DC/Marvel: This Guy is Insane

Chapter 86: Chapter 86: A Double Betrayal

"Bats, you're sweating," Alan taunted. Seeing Alan's arrogant look, Bruce truly wanted to punch him a few times to vent his hatred.

At this time, a Batwing rushed over from the sky, hovering over the freighter. Tear gas sprayed from Bruce's suit, driving back Deathstroke.

"Retreat," he commanded. Then, a grappling gun fired at the Batwing. Meanwhile, Oliver pulled out a rope arrow and shot it into the freighter's flank. Realizing the situation was dire, Bruce immediately contacted Damian, who was on standby, to come for support. As meticulous as he was, he had ignored the most unlikely of outcomes. As for Eric, he was beyond saving. When he had fallen into a coma, the vampires had already taken control of him.

It was like picking up one hundred million for free, Frost thought. The most unhappy person present was Deathstroke, who had lost a small fortune of one hundred million. The happiest person was Deacon Frost. Everything had gone smoothly for him, and he had gotten whatever he needed.

Soon, Alan led his three Robins to the deck.

"I want to join you. Will you give me the honor?" Alan put his hands on his hips, his expression allowing for no rejection.

"No problem," Frost readily agreed. The other party had presented him with a great gift as soon as he had arrived, which had saved a lot of waiting time and was enough to show his sincerity.

The judge of the Court of Owls said, "We disagree." Alan's previous actions against them could not be so easily forgotten, and he couldn't even be bothered to understand their overall plan.

"You are so petty." Changing the subject, Alan said seriously, "I think the dark camp has a better future, so I came to join you. As far as I know, 'Bats' has already come into contact with three kinds of metal and will soon usher in a new era. Of course, I have to arrange a future for myself."

"Unless you can prove it, we won't believe it," the judge said bluntly. If he could betray Bruce today, he could betray them tomorrow.

"It's easy. I'll take you to a temporary base to make the reversal serum." Alan didn't hesitate to betray them again; it wasn't the first time, after all.

Upon hearing about the reversal serum, Frost's eyes couldn't help but become solemn. He didn't believe that a reversal serum could be developed—otherwise, it would have been released long ago and would have dealt a devastating blow to the vampires—but he couldn't be 100% certain. Immediately, he decided to lead the vampires to destroy the results of the serum research.

Deathstroke said grimly, "My mission is over. Goodbye." How could he be nice to Alan after losing one hundred million? Cutting off someone's financial resources was like killing their parents. He was very restrained in not taking action on the spot.

"Wait a minute," the judge said. "It's still one hundred million. I'll hire you to assist for a period of time."

"Deal!" I'm back to life, he thought. So I must accept it. Deathstroke had a group of mercenaries to support. No one would work for him without money.

The first thing he did was to rush straight to Batman's temporary base. Arthur drove an old sedan, taking Alan and the other two with him. On the side of the vampires, there were many motorcycles and cars following. The Talon warriors moved between the tall buildings, chasing the classic car.

Boom-ch-boom-ch-boom-ch…

"Who is singing, warming my loneliness? White clouds are floating in the blue sky, tears are still drifting…" Alan started singing out of boredom, and the four of them clapped their butts to the beat. From the outside, the whole car looked as if it were having a seizure, swaying up and down constantly.

Having escaped danger, Bruce and Oliver returned to the temporary base. At this moment, Bruce's expression was as gloomy as water. He truly couldn't understand why Alan would betray him. Oliver's eyes were filled with murderous intent. They were old acquaintances, but someone had stabbed them in the back, which made them feel completely chilled to the bone.

"Can we call on the members of the Justice League to help?" No matter how angry he was, he could still remain calm and analyze the situation. According to the current situation, they no longer had any chance of winning. The imbalance of power had put them in a passive position.

"I can't call anyone. There have been frequent incidents in various places recently. Diana, who was on duty at the Hall of Justice, hasn't been in touch for a long time because of something that happened on Paradise Island. The only one who could come would be Barry, and he should be able to solve the problem soon," Oliver stroked his chin and thought.

"Contact Barry first. Tell him to finish what he's doing and rush to Gotham as soon as possible." After all, there was no way Bruce would ask the Avengers for help. As one of the giants of the Justice League, he naturally couldn't lose face.

"The serum worked!" Suddenly, a busy Pamela cheered. After continuous experimentation with serum formulas day and night, she had finally obtained the first generation of reversal serum. The effect of this serum might not meet expectations, but it could have a reversal effect, though there were unknown side effects.

Boom!

The base gate was bombed open. Vampires armed with firearms filed in. Among them, Alan stood out and boasted, "I was right. They're all here."

"You bastard!" Damian roared and had already drawn his weapon, ready to kill. He couldn't believe Alan's betrayal at first and couldn't help but imagine that he might have infiltrated the enemy camp to launch a surprise attack at the critical moment. Now, it seemed the betrayal was a fact.

Intensive firepower forced Damian back. Bruce and Oliver tried to move away, but the space was not wide enough for them to fully display their strength.

"Hehehe… Poor little bat-boy. He has an indifferent father and is trained to be a hypocritical hero." Arthur smiled and kept shooting at Damian's hiding place.

Bang!

A tear gas canister landed. A thick, pungent fog filled the air.

"'Bats, running away won't solve the problem, cough, cough… come out and face your fate, cough, cough… ugh…" Alan spoke loudly despite the tear gas, and suddenly he couldn't bear it anymore. He shouted in pain, "Cough… my eyes hurt, cough… my throat hurts, cough… it's killing me!"

When the fog cleared, Bruce and the others had evacuated through the escape route. Because she was hiding too far away and not wearing a protective mask, Pamela was curled up in a corner, covering her face.

"My eyes, cough, cough… I feel like someone stabbed my throat, cough, cough, cough…" Alan lay on the ground, twisted in pain, tears streaming from his eyes. The others had all dodged at the first possible moment, but he had just stayed where he was, inhaling too much gas while talking, causing him excruciating pain. In short, he had brought this upon himself.

"Smash the computers, cut off the network, and don't let 'Bats' transfer the data!" The vampires did as they were told and tore the computer to pieces.

Alan squinted his eyes and climbed up. Pamela had already been brought to him.

"Hand over the serum."

Pamela, looking confused, pointed at an orange-yellow potion.

"How do you prove it's a reversal serum?" a vampire jumped out and questioned.

Alan snatched the serum and stabbed it into the vampire's body.

Seeing this, Frost asked loudly, "What are you doing?"

"Proving it to you." Alan had been watching the vampire change. He seemed to be aging rapidly; his muscles were withering, his hair was falling out in clumps, and his face looked old and wrinkled.

"This is the serum for new vampires. The transformation period cannot exceed one month," Pamela reminded carefully.
