Destroying My Own World

Chapter 310: Went smoothly.

Tristan went to the front of the main palace and noticed that Ariel was nowhere to be found near the entrance. He looked at the one who had replaced Ariel and wanted to ask him about Ariel's whereabouts, but before he could open his mouth, a loud alarm was rung.

"He's here! The assassin is here!" A man screamed on the radio, informing everyone.

Tristan knew that his main priority was Elestria and Elysande's safety, so he went inside the main palace, bringing a few of them with him. The rest were sent to the front to deal with the assassin, and they had prepared to die for their queen.

"Devlin, hear me out," Tristan said on the phone as he hurriedly went to Elestria's office. "The assassin is here, we need your help," he continued and he sounded anxious.

"Don't worry. Aleric is here with me and we are on our way there," Devlin responded. "We will be there in three minutes, hang in there!" he added and then hung up the phone.

Devlin informed his guild members and Aleric about what had happened and since they had prepared everything a while ago, they all went straight to the palace. They came faster than they expected and only took them two minutes since they stayed in the nearest hotel.

When they arrived, the gate into the imperial palace area had been busted open with bodies lying on the ground. Some of them were dying and some were dead, so they sent some of their members to take care of the wounded and the dead.

Aleric looked at the garden and saw it had been completely frozen and some bodies as well. On the other side, a blazing purple flame burned the glasshouse with people heavily injured leaning on the fountain.

"If the Zero Tiers are like that, do you think we can handle this guy?" A woman with short hair asked.

"We don't have time to worry. Her Majesty is in danger and her safety is our priority," Devlin responded as he ran toward the main palace. "We need to stay focused and we need to move faster," he added.

All of them nodded and ran as fast as they could to the main palace in the far back of the imperial area.

When they saw the main palace, that was when they saw how bad the situation there was. The entrance to the main palace was ruined with a big hole and dead bodies and body parts scattered on the ground. It was as bad as what the media depicted. They never thought there would be anyone that strong and inhuman at the same time.

"Let's go!" Devlin shouted, making everyone snap back to reality.

They all entered the palace and that was when the ground trembled fiercely, making everyone fall to the ground. They wondered what it was, but they knew it came from above, and so they all hurriedly stood up and went to the second floor.

Aleric was the first one to reach the fifth floor and saw Tristan lying on the ground on the brink of death. He sent the healer to take care of him, but it was hard to believe when the healer saw that Tristan's chest was ripped open.

"Her Majesty... I beg you..." Tristan said weakly with blood coming out of his mouth as he looked at Aleric with his eyes barely open.

Aleric nodded and followed the blood trail with Devlin and the others. When they saw the long hallway and a big door at the end of the hallway, they knew it was where Elestria was.

They ran as fast as they could, but suddenly something flew across them that they didn't even see coming. They turned around and saw a head hitting the wall and breaking into pieces. They had no idea who it was since the face was deformed and unrecognizable, but they could see the white hair on the head.

"That..." Devlin paused to check on the head. He saw the white hair and the eyes that were the same as what the media described. "This is the assassin's head," he pointed out in disbelief.

"What?!" Aleric hurriedly went and checked it with his own two eyes. "He... died?" he was in disbelief as well.

"So that's where it went," Mykel's voice could be heard from the distance.

Everyone turned around and saw Mykel walking out of the corner with a headless body that he dragged onto the floor. They were convinced that the head they saw was the assassin's head and that Mykel was the one who killed him.

"We meet again," Mykel said as he looked at Devlin and Aleric. "Thank you for coming here, but you're not needed," he continued as he walked past them and grabbed the head on the ground.

"Her Majesty! How is she?!" The woman asked with a worried expression.

"It's a confidential information. You will have to wait, and that also means the thing you saw in here has to be kept secret," Mykel answered as he looked at the face that was no longer recognizable. "I have remembered all your faces, and if somehow the information was leaked and you exposed who I am, just hope you can run and hide for the rest of your life," he warned and then walked away.

Everyone was frozen still and held their breath because of the pressure of Mykel's words alone. Their eyes were fixated on his back and the body and head that he carried. At that moment they realized who they should fear and avoid in the future.

They didn't want to get involved in the situation anymore and decided to help the wounded. They were surprised when Tristan's wound healed and couldn't believe a ripped chest where they could see his lungs and heart were closed. They didn't know about Tristan's power that could manipulate blood and the tissues of his own body, making him close to immortality.

The situation had been resolved and the people of Faelethria Kingdom knew about what had happened. They were praying to Gods that Elestria would be alive and unharmed.

"Good work, Mykel. You have done it again," Elestria said the moment Mykel entered the throne room. "You made a perfect scapegoat and I'm unharmed. There's nothing better than that and I didn't expect your plan to go so smoothly," she added.

"It's not over yet, Your Highness," Mykel said as he looked at Ariel's dead body. "We need to make everyone believe that this is a demon and not a human," he pointed out.

"I can handle that much. You have done your part, and you should get some rest," Elestria responded.

Mykel bowed down and then left the room and went straight back to his room.

Mykel removed his suit and shirt as he grabbed a bottle of vodka from the table. Before he could even drink his vodka, someone knocked on the door, and it was Elysande who knocked. He opened the door and it made her fluster when she saw him naked for the third time.

"What can I do for you, My Lady?" Mykel asked as he fixed his messy hair.

"I'm here to thank you for not harming Her Majesty because she was ready to lose a limb or two for this," Elysande answered and didn't have the courage to look up.

"I promised that I won't hurt Her Highness, and I also promised to protect her and you as well, My Lady. Those are my words, and my words are worth anything in this world," Mykel said with a gentle smile.

"You said that you were the one who felt honored by serving us, but now I realize that I'm the one who feels honored for having you here, Mykel. I'm thankful for that and I mean it," Elysande said and looked at Mykel. "I apologize if I'm bothering your resting time. I will take my leave now," she continued as she took a few steps back.

"Goodnight, My Lady," Mykel said.

"Goodnight, Mykel," Elysande smiled and then left.

Mykel watched Elysande leave hurriedly because he knew she was nervous and wanted to stop pretending as soon as possible. He then closed the door and enjoyed the night with a bottle of vodka in his hand.

"What are you planning to do with that essence, Mykel?" Aevia asked as she was sitting at the window, blocking the moonlight.

"What do you mean?" Mykel asked back and poured the vodka into the glass.

"Are you going to bring her back to life and try to bring her to your side just like what you always did?" Aevia responded.

Mykel grabbed the essence and looked at it as he rolled it over in his hand. He was quiet for a few seconds, and then he shook his head and put the essence back in his pocket.

"No. I don't need her or the others," Mykel answered. "I want to be alone right now because I'm enjoying this," he added.

Aevia didn't say anything and stared at him without showing any expression. On the other hand, she showed Elena, Sasha, and Amaryllis what Mykel thought about his situation.

Suddenly, she smiled underneath the white cloth.

"I know you're going to enjoy this," Aevia said.

"Don't get me wrong," Mykel said and stared at Aevia. "I don't need them because I can handle this on my own, but that doesn't mean I want to forget my own creation. I want to see them again, especially Elena. So I hope you don't treat her badly," he added.

"Of course..." Aevia responded.
