Chapter 5: villian ,no i am a hero for fun
As Ryu made his way to Gotham City, scouting for criminal gangs to target, I finished my understanding of cursed energy and how much I'd need to fight common criminals. Oh, Ryu's found a gang for me to hit, I thought, feeling a faint connection with him through our bond. Alright then, time for my first hero debut.
Clap!
I exchanged myself with Ryu, then quickly desummoned him. Instantly, I felt the atmosphere around me change. While Central City had little to no cursed energy output, here in Gotham, every street and building seemed saturated with it, as if a domain had cursed this place. Wait a minute… isn't this the plot of one of the Batman stories where Gotham was cursed by a demon? Maybe I can fight him and absorb him once I get Geto's technique. That monkey hater was seriously a fraud after Megumi.
Alright, enough daydreaming. Focus on the objective. I was here to test my fighting skills in a real-life combat situation and, well, borrow some money. Is it really stealing if you're taking it from criminals? That's the real question people should be asking. I observed the building where the criminals were hiding, my mind sharp and focused.
"What the he—" one of the men started to say before my fist collided with his face, sending him crashing into a wall. Okay, 5% cursed energy is too much for them. I'll have to dial it down. I thought, realizing I might have overdone it. But my objective was clear: take them down and make it known that I was here. I could already hear footsteps rushing toward my position.
Clap!
"Where did the bastard go?" one of the men growled, scanning the room.
Suddenly, behind them, the man seemed to materialize out of thin air.
"There! He's there!" another shouted, spinning around—only to find nothing.
"Looking for me?" a voice echoed, but it was too late.
One of the men was struck with a punch to his face, sending him reeling. Before the second could react, a side kick to his chest sent him sprawling to the ground.
Another attacker lunged at me with a knife, aiming for my neck, but I tilted my head back just enough to dodge the blade.
Clap!
I teleported behind him and delivered a sharp karate chop to the back of his head, dropping him instantly.
BAM! BAM!
The man in front fired his gun at me, but the bullets barely made a dent—my armor absorbed the impact effortlessly.
Clap!
I appeared right in front of him, startling him. He tried to back away, but I grabbed his arm and crushed it. A scream of pain tore from his lips, but before he could recover, I landed a punch to his face, shattering his teeth. Blood dripped from his mouth as he collapsed, writhing in agony.
"Okay, that was easy," I muttered, glancing at the bloody mess around me.
"Now, onto my next test," I said, pointing at the sky—or rather, at the ceiling, since I was still inside.
I made my way to the door and opened it with a creak. The room was filled with everything a gang would need to operate—food, drugs, and more. My eyes scanned the space, searching for what I needed. After a few minutes, I finally found it: money. I ripped open the vault with little effort and started counting. Let's see… I've just hit the jackpot, I thought, stuffing the cash into a bag. In total, I had collected $1.2 million.
As I was about to close the bag, I heard a noise from the window. I turned my head just in time to see the glass shatter inward as a figure rolled into the room and landed in a fighting stance. My eyes narrowed as I recognized her—black mask, a black outfit with the bat symbol on her chest. It was none other than Cassandra Cain, the Orphan herself. From her perspective, I probably looked like the villain here.
I quickly tried to defuse the situation. "Wait, I'm not a villain—" I started, but she didn't give me a chance to finish.
She lunged at me with a powerful punch aimed at my face. Shit.
Clap!
I teleported behind her, but she didn't miss a beat. She twisted her body and spun into a kick aimed at my head. I ducked backward, narrowly avoiding the blow, and before she could steady herself, I threw a punch at her stomach, sending her flying a few meters back. She blocked my attack, I realized, as my fist hadn't connected fully. But I had created some distance.
Before she could attack again, I raised my hands and said, "Wait! I'm not a villain!"
She hesitated for a moment, her eyes flicking to the broken vault and the bag of money I had been filling. Then she pointed at it accusingly, as if to say, Then what's this?
"i was going to give it to the commmuinty " i said while slowy getting a birng the bag in my shoulder
" drop it " a gruff sounding voice came from my behind and i dont need to whos it was
