Destiny of the destinies

Chapter 14: The Dragon

At the Royal Study Room:

King Arion Kai was seated in his ornate, carved wooden chair, a massive desk of the same carved wood situated before him. The room was vast yet silent. His temper was evident in the tense stillness that permeated the air; anyone could sense the king's fierce disposition just by observing the quiet tension of the space.

A man in his late thirties, with brown hair and yellowish eyes concealed behind glasses, sat sweating profusely. His body language betrayed his intense nervousness. Though seated, his mind was clearly on edge.

"Rovel."

"Yes, yes, Your Majesty," he answered with a wimp.

"What about the report?..." He asked calmly, a composure that everyone recognized as the chilling quiet before a storm.

"They are on their way, Your Majesty," Rovel muttered.

'Please come quickly before this dragon eats you alive!' Rovel pleaded to whoever listened.

"So I should wait for them, is that what you are saying?"

'Definitely, the dragon is going to eat us today.'

"Your... Majesty, that I..."

Knock Knock

'Thank Goddess, we are saved!'

"Your Majesty, they are here," Rovel cheerfully said. "Should I call them?"

"What's the reason for your happiness, Rovel?"

"No... Nothing, nothing at all, Your Majesty."

'At this rate, should I shed some of my tears for the dragon's mercy?'

"Let them in," Arion ordered.

"Yes, yes, Your Majesty."

"Enter."

A man in a royal Knight uniform, with orange long hair and brown eyes, entered. He appeared to be in his mid-thirties.

"Greeting, Your Majesty..."

"Speak."

"Yes, Your Majesty..... So apparently, Baron Aspenle did a fraud, he didn't send his second daughter who received her power today, but the elder daughter Liliyana, who is one year older than her, also......"

Hours later in the corridor of the study room

A woman in her thirties, wearing a white gown, moved with graceful steps. She had magenta pink hair and striking mint green eyes.

Queen Rowena was renowned for her kindness. Anyone who caught sight of her was instantly mesmerized by her beauty and her gentle smile. She was the kind of person who always greeted others back, radiating warmth and compassion, even though she didn't need to as a queen.

She is kind, but she is more terrifying than the dragon himself .

People often believed she tamed the dragon with her kindness, and while that was true, the leas she kept on him were known to nobody but her closest confidante—Rita.

Rita, a petite woman with chocolate bangs and salmon-colored eyes, knew the Queen intimately. More than just the Queen's personal maid, they were childhood friends.

"Rita."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"Today the weather is so nice, what do you think?"

"Indeed, Your Majesty."

'That means the storm is nearby. Oh, Goddess, have mercy on that poor soul whoever they are.'

"I hope the food is warm."

"Yes, Your Majesty." Rita sighed

' Make the dragon mad you may survive but making the tammer mad means death or maybe worse than death. Goddess help those poor souls.'
