Chapter 1100: All Hail The Mother Of Hell

Athena had always been resourceful, and in this desperate situation, she had utilized one of her most unique abilities—splitting the cells of her body to create an imperfect double of herself.

The copy were far from flawless, distorted and grotesque in appearance, but they served their purpose. For each time she charged the Cerberus, blazing with the full intensity of her phoenix powers, her real intent had been to distract the monstrous guardian.

Every attack, every revival, was designed to keep its focus entirely on her.

The Cerberus, with its three towering heads, had become accustomed to this relentless assault. It had no reason to suspect that anything was amiss.

Each time Athena charged, she radiated power, ensuring the beast’s attention was locked onto her. The Cerberus, so intent on her blazing figure, failed to notice the small, twisted double that had slipped past its enormous form and headed toward the pool.

Such was the mind of any person or a beast. Once focused on one thing, the ability to notice the other becomes none existent. All beings had this fault, unless they had a natural gift for seeing not with their eyes like Athena did.

As such, this plan, although a grueling one, worked perfectly well.

This copy of Athena, with only one instruction, reached the edge of the Sea of Aborted Living Blood. Its grotesque form was nothing compared to the importance of its task. As soon as it made contact with the blood, the pool began to churn violently.

The living blood, corrupted by Athena’s presence, responded as if it had been waiting for this moment.

The skeletons that formed the seal around the pool glowed with a deep, ominous red light. Their screams echoed through the air, a cacophony of agony as the ancient runes etched into their bones flared, struggling to contain the powerful force that was now rising from within.

The runes, dark and malevolent, crawled across the skeletal forms, desperately trying to hold back the inevitable. But it was no use. The corruption had taken root, and the seal was breaking.

Like a volcano erupting, the pool exploded with a surge of power. The Cerberus, which had been so focused on Athena, suddenly realized something was terribly wrong. Its heads swiveled toward the pool, eyes wide with confusion and dread as it took a step back, abandoning its focus on the fallen warrior. The beast had no choice but to retreat in the face of this overwhelming force.

Athena, now lying on the ground, exhausted from her repeated deaths and rebirths, managed to lift her head. Her vision blurred, but through the haze, she saw it—a figure rising from the center of the pool.

The skeletons that had once sealed the pool were now shattered, their fragments scattered across the ground. The figure was a woman, completely naked, her body drenched in blood that dripped from her form like a grotesque cloak.

This was no ordinary figure; the power emanating from her was horrifying to Athena’s senses, filling the air with a crushing presence. The runes that had once held her were no match for her return. The Cerberus, cowered in the face of her resurgence.

Then, a voice echoed through the desolate landscape, a voice that sounded like a symphony of beautiful, haunting melodies, each note layered with centuries of pain and longing. "Finally, I’m free!" The words resonated through the air, causing the very ground beneath Athena to tremble.

Lilith, Hell’s mother of the unforgiving, had returned.

Athena’s focus sharpened as she heard Lilith speak again, but something felt off. The realization hit her—Lilith hadn’t spoken with her mouth; the words had been projected directly into their minds. The power of her thoughts echoed through the air, a chilling reminder of the force she wielded.

The Cerberus, sensing the change in the air, attempted to flee. Its massive form began to retreat, but Lilith’s gaze locked onto the creature.

With a single word, "Stay!" the Cerberus froze in place, its escape halted as if by an invisible chain. Then, another word reverberated through the air, "Suffer!"

The effect was immediate and horrifying. The mighty beast, which had so effortlessly toyed with Athena, now writhed on the ground in unbearable agony.

Blood streamed from its six eyes, staining the earth as its massive body thrashed about, crushing hills and shaking the very foundation of Hell. Yet, no matter how violently it moved, it could not escape the torment that gripped it.

Lilith glided effortlessly through the air, her presence more of a force than a physical being, until she hovered directly over Athena. Her eyes, gleaming like rubies, met Athena’s with a terrifying intensity. "It was you," she said, though her voice echoed only in Athena’s mind. "I tasted..." her mannerism was elegantly effortless,"...your blood on my skin."

Athena instinctively recoiled, every fiber of her being screaming to keep her distance from this woman, who radiated both power and malice. Lilith’s gaze flickered with something akin to understanding, as if she expected nothing less than fear from those in her presence.

Before Athena could react further, Virgil appeared beside her, bowing slightly before Lilith. "Hail, Mother of the Unforgiving, and Bringer of Demise," he intoned with a reverence that made Athena’s skin crawl.

Lilith turned her attention to Virgil, floating closer to him with an eerie grace. To Athena’s astonishment, Lilith raised her hand and stroked Virgil’s face, her touch tender despite his ghostly form. She had actually touched the ghost like she would do skin of a person. "My child..."

Athena watched in uneasy silence, the cries of the tormented Cerberus still echoing in the background, a stark reminder of Lilith’s power. She could feel the growing urge to distance herself from this woman who could so easily command such horrors.

Lilith’s gaze shifted back to Athena. "I owe you a debt," she said, her voice like velvet wrapping around iron. "For me, that is rare, as it is a commitment. The last time I owed someone a debt, I became his bride." Her words hung in the air, a chilling testament to the seriousness of her promise. "But before that, there are matters I need to attend to."

With a wave of her hand, Lilith’s voice resonated across the entire landscape, "Hear me, Hell! Your mother is back. Cup Bearers, assemble..."

The ground beneath them trembled as her command echoed through the vast expanse of Hell. The very air seemed to vibrate with the power of her words, and in the distance, a deep rumbling grew, signaling that all of Hell had heard her call. Athena could only stand and watch, realizing that the return of Lilith would unleash forces far beyond control....
