Chapter 242: Paradox.
"Mykel, can we have a talk?" Elena asked as she looked at Mykel while she kept holding Mykel's hand.
Mykel nodded and then Elena warped him to the Empyrean World. When Elena and Mykel arrived, Elena noticed the grave, and when she looked at the gravestone, she held Mykel's hand tightly.
"She's..." Elena paused as she looked at Sasha's grave.
"Yes. That's what she wanted," Mykel answered as he nodded his head. "She has found peace, and I'm going to protect it forever," Mykel continued.
Elena hummed and didn't make any expressions, and then she brought Mykel into the cabin.
"Sit down," Elena said as she looked at the bed.
It was the first time someone had given him an order, and he knew that Elena was still angry about his plans. He then sat down on the bed while Elena kept holding his hand and didn't want to let go.
"What do you think of me?" Elena asked as she stood right in front of Mykel and looked down at him.
"My everything, both you and little Sasha," Mykel answered as he looked into Elena's eyes. Your next chapter awaits on My Virtual Library Empire
"And yet you decided to sacrifice yourself even though back then you said that your life isn't yours to decide anymore. Was that a lie? Did you say that so you can catch me off guard later on and force me to accept the plan since it would be already too late?" Elena asked as she started to squeeze Mykel's hand.
"I have no excuse," Mykel answered.
"Answer me! Was that a lie?!" Elena started to raise her voice.
"At that time, no. But you're right about the last two parts," Mykel answered.
It was just silence and a tear fell to Mykel's right cheek, and he didn't know what to say. He could only watch Elena cry with anger, disappointment, and sadness toward him.
"Tell me, am I a burden to you? Does my existence affect your judgement? If that's the case, I don't want to live where you have to sacrifice yourself for me," Elena said as her hand started to get frozen cold. "Maybe, if I didn't exist you would have achieved greatness and everyone would live happily," Elena continued as her body started to tremble.
"That might be true," Mykel answered as he looked at Elena's pale face. "But I don't want to live in a world where you don't exist," Mykel added and slowly pulled Elena toward him and gently let her sit on his lap.
"If you gave up on your life, I have no reason to stay anymore because you're the only thing that matters to me," Mykel said as he looked Elena in the eyes. "If you die today, I'll follow you right away and leave everyone behind," Mykel continued with a serious expression.
Elena looked at Mykel with her red eyes, and then slowly leaned toward him and hugged him. Her body started to get warm again as she tightly wrapped her arms around his head.
They didn't say anything, only hugged each other until Elena calmed down. Since it had been a long day, everyone was given time to rest as they waited until Amaryllis got something from her experiment.
Mykel was sleeping with Lyneth, Elena, Hera, and little Sasha for the first time. It was like a big happy family and the others were using their time to make themselves stronger.
"Vincze, I want to try something after giving it some thought, so come with me for a second," Bhatmelec said as she looked at Vincze who was enjoying the food with Sven and the boys.
Vincze nodded and followed Bhatmelec to an open space, and then Bhatmelec unsheathed her sword. Everyone looked at them from the distance and wondered what she was trying to do and why she needed Vincze for that.
"I have been thinking that if this works, I think we both will be able to stop him," Bhatmelec said said she swung her sword around.
"Okay, what do you want me to do?" Vincze asked and he wasn't convinced by Bhatmelec's words.
"Try and use your skill on me," Bhatmelec answered.
Vincze used his [Sagacious] skill on Bhatmelec and the moment he could predict all kinds of outcomes from fighting her, both he and Bhatmelec collapsed. Everyone who watched those two collapse at the same time immediately ran toward them to check what had happened to them.
Both Bhatmelec and Vincze were shaking and the veins in their eyes popped, making their eyes bleed. They were so confused, but the moment those two stood back up, they both looked at each other and nodded their heads.
"That was quite a punch, doesn't it?" Bhatmelec asked with a smirk.
"You're crazy... you're fucking insane...." Vincze said as he caught his breath. "Now I understand what you mean by that, and I think if we both can endure it, we might be able to create something," Vincze added.
They both readied their stance as they took a deep breath and stared at each other. The moment those two activated their skills, they immediately screamed their lungs out as they tried to stay awake. They both started to cough blood and veins all over their bodies started to pop and finally, they both collapsed again.
Their screams woke Mykel up and checked what those screams were about. Elena, Hera, Lyneth, and little Sasha followed him outside and saw everyone gathered around Vincze and Bhatmelec.
Nobody knew what had happened, but Mykel could see it, the faint existence of multiple realities that appeared around those two. He already knew what those two were trying to do, and he was interested in what they were doing.
"Let them be, don't stop them," Mykel said as he looked at the others who tried to help those two. "They're trying to achieve something that The Lord did," Mykel continued with his arms crossed.
"What's happening?! What are they trying to do?!" Rozan asked as he looked at Mykel.
"They're trying to create a paradox. Casuality paradox where those two clash their skills to predict and read the future. If those two can see all the possible outcomes and predict them, it forces them to predict of prediction of the future. It will create a complex web of causation that's difficult to unravel," Mykel explained as he looked at those two. "Right now, their predictions are still ongoing in multiple realities, finding the one true future after clashing their skills," Mykel continued.
Everyone looked at Vincze and Bhatmelec who were trying to stand up and they both were determined to find that true future.
"Vincze, Bhatmelec..." Mykel paused as he walked toward them and stood on the side. "If you both succeeded, I owe you my life," Mykel said as he looked at them with a serious expression.
Everyone was shocked as they looked at Mykel with their eyes and mouths wide open. Nobody would expect him to say something like that and they knew him very well that he wouldn't say such a thing so lightly. He never owed anyone except to Hera and Lyneth, and he protected those two previously.
"Why is it that important for those two to succeed in whatever they're trying to do?" Aurea asked with her arms crossed and eyebrows furrowed as she looked at Mykel on the other side.
"You might not understand this now, but I'll explain it to you," Nal said as she stood right behind Aurea. "Do you know what paradox means? I believe you know that well enough," Nal continued.
Everyone looked at Nal and listened to what she was going to say.
"So, just imagine if those two could create such paradoxical like what The Lord did. If they can create an infinite loop of an event and can manipulate that event until they can manipulate other paradox events, what do you think they can do with that ability?" Nal asked as she looked at them.
"Wait!" Rozan barged in and looked at Nal with his eyes wide open. "Are you telling me if they both can cut the loop, they will be able to cut the origin of The Lord?" Rozan asked with his eyebrows raised.
"If the infinite loop can be cut off, that means there will be an end and there will also be a beginning," Nal nodded her head in agreement. "That's enough to make him no longer omnipotent about his own existence. That's what those two are trying to achieve," Nal added.
