Chapter 49: Reports and Truth
It's been months since the Great Middle East Disaster as everyone calls it. The lands that used to be the Arabian Peninsula and Anatolia are changed beyond recognition.
Volcanos that erupted blanketed large swaths of territory in lava with the Earthquake causing cracks to fill the land.
The Ottoman Empire wasn't the only Nation to suffer and be erased of the map. The British Colonial holdings in the Arabian Peninsula also had to be evacuated as it too fell to the natural world. The Kingdom of Najd had also fallen victim as it was a client state to the Ottomans, even if it was just in name, the Kingdom also perished.
Scientists scrambled to find the cause of this disaster and the only explanation they could give is that the epicenter of the Earthquake was where the Anatolian and Arabian Tectonic Plates met. The ensuing catastrophe was the result.
But Anastasia knows the real truth, it's not some geo activity that caused this but the meddling of Demonic Spirits.
The People of the Fallen Nations that fell due to the Earthquake are now Nationless. The pain and grief is immense as their homes got swallowed by the Earth or drowned in magma.
The World had sent rescue services to save anyone they can and they did. Russia contributed the most as it already had troops within due to the war.
The Refugees that Russia saved are split up.
Greeks and any Natives of the Middle East such as the Assyrians are send to the Ukrainian Governorate via Crimea.
The large population of Armenians in the East of Anatolia are sent within the Armenian Sub-Governorate of the Caucasian Governorate.
The Turks, who are the largest of the people are sent to the Central Asian Governorate as the people of the Governorate are mostly of Turkic Origins so that the Ottoman Turks can adjust to their new homes.
The other nations such as the United States of America had taken them back to their mainland. Nations with large colonies such as Britain and France had taken the people they rescued to their colonies in Africa.
The Earthquake had long ended as the land stopped shaking and the Volcanos regained their dormancy.
To establish a nation within these destroyed lands is nearly impossible, as such, Russia and Britain came to a meeting and decided on a course of action.
They will take the land for themselves and try to rebuild and repopulate it with the people who lived there.
The Lands are divided as such.
The Arabian Peninsula, the Levant and Mesopotamia are going to the British.
Central and Eastern Anatolia goes to the Russians with the Greeks getting the West.
Constantinople will go to the Greeks but as a compensation to the Bulgarians who also claimed it, they got more land in the Balkans in return.
Assyria will be jointly occupied by Russia and Britain.
Normally some Nations of the World would object and do something but Russia, Britain and the Balkans argued that this is the peace treaty of the war. The other Nations came after the war ended to save the people and as such, they have no say in this topic.
But who can strong arm both Russia and Britain? No one, so no one bat an eye and looked away.
-St.Petersburg-
Anastasia looked as her reflection in the mirror. She sighed as she walked away.
This hole thing overwhelmed her even with her superhuman abilities. First a war then a disaster that destroyed the entirety of Western Asia.
"Rebuilding efforts have begun at costal cities and ones near the border. Estimated time of completion, 2 years until livable conditions met."
Anastasia read a report. She had ordered her company, Imperial Inc. to begin rebuilding cities that can be rebuild and make entire new ones for those that are too far gone.
The people of the Ottoman Empire now live scattered around the world with the majority living in the Russian Empire.
This is the biggest rebuilding operation in history as such the planning needs to be perfect.
*Knock Knock*
"Enter."
*Click*
"Your Highness, the Emperor wishes your audience, he awaits you in his Office."
Anastasia nodded.
"Thank you Mr Indrek, I will be there shortly."
Anastasia put back the papers in the drawer as she stood up and made her way to her fathers office.
As she stood behind the door she took a deep breath.
*Knock Knock*
"Enter."
She entered the room as her father gave the confirmation.
"Anastasia, how are you, don't be awake for too long, you need sleep just like everyone else."
Nicolas spoke as he saw his daughters face that screamed of exhaustion.
"I will father, but I need to finish the reports before I go to sleep."
Nicolas nodded slowly as he gestured to the seat before him.
Anastasia, following his gesture sat down on the seat as she slumped down.
"Now, the reason that I called you is because I have questions that I hope you can answer."
Anastasia sat straight as she heard her father.
"I want to know how you were able to outfit our Army with those new wapons and vehicles, from what I gathered, those vehicles and wapons are made by Imperial Inc., so can you answer this question?"
Anastasia sighed, she knew this would happen one day but not today.
"Yes father, the truth is, I am the Founder and Leader of Imperial Incorporated."
Anastasia came out bluntly as she didn't want to sugarcoat it.
Nicolas was stunned, his daughter was very blunt and revealed that she is the head of the giant company that was responsible for making life better in his Empire.
"Hahahaha!"
He began to laugh much to Anastasias confusion.
"Dad?"
Nicolas keept on laughing as he caught his breath.
"I had the suspension that you were somehow involved in that company but not as far as being it's Founder and CEO, Anastasia I am proud of you."
Anastasia smiled as her cheeks became red in embarrassment wich only made her Father laugh more.
"Thank you for being truthful my daughter, you are truly qualified to be my successor."
Anastasia nodded as she didn't know what to do.
"You are free to go now, I have no more questions, return to your duties."
Nicolas spoke.
"Thank you, dad."
Anastasia said as she left the room.
Nicolas who now is alone within his office took a deep breath.
"She grew up too fast."
