Passing through the forest at a considerable speed, a group of people mounted on some strange beast was discussing some matters loudly.

"Where is this entrance that you mentioned is located again?"(???)

The man behind the leader of the group, asked.

"It's on the base of the mountain, like I told you before. Besides, if you don't want to be chased by angry wyverns or worse, we need to use that entrance." (???)

Without stopping, the leader of the group answered in a clearly annoyed tone.

As they were talking, the pace never stopped, and in a couple of minutes they were approaching the base of the rocky mountain.

As they were getting closer and closer, a voice at the back interrupted.

"Oi, isn't that the mage?"(???)

Although his voice wasn't loud, six members of the group suddenly stopped and looked where the one behind was looking.

Graaggh!

The sudden movement displeased the beasts that they were mounting; the noise of the sudden movement attracted the attention of the person that they were looking at.

A man wearing a wizard cloak with runic patterns all over it and a strange staff with a peculiar stone on top emitting powerful magic was standing in the middle of the forest.

"Well, well, if it isn't my favorite adventure group." (Isaac)

'This is interesting; they appeared to be older than the last time I saw them...'

As he noticed, the five adventurers were a little bit older, probably in their mid-30s, with the exception of the dark elf, whose appearance hasn't changed a bit. On top of that, their equipment and presence were leagues above of what they had before.

"Isaac!" (Eric)

The leader of the adventures dismounted his beast; he removed his helmet, and with a friendly smile, he approached him.

"It's been a while, my friend" (Eric).

He hugged him tightly, which Isaac responded to in kind.

"Indeed it has been, so how come all of you are here?" (Isaac)

After the hug, he looked at all of them.

"We got a mission that will help in the incoming war." (Mary)

'Interesting...wait, it can't be…' (Isaac)

Her words intrigued him; that's when he thought about it more, and something clicked.

"By any chance, does it have anything to do with dragons?" (Isaac)

"Eh!? How did you know?" (Mary)

All of them were taken aback by his response after all; according to the intelligence, they received the news of the conflict between the dragon factions was a secret that only a select few knew about.

"Ha, ha, ha, what a coincidence. My master also sent me on a mission that involves those dragons too" (Isaac).

With his response, everyone calmed down a little bit. They knew that the master of this mysterious mage was as mysterious as him, but he had earned their trust, so it extended to his mysterious master.

"Do you know the entrance to the valley?" (Tannya) The dark elf asked.

"Oh, there was an entrance?"(Isaac)

That response says it all.

"Wait, don't tell me you were going to climb that mountain to get to the valley..." (Ari)

This time their scout questioned him while pointing at the huge mountain a couple of feet from them.

Stare

'Those gazes hurt...please stop' (Isaac)

Sigh.

"Isaac, you...(Eric)

When the conversation was going to take a little bit longer, someone decided to intervene, saving the lecture for Isaac.

"Sorry to interrupt, but we are short on time. We don't know when they will decide who will be the next dragon king."(???)

This brought up everyone's attention.

"Right, sorry, Isaac, we will need to talk later..." (Eric)

He put his helmet back on and mounted his beast while offering an invitation.

"Would you like to travel with us?"(Eric)

The five remaining members looked at him expectantly for his response.

"Sure, just like old times..."(Isaac)

After a couple of minutes of traveling with his new group, Isaac found himself at the base of the Rocky Mountain. In front of him was the person that was elected as mediator between the dragon race and the human race.

According to Mary, his name was [Odhar], a relatively young dragon barely 200 years old in comparison to his older siblings, who were 500 to 1,000 years old.

"I'm going to open the entrance; once inside, let me do the talking. Our race is very proud, so please bear with it until the negotiations are brought out to the talk." (Odhar)

Without waiting for an answer, he approached the rocky wall, and with his right hand extended up, he started to chant some spell in a tongue incomprehensible for the adventurers; only one person understood this language.

"[Bex, Vonnun, Miiraad](Odhar)

(Open/Hidden/Door)

'[Dragon Tongue]' (Isaac)

Thanks to his amulet, which was also related to dragons, he could feel a little familiarity with the magic the spell used; that's why he understood right away.

When he finished his spell, a huge and majestic door materialized on the wall; it had some intricate designs, along with runes in dragon tongue and dragon effigies all over it.

Clank

Immediately after the door opened up by itself, once it was wide open, Odhar turned around and spoke.

"Let's go; I hope we aren't too late." (Odhar)

*********************************

The passage was clean and very wide, wide enough for the mounts to pass through without a problem. Each section of the walls was illuminated by a yellow crystal lamp, but something was missing.

'There are no guards in this place....ha, ha, they are really prideful, huh?' (Isaac)

The lack of security spoke of only one thing: confidence, the confidence that no one will attack them.

As they were approaching the end of the entrance/tunnel, the group started to feel something.

Haa

Haa

Their breathing started to accelerate; Mary was pale, and Tannya had a face of pain. Only Isaac was fine, but seeing his companions that way, he could only act before it was too late.

He pulls his right hand into his pocket, and then he pulled out six talismans with the word [Dissipation] written on them. With a flick of his wrist, the six talismans land in the bodies of each one of them.

Tsss

Tsss

The effects were immediate; their breathing returned to normal, and May and Tannya had a face of gratitude towards him. Ari couldn't hold her curiosity and asked what everyone was thinking.

"What happened back there?" (Ari)

Isaac only thought for a second and then answered the most honest thing he could think of.

"The mana in this place is much more dense than in other places, so probably your bodies were not used to absorbing that much, which triggered a response from your body, confusing it for illness." (Isaac)

His answer was understood by only two people in the group, but all of them responded.

"Ohhh."

What Isaac didn't tell them was that simple mana density wouldn't cause those symptoms, but they didn't need to know that just yet.

'I guess the corruption has already started to affect the environment...hmm...this is not going to be easy...' (Isaac)
