DC/Marvel: This Guy is Insane

Chapter 85: Chapter 85: An Unexpected Betrayal

Midnight.

A cargo ship slowly entered the port of Gotham City. At the dock, a crowd of vampires had been waiting for a long time. The leader of the Gotham invasion, the half-blood leader Deacon Frost, watched the freighter with eager anticipation. Beside him, a judge from the Court of Owls and more than a dozen Talons sat in waiting.

Soon, the freighter docked and lowered a staircase. A man stood on the deck, fully armed in a black and yellow battlesuit. He was the infamous Deathstroke from the mercenary world. Deathstroke's real name was Slade Wilson, and he was well-known in the industry for his unwavering promise: as long as you paid him, he would do the job. Of course, Deathstroke's business scope was vast, including bodyguard work, assassinations, arrests, and other high-risk missions.

"Thirteen pureblood vampires, all of the required viscount rank, without exception." Deathstroke pointed at a container, and his men quickly opened the hatch. Inside were thirteen wooden coffins. Frost gave his men a look, and the vampires, wearing rubber gloves and holding steel crowbars, pried open the coffins one by one.

The coffins were filled with soil. The purpose of the soil was to block out sunlight. Moreover, each of the thirteen princes had his own territory, and using the soil from that territory to cover the coffin of a pureblood of their lineage would keep them asleep. For purebloods with long lifespans, they sometimes grew tired of the world and chose to sleep in the earth, waiting for the advent of a new era before returning to the world. If too many purebloods were to wander the world, the number of vampires would surely increase dramatically, thus attracting the attention of many terrifying beings. Even though the ancestor Lilith was considered a New God, there was more than one New God in the world. Moreover, the Old Gods of the Council of Gods had to be taken into consideration. On the surface, they did not interfere in human affairs, but you could never be sure that they would not eventually show their divine power. Secondly, the sealing of the blood clan was to preserve the flame of the clan's continuation. If the Blood Clan was on the verge of extinction or needed to restore its numbers, the dormant purebloods could be awakened to complete the task.

A half-blood roughly reached into the soil and pulled up a pureblood who was bound in silver shackles. Silver could only cause a burning effect on the surface of vampires, but it was not enough to cause fatal damage. At the same time, it had the effect of sealing the magic of vampires for purebloods. There were pureblood mages among them, but unfortunately, they were rare. They mainly needed to be transformed through the promise of the ancestor, and the medium was the ancestor's blood. After all, Lilith could not bleed endlessly without causing her own power to decline, so it was stipulated that the thirteen princes were allowed to recommend one person every year.

"Despicable half-blood, stop your foolish behavior." The imprisoned pureblood instantly woke up, and when he saw the half-blood in front of him, his expression immediately became angry and ferocious. In the eyes of purebloods, half-bloods were slaves and could be converted and produced as many as needed. He suddenly realized that he had been kidnapped by slaves, and anger surged in his heart.

Bang, bang, bang…

The half-blood grinned and kept hitting him on the head with the crowbar.

"That's enough," Frost stopped him. "Don't kill the sacrifice." A living pureblood was needed to perform the ritual. If he were really beaten to death, Frost would have to wait another month or so to capture another one, and he couldn't wait. The longer the delay, the more unfavorable the situation would become.

The half-blood stopped his beating and spat at the dying pureblood with disdain. He looked bloody and mangled, but for a pureblood with strong healing abilities, it would all be healed in less than an hour.

Bang!

A flash of fire exploded at the anchor that fixed the freighter, directly cutting the fiber hemp rope. Suddenly, the entire freighter began to drift toward the port. The sudden change caused everyone present to draw their weapons and prepare for battle. They stuffed the purebloods back into their coffins as quickly as possible.

Frost said solemnly, "Keep an eye on the sacrifice." The thirteen purebloods were his dearest treasures, and now the only thing missing was the main sacrifice before the Blood God Ritual could be performed.

"Pay me the balance. I won't get involved in your affairs," Deathstroke said in a deep voice. To be clear, he was only responsible for capturing the vampires and had no reason to help his employer fight off the enemy. Now that the people and the goods had been cleared, he didn't want to stay in Gotham for long. After all, why mess with Batman if you didn't have to?

"The money has been transferred to the designated account."

The judge of the Court of Owls proposed, "One hundred million to hire you to catch Blade."

"Deal," Deathstroke agreed immediately. As long as he was paid, he would do anything except kill himself and his family.

Thwip…

The next moment, he drew his sword and cut down an incoming arrow. At some point, three figures had appeared on the deck. It was Bruce and his team. They had taken control of the freighter's cockpit ahead of time, hoping to move the battlefield away from Gotham and thwart the opponent's conspiracy in one fell swoop.

"Get them!" For a moment, the two sides started fighting. Oliver used his superb archery skills and freezing arrows to restrain the Talon Legion. Eric started slaughtering the vampires. A garlic smoke bomb forced them to retreat. They had put on breathing masks they had prepared in advance and had even wrapped themselves tightly in leather clothes to prevent sneak attacks from ultraviolet flash bombs.

In the center of the battlefield, Bruce and Deathstroke faced off. They came and went, their strengths equally matched. Both of them were trainees who had studied in the League of Assassins, and they had many similar fighting techniques.

As the battle raged.

Pfft!

An anesthetic dart hit Eric's neck, and he immediately became shaky. He held his sword with one hand and tried to stand up, but a strong feeling of dizziness kept invading his brain.

"Who?" Seeing this, many eyes turned toward the ship's tower, and suddenly, they found four more people.

Click.

The light came on. Alan and his Robins made a brilliant appearance.

"Alan, what are you doing?" Bruce asked angrily. He didn't believe that Alan's poor accuracy had caused him to accidentally injure a teammate. This guy had definitely done it on purpose.

"Are you very angry? Are you very mad?" Alan said proudly. "You guessed it right. I betrayed you."

Alan threw away the blowgun in his hand and shouted to the enemy, "Blade is my gift to you. How about it? Is it sincere enough?"

"Just because you were not allowed to participate in the operation, you betrayed me?" Bruce roared angrily. This guy was really crazy. He had surrendered to the enemy as soon as he disagreed with something. This move confused both the Court of Owls and the vampires. Should I be happy or worried when a powerful helper suddenly appears out of nowhere? Who knows if he will stab me in the back?

"Just be more normal, please!" Bruce cursed angrily for the first time. The day before, he had still believed that Alan was righteous, but within three days, he had been slapped in the face.

"Hehehe…" ×4

Alan and the three Robins laughed creepily together.

"'Bat-boy' is anxious. It's really funny." Joker Robin stroked the braids on his shoulders and smiled very happily. Alan had not only given him physical counseling, but he had also treated his baldness and helped him grow long, thick hair again. His receding hairline was almost reaching his forehead, and he looked more than ten years younger. So, Arthur the Clown had readily agreed to become Robin. With long, green, and thick hair, it was natural to braid it into a thick and long braid.

"Batman, be humiliated and frustrated," Penguin Robin sneered.

Riddle Robin added, "You can't save Gotham if you hide in the shadows…"
