Chapter 1101: The Game Of Consciousness And life
Meanwhile, Lenny was in the midst of a dire situation, facing a deadly puzzle that threatened his life and those behind him.
The walls around them were closing in, a slow but relentless march toward death. Yet, despite the rising danger, Lenny remained unnervingly calm.
The cube before him remained a complex artifact of shifting sides, each one regulating at its own unique speed, designed to test the limits of one’s mental acuity.
This was a challenge meant to break even the sharpest minds, especially with the added pressure of impending doom.
At least that was so for the normal person, but lenny’s brush with death had long become a daily bread.
The walls, Lenny had noticed, were not just Spiky walls—they were constructed from Laws, metaphysical constructs that governed the very fabric of reality within the dungeon.
These Laws were ancient, potent, and unforgiving. Should they touch him or his companions, the result would be instantaneous corruption and certain death. This was no ordinary dungeon; it was a place of such malevolent power that it could sever the umbilical cord between planes, a feat that only the most formidable entities could accomplish.
Even Lenny had to admit that this was an enemy he was not yet prepared to fully confront.
The old elf beside him, on the other hand, was visibly panicked. His eyes darted back and forth between the closing walls and the cube, his hands shaking as he tried to solve the puzzle.
Lenny, however, was resolute. His two centaur guards, ever loyal, stood stoically behind him.
With each passing moment, the pressure increased. The walls were now so close that they were pressing against Lenny’s back, the sensation of the Laws brushing against him like the cold touch of death.
The old elf’s panic grew, but Lenny’s focus only sharpened. He knew that time was of the essence, and his mind raced through the possibilities, searching for the solution that would save them all.
Finally, with a final push of concentrated effort, the cube clicked open. The mechanism inside shifted, and a doorway appeared before them. Without a moment’s hesitation, Lenny dove through the opening, the old elf following suit, and the two centaur guards close behind.
They passed through just as the walls were about to close completely, narrowly escaping what would have been a fatal end.
The room they now found themselves in was unlike the one they had just escaped. Gone were the floating boxes and the oppressive threat of the closing walls. Instead, they stood in a spacious chamber, dimly lit at first, but gradually growing brighter as they adjusted to their new surroundings.
As the light increased, the details of the room became clearer. The walls were lined with intricate carvings, each one depicting scenes of ancient battles, rituals, and figures of power. The air was thick with an ancient energy, and a sense of foreboding hung over them. Ahead of them, at the far end of the room, stood a massive door, adorned with runes that pulsed with a soft, eerie glow.
However, Before the door was a figure. It was seated on what looked like a throne.
This was a Devil. However, it did not look like most Devils that Lenny had seen. This devil had an abnormally huge head. Almost like it’s skull was trying to fit in another brain, but it was just too much trouble, hence the obvious left over.
The chair it sat so proudly on was huge, and plated gold.
It looked like it was a king, giving Lenny and the Elf the impression that they might have actually made it to the end of the Dungeon.
lenny stepped forward and that was when the entire room lit up properly.
In front of him were Giant devils. Each one peculiarly looking in nature. They all stood a distance from him, but Weirdly enough, they did not attack him nor the others.
For a few moments, there was silence. A silence from both opposing parties that was peculiar. However, lenny could not help but notice that the Devils had no killing intent whatsoever.
Lenny waved a waved to one of the Centaurs, and it immediately attacked.
However in doing so, the moment it stepped on the platform, red lightning stroke it, and it instantly turned into a pool of blood.
Lenny frowned at this. he knew how strong his puppets were.
for it to have been reduced to nothing with one attack, it would mean that the power of Law was much stronger within this place than it was in the room they just passed.
It was only now that Lenny’s sharp mind looked at the place from a much different perspective.
He noticed that the Devils, each one with a life of their own were spaced in a very particular manner.
The way they stood and even their formation reminded him of an old game they used to play back on earth. That game had been banned in some places, stating that it was the devil’s game. After all, it was significance of war.
However, it was one that pushed the mental faculty to the extreme.
"Its a Chess board!" Lenny spoke out.
"A chess board?" The Old Elf observed it and then he nodded. "If its a chess board, then where are our pieces?"
He was right. Right now, only the Devil seated on the throne at the point where the king was supposed to stay on the opposite side had any chess pieces.
Just then, a side of the room opened up and some people rushed over.
It was two people. Lenny recognized them. They were participants of the competition. It would seem like the others were stating to figure out how to leave the other room.
The moment they arrived, they looked at Lenny’s group with a guarded expression.
However, one of them smiled, "it would seem like the real test has began." On saying this, he walked over to a corner of the room, and placed his hand on a box on the wall. Instantly...
