he had no idea what kind of power this new suit possessed.

Once again, Loki unleashed a beam of energy from the Scepter of Mind.

This time, Anton did not dodge.

The Armor of Kingdom Come was equipped with a laser cannon, giving him a formidable ranged counterattack capability.

When faced with Loki assault, he now stood his ground.

The energy beam and laser collided mid-air, creating a massive explosion of flames and an intense wave of heat that swept through the room.

Loki furrowed his brows.

He could clearly see that Batman combat capabilities had skyrocketed after switching armors.

"The leader of the Justice League... Not bad at all," Loki sneered coldly.

Through the flames, Batman surged forward, carried by the propulsion of his flight apparatus.

His massive fist, brimming with the strength to shatter stone, swung directly at Loki.

Loki raised his hand in defense, conjuring a divine shield in front of him.

As a master of magic, Loki excelled in illusions, but that didn't mean he was unfamiliar with other forms of sorcery.

A magic shield, or divine shield, was one of the most common defensive spells.

Crack, crack, crack!

To Loki shock, Batman punch shattered his divine shield.

The translucent shield broke apart like glass, cracks spidering across its surface instantly.

The next moment, Batman unleashed a laser beam.

Boom!!

Loki pupils constricted as the laser pierced through his body, even punching a hole in the floor.

However, Anton remained unmoved.

He could clearly see that the Loki in front of him was dissolving into nothingness—just another illusion.

"Not bad," Anton said flatly, unfazed.

He wasn't surprised. After all, Loki specialty was escaping.

If killing Loki were this easy, he wouldn't have caused so much trouble from The Avengers all the way to Infinity War, only to finally meet his end.

Of course, considering the Marvel Cinematic Universe plans from before Anton transmigration, the "dead" Loki was merely one from a parallel timeline.

In Avengers: Endgame, the Avengers time-travel escapades had altered parts of the timeline, allowing Loki—who was supposed to have died—to escape his fate.

Marvel had even announced a TV series based on Loki, further proving his uncanny knack for survival. His resilience was like that of an indestructible cockroach.

As Anton mused on this, he caught sight of Manhattan current state through the massive open window.

The Chitauri army had arrived in overwhelming numbers, filling the cityscape.

"Time is running out!"

Anton eyes turned icy as he scanned for Loki. "I don't have time to play games with you here!"

Near Stark Tower

The battle between the Justice League and the Avengers quickly escalated into a heated confrontation.

This time, every member of the Justice League held nothing back.

They all understood that the Avengers had been controlled by the enemy. Each attack from the Avengers aimed directly for vital points, and with the city swarming with dangerous aliens, there was no time for prolonged skirmishes.

The Justice League members fought with full force, sparing no effort.

"Come to think of it, killing you guys doesn't feel quite right..."

At that moment, Green Arrow, along with Venom and the Turtles, had Hawkeye and Black Widow pinned down completely.

Drawing another arrow from his quiver, Green Arrow spoke in a low voice.

"Maybe we'll just disable you instead!"
