Chapter 233: Pay attention.
Jeanne and the others watched the war between the demons and the Angels with the help of the Gods. It was almost a one-sided war because the Gods couldn't deal with the demons and the Primordials had trouble dealing with the Dukes. The army of Angels was single-handedly taken care of by Lilith since she was strong enough to deal with a thousand of them.
Lucifer was no longer could be seen, but they could see the fight between him against Farbauti, Erebus, and Rod on the edge of the horizon. It was a fierce and destructive fight so they decided to take the fight somewhere else.
They noticed there was one Primordial being that didn't join the war, and it was Baduhenna. She was casually watching on the side and only swung her sword when there was a demon or two that came to attack her.
"Jeanne, aren't you itchy to fight?" Aurea asked.
"I'm not itchy, but I don't like to see Mara here with us. I want to kill her right away," Jeanne answered as she stared at Mara who protected Sasha.
"Ask Elena's permission. We also want to fight," Aurea suggested as she glanced at Jeanne. Experience exclusive tales on My Virtual Library Empire
Jeanne looked at the others and they all nodded their heads in agreement. She then went to the altar to meet with Elena, and she saw Magnus sitting next to Nal. She was confused at first, but then she realized he was no longer Magnus, but Odin who had taken his body.
"What's the matter?" Elena asked Jeanne who walked up to the altar.
"Everyone is bored, and I want to kill Mara," Jeanne answered as she looked at Mykel talking with Nal near the pond.
"Alright, but don't touch Sasha," Elena nodded her head with understanding.
Jeanne nodded her head and looked at Mykel before she left and informed the others. On her way back she noticed that Loki was nowhere to be found and wondered where she was.
Mara and Uriel were protecting Sasha, but then they noticed Jeanne and the others had finally made a move. They looked at Aurea and the others went to join the war between the Angels and the Demons. But then they saw Jeanne walk toward them on her own, and that was enough to make them wary of her.
"She's coming for us," Uriel said as she kept staring at Jeanne.
"Protect Sasha. I'll handle her on my own," Mara said as she walked toward Jeanne.
Uriel hummed and then looked at Sasha who hadn't activated the Caveat Scroll inside her. She wondered why it took so long for her to activate it since it shouldn't take a while.
"By looking at the way you're staring at me, looks like your objective is me and not Sasha," Mara said as she covered herself in Void Clouds.
Jeanne unsheathed her sword without saying a single word and then readied her stance. She had no reason to talk, and she wasn't the type who talked during a fight in the first place.
"How cold," Mara scoffed as she created a Void Sword from the clouds around her. It was long and thin like a needle. "I'm glad that you decided to fight me, so show me what you got," Mara said as she swung her sword and then flew toward Jeanne as she covered herself in Void Clouds.
Jeanne activated her [Maestro], [Divine Aura], and lastly her [Austerity] skills. She dashed forward and slashed the cloud that tried to devour her. She then casually walked out of the clouds and then swung her sword down to get rid of the blood that looked like water.
The Void Clouds dispersed and then Mara came out of it as she staggered to try to stand properly. She was in disbelief when half of her face and down to her chest got cut off. She was confused as to how Jeanne managed to hurt her even though she didn't actually have a physical body inside the Void Clouds.
"How?!" Mara turned around and she covered her face with her left hand.
Jeanne didn't say a word and readied her stance again, and this time she was the one who initiated the attack. Her attack seemed weak compared to all the Gods since it didn't make a mess of her surroundings as she swung her sword, but whenever it made contact with Mara's sword, it was enough to break it.
Mara tried to use her Void Clouds as weapons, but the moment Jeanne cut the clouds, it hurt her body. She then realized how powerful Jeanne actually was, and that with every manipulation power she had, it wouldn't work against Jeanne.
Mara didn't have a choice but to bring her realm down to Earth, the Void realm. Everyone was dragged into her realm and was confused by it, and then half of them were devoured by the Void Clouds. Angels, Demons, Gods, and even Primordials and Cosmicals, their powers were absorbed and turned into hers.
Some managed to escape, and some were helpless and disappeared as their powers were being turned into fuel for Mara's power. Knowing how dangerous it was, Shelly used her [Inanity] skill and reversed the power before it got out of hand. She already knew the formula for Mara's power and it didn't take a while until she broke the Void realm.
Those who were devoured couldn't be revived because their souls had been taken. Although Mara gained a lot of power, she knew it didn't matter in front of Jeanne. She didn't care about her getting a lot of power from absorbing the lives of those beings around her. All she cared about was to put herself in the Void realm to make herself invincible, but Shelly stopped her from doing that.
"Sasha, you need to hurry!" Uriel said as she looked at Sasha.
"Why are you in a rush?" Nal asked with her eyebrows raised. "Let's just enjoy the moment," Nal said with a smirk and in an instant trapped Uriel in eternal ice.
Uriel broke the ice immediately, but then she noticed there was another presence behind her. She saw Elena standing in front of Sasha and stared at her with curiosity. When Uriel was about to teleport her and Sasha away, Beldathiel hugged her from behind.
"I'm not going to let you go this time," Beldathiel said as she used her [Inertia] skill and made all the weight on Earth become hers. She weighed more than Earth itself and it was enough to put Uriel down to the ground.
Mara noticed that Sasha was in danger, but Jeanne prevented her from going out of her sight. Jeanne didn't plan on letting her go and kept attacking her until she could cut Mara's head off.
Lucifer who was busy dealing with the unbeatable and undefeatable Erebus and Farbauti with Rod's help noticed that Sasha was being attacked. His third eye could see the universe without him having to look in that direction, and at that moment he immediately used everything he got on his next punch.
Lucifer punched Farbauti and his punch was enough to make Farbauti's and Erebus' existences disintegrate. Rod who watched from the distance was shocked, and before he knew it, Lucifer was already putting his fist in Rod's chest.
The moment Erebus died, the darkness in the universe had been lifted. The sun that was bright enough in the eyes of humans was nothing compared to the light that beamed on Earth. It was so bright that demons who weren't born from The Lord's light instantly turned into ashes.
All the beings were bothered by the light because it was so bright and it made them all dizzy and lost all their energy. Jeanne and the others were affected by the light as well, but not the Angels or the Fallen Angels.
"The true Lord's light," Mykel said as he looked up. "Your light alone is enough to put everyone down," Mykel added as he looked at everyone affected by the light.
Lucifer landed and saw Elena standing in front of Sasha, but she didn't do anything to her.
"What are you doing?" Lucifer asked as he looked at Elena.
"Is she yours in the first place? I don't think I need your permission to do whatever I want to her," Elena answered as she looked at Lucifer's third eye.
"Mykel promised me that he won't get involved and let me have her," Lucifer said as he slowly walked toward Elena.
"That promise is with Mykel and he was the one who make that deal with you. Did he ever say that he and his team won't interfere with you?" Elena asked with her eyebrows raised.
Lucifer stopped and realized he had been fooled once again by Mykel's words.
"You need to pay a lot of attention whenever you're making a deal with him. No matter what kind of deal you make with him, he'll be the only one who gets the benefits," Elena smirked as she grabbed Sasha's head.
