Mu Tianyuan felt that the little fox was simply too unlikable. It actually didn't tell him such important news, almost causing him to collapse. He almost decided to live out his remaining days in the Detective Conan world!
"I just found out about this too!" The little fox, held up in front of Mu Tianyuan, rolled its eyes at him and replied. Then, as the little fox explained, Mu Tianyuan finally understood that the little fox was as muddled as he was before. It was only when he secretly longed to go home that the little fox suddenly, for some unknown reason, knew that Mu Tianyuan could return to his original world. As for why she knew, in the little fox's words, she didn't know why either; she just knew.
After explaining, the little fox glared at Mu Tianyuan and said, "Can you put me down now? You pervert!"
"Huh?" Mu Tianyuan, who was happy about finally being able to go home, was a little stunned by the little fox's nickname for him. Then he said, bewildered, "How did I become a pervert? What do you mean by that?"
Damn it, what did I do to be called a pervert? I'm such a proper person. I've never known sensei Muto, sensei Aoi, Koigawa Reiko, Kyoka, JULIA, Mizuno Asahi, Kojima Tsune, and others. So how am I a pervert now?
"Don't you think holding me like this is embarrassing? You can't assume I'm wearing clothes just because I have fur, okay!" The little fox snarled at Mu Tianyuan, hugging its fluffy tail.
"Uh..." Hearing the little fox's words, Mu Tianyuan didn't know how to respond to this outrageous topic for a moment. Finally, as he put the little fox down, he said awkwardly and apologetically, "I'm sorry. I forgot you'd be exposed like this. But, you're a fox, are you really afraid of that?"
"Don't take me for an ordinary fox. This fox has thoroughly studied the Four Books and Five Classics. How could I not understand propriety, righteousness, integrity, and shame? Next time you dare to hold me like that, believe it or not, I'll pee on your face?" The little fox rolled its eyes at Mu Tianyuan and replied angrily.
Mu Tianyuan: "…You really do understand propriety, righteousness, integrity, and shame…"
"Of course!" The little fox rolled its eyes at Mu Tianyuan, then said angrily, "And you, you idiot, don't you know about telepathic communication? Do you know that the woman next to you is looking at you as if she's seeing a snake demon sick in the head?"
"Uh…" If the previous topic was hard for Mu Tianyuan to respond to, now sweat began to trickle down his face. After slowly turning his head to look at Eri Kisaki, Mu Tianyuan had to admit that the little fox's observational skills were truly impressive. Just as she said, Eri Kisaki was indeed looking at him with the concerned gaze of someone looking at a sick person…
After a long silence, Mu Tianyuan smiled at Eri Kisaki and asked, "Aunt Eri, what did you think of my performance just now?"
"Huh?" Eri Kisaki was stunned upon hearing this. She had originally thought the child was ill and was wondering whether to send him to the hospital or just arrange a bed for him. But now she was hearing that the child was performing? The problem was, what was he performing?
"Hehe, congratulations, you're no longer a snake demon sick in the head. You've upgraded to a dork," the little fox said, lying on Mu Tianyuan's leg and rolling its eyes.
"Thank you, your encouragement is my motivation to move forward." Knowing he could go back, Mu Tianyuan completely let go of his inner worries. With nothing bothering him, he started acting cheeky again. But thanks to him remembering that the biggest problem at hand was to fool Eri Kisaki, after thanking the little fox for its support, Mu Tianyuan smiled at Eri Kisaki and said, "Aunt Eri, you might not know this, but I've recently become obsessed with performance art."
"You're truly disappointing. I just praised you, and you immediately turned from a dork into an idiot. Your reason is so bad, anyone with an IQ as long as my tail wouldn't believe it," the little fox retorted mercilessly from the side. Meanwhile, Mu Tianyuan, while smiling at the still bewildered Eri Kisaki, used a private channel to the little fox: "What do you know? These days, saying 'performance art' can hold at least 90% of situations!"
"Wow, you're so experienced!" The little fox's watery eyes sparkled when it heard Mu Tianyuan's words. But before Mu Tianyuan could ask how it managed to do that, the little fox looked at Mu Tianyuan with an innocent expression and said, "I bet in your original world, you'd use the excuse of performance art to act dorky every now and then, right?"
"Heh heh, do you think just anyone is qualified to witness my dorkiness?" Mu Tianyuan retorted proudly, then with a wave of his hand, he smiled and said, "Oh, right, Aunt Eri, let me introduce you. This is my partner for performance art."
Little fox: "...Please don't lump me in with you, you dork who uses performance art as an excuse to act dorky!"
"Such a cute little dog!" Eri Kisaki had noticed the little fox on Mu Tianyuan's shoulder earlier, but the moment they met, before she could even exchange pleasantries with Mu Tianyuan, he seemed on the verge of death. It truly startled Eri Kisaki at the time; she couldn't care about anything else. Later, when they got in the car, Mu Tianyuan's expression seemed off, and she worried even more. But now, seeing Mu Tianyuan seemingly revitalized and introducing the little fox to her, Eri Kisaki was immediately captivated by the little fox's fluffy appearance and watery eyes.
"..." The little fox immediately wanted to snap back upon hearing Eri Kisaki's words. Fortunately, at the critical moment, the little fox remembered Mu Tianyuan's earlier instructions and managed to bite back the words that were about to spill out. In the end, the little fox could only snarl at Eri Kisaki while furiously communicating with Mu Tianyuan through their private channel: "This stupid old woman! She wears glasses just for the reflection, right? She's the dog! Her whole family are dogs! I'm telling you, if it weren't for your sake, I'd bite her to death today! Don't you dare not believe me! I really can bite her to death!"
"Yes, yes, yes, you're an old spirit, so don't stoop to her level," Mu Tianyuan said, comforting the little fox as he put it back on his lap. Then, Mu Tianyuan said to Eri Kisaki, "Aunt Eri, she's not a dog, she's a fox."
"A fox? How cute!" Eri Kisaki nodded in realization upon hearing Mu Tianyuan's words. Then, Eri Kisaki reached out to hug the little fox, but the little fox agilely dodged Eri Kisaki's outstretched hand, darting onto Mu Tianyuan's head. Then, while snarling at Eri Kisaki, it communicated with Mu Tianyuan: "Tell this stupid woman to take her claws back! If she dares to reach for me again, believe it or not, I'll bite her to death?"
"Alright, alright," Although Mu Tianyuan didn't know why the little fox, who had been chatting quite well with him, had such a strong prejudice against Eri Kisaki, he still agreed. Then he said to Eri Kisaki, "Aunt Eri, don't let her small size fool you; she's naturally fierce and very wary of strangers. Oh, right, Auntie, can we continue driving now? If we stop here any longer, the traffic police will come."
"Oh, alright." Eri Kisaki, hearing Mu Tianyuan's words, gave the little fox a slightly regretful look, then restarted the car. However, Eri Kisaki also glanced at Mu Tianyuan at this moment, somewhat worriedly. "Little Mu, are you really alright?"
"I'm fine!" Mu Tianyuan naturally knew that Eri Kisaki still hadn't bought his performance art excuse, after all, Eri Kisaki was still looking at him very strangely! But he firmly shook his head. I'm insisting I'm doing performance art. What can you do to me? If I'm not feeling well, and I'm doing performance art, you can't even send me to the hospital!
Although Eri Kisaki was still somewhat suspicious, just as Mu Tianyuan thought, Eri Kisaki truly had no recourse. Therefore, she could only drive while constantly observing Mu Tianyuan's next actions.
And Mu Tianyuan, regardless of whether Eri Kisaki believed him or not—he had, after all, fooled her—then used the private channel to say to the little fox with great anticipation, "So, if I can go back, how do I go back? Are you sending me? Or should we just go home now?"
Although he had, inexplicably, managed to come to the Detective Conan world, Mu Tianyuan had no intention of lingering. He just wanted to go home quickly now!
"It's not that easy. Just wait. The cooldown for returning to the city isn't over yet!" The little fox, squatting on Mu Tianyuan's head, wagged its tail and replied. Upon hearing that there was a cooldown, Mu Tianyuan was a little stunned. Then he tried hard to look up at the little fox on his head and asked, "How long is this cooldown? Don't tell me it's a hundred years or so. If that's the case, I guess I can only return to my roots in an urn."
"Not long, just a month. And another month after you use it." The little fox wagged its tail and replied. Then, as if afraid Mu Tianyuan was getting anxious, the little fox comforted him, "Just think of it as a business trip here. At most, it's just a bit long."
"A month is acceptable." Hearing this duration, Mu Tianyuan finally breathed a sigh of relief. Being able to go home once a month was good. Back when he went to college, especially when he joined the army, it took a long time to go home. A month was really nothing.
Since he no longer had any worries, Mu Tianyuan felt he could consider other things. For example, it seemed he hadn't formally gotten to know the little fox yet. So, as Mu Tianyuan curiously looked at the scenery outside the car window, he asked via their private channel, "Oh, right, we haven't properly introduced ourselves, have we? Let me introduce myself. My name is Mu Tianyuan. 'Mu' is the 'Mu' from 'wood falling into water'. 'Tian' is the 'Tian' from 'Sunday'. 'Yuan' is the 'Yuan' from 'going on a distant hike on Sunday'!"
