Destroying My Own World

Chapter 317: Notorious Criminals.

"I know you just came back, but I need to know what happened during your conversation with Melissa," Elestria said as she looked at Mykel who had just entered her chamber since it was in the middle of the night.

"She will do whatever Your Highness ordered her to do. She's thankful for the help and for saving Zachary," Mykel answered and didn't dare to look at Elestria who was in her almost see-through sleeping dress. "She will come to pay a visit once Zachary recovered to show her gratitude," he added.

Elestria smiled and chuckled to show her satisfaction because she had Melissa in her hands now. A single congresswoman would be enough to take over the Verdentia Republic.

"You have done so many great feats, Mykel. I would be shameless if I didn't reward you plentifully. Now tell me what you want," Elestria said as she hugged her left leg and rested her left cheek on her knee.

"My apologies, Your Highness. I can't think of anything right now because I'm distracted by something else," Mykel answered and kept staring at the wall in front of him.

Elestria slowly smiled and put down her left leg, letting her body be seen fully by Mykel. She wanted to test him, and so she got up from the bed and showed her body where the dress was barely covering her crotch.

"Were you having an indecent thought?" Elestria asked as she walked toward Mykel with her eyebrows raised.

Mykel closed his eyes and didn't say anything, but he could tell that Elestria was getting closer and closer. He knew she was teasing him and tried to test him out, but what she didn't realize was that she was fooling herself, pretending that she wasn't interested in him.

"A man will be a man, Your Highness," Mykel said with his eyes still closed. "If you think I won't carry you back to the bed and lie on top of you, you're wrong," he said and glanced at Elestria's eyes from the corner of his eyes.

Elestria stopped moving, but it was already too late because she was already standing beside Mykel. She was afraid that Mykel would do what he warned her to do, and her chest was pounding so fast.

"Good night, Your Highness. Have a sweet dream," Mykel said and then left.

Elestria was baffled that Mykel didn't do what he warned her to, and deep down she felt rejected. She had mixed feelings of fear, anger, disappointment, and relief at the same time. She didn't know what to feel, and so she went back to bed, thinking about what had happened until she fell asleep.

It hadn't been a week, but the same thing happened in Dystrovia nation, the eleventh rift was opened. This time, nobody was prepared for it and nobody dared to even try after knowing how terrifying it was to fight a demon like Alion and Sinestra.

Elestria was walking in the hallway with Melissa who came to show her gratitude and to repay Elestria's grace. Suddenly, Elestria stopped walking when she saw Mykel and Elysande in the garden laughing, and how Elysande touched Mykel's arm, showing how close they were. The world looked like it belonged to those two and didn't care about anything else.

"I have never seen Lady Elysande look so happy like that," Melissa said.

"Me neither," Elestria responded and started to understand the feeling inside her, the jealousy and anxiety.

Melissa and Zachary looked at Mykel and realized what kind of play he was playing. An alpha lion was brought into a big jungle where only two lionesses existed. The outcome had been decided and everyone would know what would happen to the lionesses.

Elysande noticed that Melissa was with Elestria, and so she hurriedly approached her. She hadn't shown her condolences to Melissa, so she hugged her tightly while Mykel was standing behind Elysande and ignored Elestria's gaze toward him.

"I thought you would be in Dystrovia right now," Mykel looked at Zachary.

"As you have heard, there isn't a single team that wants to clear the rift. Rexor's death brought the whole nation down with him, it's quite a mess over there right now, so I believe that's the reason why," Zachary answered as he looked at the palaces in the distance. "What about you?" he asked back.

"The decision isn't mine to make," Mykel answered as he put a cigarette in his mouth and leaned against the pillar. "But we will see," he added.

Elestria, Elysande, and Melissa were discussing the plans for the relationship between the Faelethria Kingdom and the Verdentia Republic. Mykel and Zachary weren't present because it was a private matter and Mykel preferred to stick with him rather than join them even though he could.

"I know I have been living in luxury, but compared to this... this is something else," Zachary said as he looked at the whole room filled with expensive drinks. "And you said that you can drink all of this every day? Unbelievable," he added.

"No matter how luxurious any items are, if you get used to it, it's not luxury anymore," Mykel said as he poured a glass of whiskey. "I'm more curious about that Javelin woman. Is there anyone else like you two?" he asked and offered the glass to Zachary.

Zachary took his time before he answered Mykel's question as he took a sip of the whiskey.

"As far as I know, there isn't anyone with a lot of achievements like Javelin and I. Achievements are so rare, and I believe you know about that, but I know some people," Zachary answered as he stared blankly at the glass he held. "Do you know about the Jailbird's island? The Isola Key Island?" he looked at Mykel.

Mykel nodded his head as he smoked his cigarette.

Isola Key Island or people called it Jailbird's Island where notorious criminals from three nations were imprisoned. Those criminals did something beyond inhuman and they were sent there to die. It could be called an island where supervillains lived if they lived inside a novel world.

"Lady Melissa's late father was interested in someone from that island. His name is Sabel Salvage, a once-psychiatrist, a scientist, and an inventor. A genius among his peers, and he was eighteen years old when he was sent to Isola Key Island for experimenting on human beings, turned them into brainless assassins with God knows superhuman bodies long before this situation came to our world," Zachary explained. "I heard he became one of the five leaders in Isola Key Island. The other four are Sophia Serpent, Duncan Labyrinth, Felix Specter, and lastly Victoria Tyrant. Those five are to be said received achievements from the Gods and are currently at war, proving who's the true leader," he added.

Mykel's eyes were empty and Zachary noticed that.

"You're not thinking of bringing them here, aren't you?" Zachary asked with his eyebrows furrowed.

"As I said..." Mykel paused as he stood up. "It's not mine to decide, but if Her Highness allowed me to bring them here, I would bring them here," he continued.

Mykel left the room and Zachary didn't have a choice but to follow him to persuade him that it wasn't a good idea. Those people were super villains and nothing good would come out if they were out of the island. But it was futile because Mykel ignored his reasoning and went straight to Elestria's office.

Mykel barged into the office and startled the three of them who were enjoying their tea. They looked at Zachary who looked anxious, and then they looked at Mykel with a cigarette in his mouth, staring at Elestria.

"Your Highness, allow me to go to the Isola Key Island," Mykel said without hesitation.

They were surprised when they heard Isola Key Island's name and suddenly Mykel requested to go there out of the blue.

"What for?" Elestria asked.

"To subdue the potential partner for me," Mykel answered.

Elestria glanced at Elysande and she saw how shocked Elysande was and realized that Elysande had nothing to do with it. She then looked at Zachary and noticed that it might be because of the conversation they had. She thought about it and how risky it was to bring notorious criminals to the Faelethria Kingdom, but if Mykel did manage to subdue them, it only brought more power for her. She also knew about Melissa's late father wanting to bring Sabel Salvage to the Verdentia Kingdom but was prevented by the congress.

"Take this," Elestria grabbed a seal from her pocket and then tossed it to Mykel. "Nobody would stop you from entering the island with that," she added.

Mykel looked at the same symbol on his suit, the seal of the Queen of Faelethria.

"Thank you, Your Highness," Mykel bowed his head and then left the room, leaving Elysande, Zachary, and Melissa in shock.

"Zach. Join him," Melissa looked at Zachary. "I believe it would be more fun for you to accompany him than stay here. But, that's if Her Majesty gives her permission," she looked at Elestria.

"Go. Mykel might need your help," Elestria nodded her head.

Zachary bowed his head and hurriedly left to catch up on Mykel.

"You know the island is bigger than Faelethria Kingdom. How are you going to subdue them all?" Zachary asked and walked alongside Mykel.

"I don't need all of them. I just need those five," Mykel answered. "They're at war, and none of them are on friendly terms as you said. It would be an easy task if we just attack them one by one," he added.

"What if they realized that you're a threat and decided to band together?" Zachary asked.

"That would be more fun," Mykel answered and started smiling.
